Cutely trying to underftand Google Play's Dev support struttegy

I have gone through the bot hell of Google Play's "support" for developers.

Without debating the what and when of how much Google relies on AIs and their obsession about them, I have to wonder who decided that it would be a great thing to send warnings to app publishers about their latest uploaded bundles not meeting certain criteria without actually providing details of what went wrong.

On Google Play's side, they have those details down the last byte, they know what displeased them in your latest uploaded build, picking from that long list of things of the thou shall nots. The thing is, they don't really tell you what went wrong. The first warning is always hopelessly vague.
Even if they attach some screenshots to the email, they don't provide any context to them nor do they tell you what they don't like about those pictures. At best you're invited to look into their documentation and keep guessing.

Under other circumstances I'd call that trolling.

Eventually, if you push them for a clarification and wait two glorious business days (aka let's waste more precious time), another formatted bot post will be sent to you, supposedly written by someone called Jenny, Sarah, Anne, whatever, blithely quoting further strips of the same documentation and basically leaving you dealing with it.

    Kindly. :3

What is the logic behind not helping developers as fast as possible, in the most efficient way?

We know that Google could have much better feedback programmed into their robots, detailing the exact reasons why the company is having issues with your product. Yet it feels like there's an invisible time wall you have to jump over to be granted the extremely rare privilege of, first, not being sent an umpteenth bot's email delaying dealing with your case, second, obtaining the actual GrailTM of useful information so you can actually move on.

    TL;DR

Why Google's retarded retention of critical information that would help developers quickly solve their publishing issues on Google Play?

An app to send turn by turn navigation (Google maps) via Bluetooth to an SBC (RPI)?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2021 03:46 AM PDT

Devs, I just kicked off at college and I'm building an electric motorcycle. I have made a python GUI with an RPI and a touch screen to interact with it.

I'm currently looking into doing a turn by turn nav system that can show the info right on the screen. I was wondering if it would be possible to send the navigation info via Bluetooth to my RPI. What I'm talking about is something like a super73 e-bike on board computer with the companion app that allows you to plot routes and then it displays it on the bikes small screen....

    video abt super 73 app

TL;DR - Is there any way to make an app that will send google map turn-by-turn navigation ques/data via Bluetooth from my android to a RPI?

    TIA, DOT.

Configuring Enterprise Wi-Fi programmatically for android 11 and above

    Posted: 20 Oct 2021 05:21 AM PDT

Since android 11 and above installing CA cert directly isn't possible. The user has to manually install CA cert. Previously WifiEnterpriseConfig method setCaCertificate() would set and install the certificate itself.
Now, am not sure how to access the installed CA cert and how to pass it to WifiEnterpriseConfig.
    Need help for this part.
    Thank you.

Devs with 100K+ apps without paid promotion

How long did it take for your app to reach that milestone? And how did you market it freely?

Success stories are a lot of inspiration for others so sharing would be great 👍

    Exposure API alternatives?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2021 03:47 AM PDT

Hi. I want to create an app that finds nearby phones which also use the same app. I dont want to exchange any data over Bluetooth, just want to see if they are there and handle any actions via a backend. The detection process should work in the background but should be battery friendly.
I know the Covid exposure API does almost exactly this, using random ids that expire every few hours. But I have a feeling it will be misuse to use this API for anything not Covid related. Any recommendations for a suitable alternative?

Can I enforce my app for phones with front facing depth camera?

    Posted: 20 Oct 2021 01:37 AM PDT

So for my app, I need a front facing depth camera. Whats the best way to filter other devices out?

Considering the huge amount of Android devices, how would I make sure my app is only available for android phones with a front facing depth camera?

Is there any list with android phones that have these?(I failed to find one), or can I tell the developer console what I need? Or should I handle it in the Manifest file? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Is it possible to lock touch input from showing the settings menu (dragging down) etc?

    Posted: 19 Oct 2021 07:35 PM PDT

I want to develop an app for my infant daughter because she loves cell phones and it could be a fun little project for me.

Currently I can get touch input and draw things to the screen from that input etc but I am wondering if I can basically "lock" the phone from showing the settings menu etc, basically anything that could be used to back out of the app other than maybe getting an event from a physical button push like the volume keys or something.

Basically she just mashes her fingers around the screen and presses random stuff, so I want to eliminate the chances she closes the app.

I know it would go against convention but is it possible to do?

When should I make a reCAPTCHA request?

    Posted: 19 Oct 2021 02:47 PM PDT

When the user signs in? When the signs up for an account for the first time? When the user interacts with your application that causes the backend to make an API call? What scenarios should I consider for where I should implement the reCAPTCHA API call?

    Admob is Retarded

    Posted: 19 Oct 2021 09:58 PM PDT

    Hi,

My account has the new app review process. My app was added to the account and became Ready with Ad Serving Enabled. However, after 1 week Ad serving is limited on the account, but the app itself says ready and ad serving enabled still. I only have one app in the account. How can the ad serving be limited :D :D :D when I only have this app and the app itself is Ready and Ad serving is enabled? This is clearly a bug in their system I mean they must be ultra retarded. I don't know what kind of half-brain idiots work there. If my traffic was invalid I will get problems on Facebook, MoPub, etc.
