MX Player Codec - need latest version Posted: 27 Nov 2021 05:08 AM PST Apologies if this is the wrong place but last night when I went to watch some movies using the MX Player app on my Sony Bravia I was told that the codec was out of date: "Can't find custom codec. Please use version 1.41.2 ARMv7 NEON codec." In the past I've always had success with the MX_AIO.zip but the latest version I could find is 1.35, and none of the zip files I could find worked. I do have other media apps but none have the functionality of MX Player. Does anyone have a link for the correct version? Thanks in advance! Edit: this link worked like a charm: [link] [comments]
My Xiaomi TV stick just stopped working Posted: 27 Nov 2021 07:57 PM PST I've been using it for a year with a few issues here and there but now it just completely stopped working. There's no white light when plugged in. Has anyone experienced the same with theirs? [link] [comments]
Easy question (Netflix & Disney+) but still want access to my Win10 PC Posted: 27 Nov 2021 10:06 AM PST A friend is giving me his Samsung 55" TV MU6500 as he's upgrading. I currently (old tv) use an older knock-off android box to use netflix and kodi to access my Win10 shared directory. Now we have disney+ but the android box doesn't support the disney+ app. So my choices are to use the netflix and disney+ built into the new tv, but then how can I access my Win10 PC downstairs in the house? I don't want to cast from the computer to the tv, as the person using the tv is far away in the house... so want to view contents of a folder on my Win10 pc. If the tv can not do this (Samsung MU6500 Series 6) I don't mind buying a new android box which would only need to play netflix, disney+, but allow me into my Win10 pc. Thoughts on the best way to go? Thank you! [link] [comments]

Problems with Mi Box S and Mi Stick TV Posted: 27 Nov 2021 10:55 AM PST Hi, first problem: I have a Mi Box S with latest firmware on a Samsung tv 4k of 2019. I noticed some stuttering when i see something on Netflix, particularly 4k hdr videos. It happens every 15 seconds. I already reset tv and mi box, chenge hdmi cable and hdmi port on tv. The second problem with Mi Box S is that after it goes in stand by, the colours on tv turns more faded, then when i change the settings ybrc from 420 to 444 they returns vivid. Why is this happen? The first problem is really annoying in fact i have to ure netflix app directly from tv. With the mi stick tv i have other type of problem, for example in certain point like home page on youtube app, when there are many white writings, they sparkling or flickering i don't known the correct term. If i record it, on video doesn't shown nothing. I don't known if is a problem form tv or mi stick... [link] [comments]

Apple TV app keeps crashing my GTVWR? Posted: 27 Nov 2021 04:30 AM PST Currently watching The Morning Show in the Apple TV app on my Chromecast with Google TV. At least once per episode, not only the Apple TV app but the entire Google TV crashes hard and reboots. Is that common for others of you as well? I'm on a Philips Smart TV with the useless and shitty Saphi OS, which is why I exclusively use the CwGTV. Which also makes me pretty sure that it's not a TV issue, but exclusively the combination of Apple TV app on CwGTV. [link] [comments]

Change behavior of input switching? Posted: 26 Nov 2021 02:55 PM PST Have a Hisense 65U8G. When programming my Verizon TV One remote to control this TV, the "Input" button on the remote cycles and highlights the different HDMI sources, however it will not switch to the highlighted source without pressing the "ok" button on the Hisense remote. The "ok" button on the Verizon remote will not control menu selection on the tv. Is there a way to make the android TV OS switch to a different input after a short pause when highlighting the desired input, rather than needing the "ok" button to change sources? I'd like to need to grab the Hisense remote less frequently. [link] [comments]
Wireless Soundbar for TCL Google TV Posted: 26 Nov 2021 07:09 AM PST I'm going to buy this BBY Black Friday deal: I've owned several TCL Roku TV's and they're an amazing deal. I also get the ROKU soundbar and wirelessly pair. Excited to "upgrade" to Google TV. But on TCL's website I can't find any soundbars than support Google TV. Do they make them? And can you pair wirelessly? [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Nov 2021 06:14 AM PST Looking for some help on recommendations with gps spoofing. Spent a fair bit of time poking around the internet, built my own open vpn and have that working and can gps spoof my computer to trick the google play store with the vpn running. However, any luck with anyone to one-click or no-click a gps spoofing option on an android box? I've looked at skylift and that seems to be ok, but is only 2.4ghz. Can you put extensions on chrome on the android box and will that work? I'm open to using an Amazon fire stick or something too. I'm interested to hear anyone's thoughts or pointers. Posted: 26 Nov 2021 01:14 AM PST Is there any known way to prevent connection leaks with a kill switch with this device? Thinking about trying the Eddie Client with Air VPN when it arrives and seeing if that'll work. Any VPN clients yall recommend that would allow a killswitch? [link] [comments]
Wake on Cast, Assistant can now turn tv ON Posted: 25 Nov 2021 05:54 PM PST (Also posted this in google home sub) Making this post to hopefully help out those who have posted (including myself), about not being able to turn on/off your chromecast built in android TVs with a google assistant speaker or hub. Since day one, I've been able to turn off my tv with google assistant no problem. But turning it ON never worked. Recently, I also began having trouble with the assistant casting Netflix, it's says it's doing it, but nothing happen on the tv (Use to work fine before, YouTube didn't have this issue). So I yet again went into the tv settings (Hisense U68G in case your wondering), and found an option called " Cast to Wake", after enabling this, I was suddenly able to turn my tv on, as well as off, using google assistant on my nest hub. I also have no more problem with the assistant not playing Netflix on tv using voice. So, I'm sure this "wake on cast" may be called something else on your brand of tv, but it's worth looking for it, seeing if it's disabled, and turning it on. That's assuming you've done all the other basic trouble shooting like making sure CEC (or whatever it may be called on your brand of tv), is enabled, permissions are set on both the tv and google home, and services are linked in both google home app and the tv settings. Hope this helps someone. [link] [comments]
Do all Android TVs not have a mute button? Posted: 26 Nov 2021 04:40 AM PST Just canceled my TCL Android TV order when I realized there is no mute, my Mi Android TV stick also doesnt have a mute but then at least you still have the mute on the TV remote. Is this the same for every Android TV? [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Nov 2021 11:37 PM PST Hi All, I'm getting frustrated with my ageing fire stick 4k. It's rather sluggish through the menus and regularly hangs. I'm wondering what he community recommends in regards to a streaming stick upgrade. It needs to be able to handle 4k x265 streams from the plex server. I'm wanting nvidia shield performance but understand it may not be possible, is there anything in this price band that comes close to the performance? So far I've briefly looked at the mi box s and chromecast with Google tv. I'm also considering rooting and then customising the fire stick but I'm unsure of how much of an improvement to expect. Apologies for the vague post, I'm trying to decide the best course from the three options, 1-tweak the current fire stick (will it really improve things much?) 2- mid range device 3- just bite the bullet and go for a shield tv. Any and all input is appreciated and welcome [link] [comments]
Is there an easy way to duplicate/backup a device? Posted: 26 Nov 2021 01:11 AM PST After trying a number of streaming devices I've settled on the Onn 4K box as my current favorite. I recently found a used one for $10 that I'd like to send to my parents to replace their current Chromecast/3G Apple TV combination. I have mine set up with the various apps and settings that I like and want to make the one for my parents identical to mine. Rather than manually changing the settings and downloading all of the apps, especially the ones that aren't available on the Play store or via Aptoide,I'd like to do this in one shot, if possible. I do have OTG cables and memory sticks, or maybe I could just hook them up to a computer. Has anyone done this? What's the easiest and quickest way to accomplish this task? [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Nov 2021 04:24 AM PST I found my previously lost X96 mini during our move and don't have the remote, any suggestions? I've downloaded remote app but says it wants me to go thru steps on mini box to sync with remote app but w/out remote I can't. Help? [link] [comments]
What are the reasons for Android TV lagging behind in streaming app availability/features? Posted: 25 Nov 2021 09:01 PM PST We know that when it comes to Smart TV operating systems, Android TV is one of the most popular & ever growing among the others. And yet, whenever a streaming service is launched/becomes widely available (especially since last year), support for Android TV usually comes late, or with conditions, or with features unavailable. But the other Smart TV operating systems (notably TizenOS, Firetv & Roku) & devices running them gets them first. Generally it's one of the following scenarios:
So why does this happen? Is it because of the low market share? Does it have something to do with Google? Also, what are the apps (not just streaming) you'd like to see become available on Android TV, that are already available on other smart TV OS? P.S. I know many apps are not available on android TV, but supports chromecast ultra (and/or the CCwGTV). I'm talking about Android TV availability in general. [link] [comments]
H9G won't connect to mobile hotspot Posted: 25 Nov 2021 10:03 AM PST Wifi went out, and I'm trying to connect to my phones hotspot so I can watch some Disney+ Whenever you put the right password, the TV will become unresponsive and just not connect, even when waiting for 5+ minutes. If you put the wrong password, the TV will try to connect to the hotspot, but in the end of course, won't let you connect with the wrong password. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
