Posted: 01 Nov 2021 10:51 PM PDT Please recommend any adblocking software or any DNS based adblocking that actually works fast enough on ATV 11, i have tried adblocking apps but they are being recognised by certain apps and they fail to work. Is there anyway to bypass that instead ? Thanks for your inputs. [link] [comments]
Android TV Philips 43PUS8536 questions. Android 10 Posted: 01 Nov 2021 10:23 PM PDT Hi all, First of all, I just bought my first tv with AndroidTV included, its the 43PUS8536 Philips Ambilight 2021 "the one" and I have a few questions regarding the TV and Android, if someone can help me out figuring out. I have running Android 10: 1. Can't open recent apps. Even with keymapper. I have assigned a button to open and it just wont. Same with split screen. 2. Any way of connecting an android phone as a bluetooth controller to use with Geforce Now? Or SteamLink? All I'm seeing are apps for windows... 3. Any way of addding to the home screen some shortcuts to some of the settings/quick settings? I want to get the sunrise alarm or ambisleep on the home screen, to not scroll through all the setting everytime 4. Activating "ok google" via voice on the remote? Is this a setting to be activated? Posted: 01 Nov 2021 07:00 PM PDT It is said that Skyworth TV such as Q72 and W82 sells well in China. Is Skyworth a good TV brand? [link] [comments]
After update to Google TV, Play Movies app unchanged Posted: 01 Nov 2021 04:00 PM PDT Google Play Movies received a Play Store update to Google TV on 04 October 2021. However, following the update the app is still called Google Play Movies in the app drawer and the Ul is still the old one. When I search for Play Movies in the Play Store lI'm brought to "Google TV (previously Google Play Movies & TV)", version 4.28.57. I'm based in Ireland and seeing the same thing on a Pixel 4, Pixel 4a and Pixel 6. Is anyone else experiencing this, whereby the app has updated to Google TV but the app's name and Ul haven't changed? [link] [comments]
Can you find the ONN Android TV remote by itself anywhere? Posted: 01 Nov 2021 09:17 PM PDT I bought 4 of these onn android tv streamers and our dog chewed down two of the remotes already. I can't find the remotes by themselves. Do you know if they are available anywhere? Thanks [link] [comments]
YouTube videos flicker a different frame occasionally Posted: 01 Nov 2021 04:59 PM PDT Hi all, I purchased a TCL C825 a few weeks back and just getting used to Android TV (had a Fire Stick in my old TV). One thing I've noticed is when watching videos in the YouTube app is that every now and then it will flicker a different frame (it's so quick I can't tell what the frame is - maybe just black, maybe the starting frame of the video?). I tried timing it to see if it happens at a regular interval but it seems to be random. This doesn't seem to happen in the other apps as far as I can tell. I noticed a similar comment on the bravia subreddit, but that only seemed to be for livestreams - mine happens in regular videos. Any ideas? [link] [comments]
channelmaster stream+ degraded Posted: 01 Nov 2021 03:03 PM PDT Hey, I used a CM Stream+ more or less successfully for years. Recently I chose to reformat my storage drive and reset the unit. Now the program guide function is seriously degraded. It still works, but many things like the clock and program labeling are terribly jumbled, and the OTA info loads poorly. I don't know what happened, but I suspect I may have lost a previous update? Any ideas on how I can recover program guide functions? [link] [comments]
Built-in Google Assistant Questions Posted: 01 Nov 2021 05:30 PM PDT I have a TV with Google Assistant built-in (TCL C825) and have a few questions about it: Google assistant prompt The assistant button on the remote brings up the voice prompt on the TV but then it doesn't seem to hear anything I say. Alternatively, if I just say "Hey Google" the prompt will come up and seems to understand what I'm saying most of the time. However, a few times now I've just been sitting there silently watching something on the TV and the Google prompt comes up and then starts typing out the audio from the TV show. I'm guessing something in the show's dialogue sounded close to "Hey Google". Is it not smart enough to work out that this sound came out of its own speakers? So far I'm just frustrated with how hit and miss the functionality is so I think I'll just turn it off completely. Turning the TV on/off with voice controls I can say "Hey Google, turn off the TV" either to the TV itself, or to my phone, and it will turn the TV off. But I can't turn it back on - Google assistant on my phone just says the TV seems to be turned off and won't respond. Is there no way for it to recognise smart home controls to turn back on? Google Home app I can't add the TV to the Google Home app. It just doesn't show up when I try to add a device. But if I use Google Assistant on my phone and tell it to turn the TV off it will do so - so it must know it's there. Does this sound normal? (Sorry, I'm new to Google Assistant/Home) [link] [comments]
