Posted: 02 Sep 2021 05:19 AM PDT Android ends applications that fall too far in background for an obvious good purpose: Making space for new ones. However, I would like to exempt QuickEdit (text editor) from auto-closure. When I tap the app icon to recall it after an auto-closure, I get greeted with a white blank splash screen that hurts eyes in darkness even at lowest brightness, and it needs five seconds to recover the session, which gets highly annoying upon repetition, as it interferes with workflow. | Force time picker to use 24-hour clock? Posted: 02 Sep 2021 11:14 AM PDT Can I force all time pickers to let me enter or select the time in 24-hour format, in all apps? I have my main clock using it, and in the past some time pickers showed me 24 hour time , but lately it's all 12-hour with AM/PM buttons. It's super frustrating coming from iOS where text replacement shortcuts worked perfectly in my experience. I noticed some people were having the same issue but didn't really have solutions. | Posted: 02 Sep 2021 10:09 AM PDT some apps i can't long press on and go to settings (uninstall/notifications/clear cache/etc.). keeps saying settings is closing. i can't long press on the settings app either. when i open settings, go to apps, then click on settings, it just goes back to the main apps page. this problem has persisted through multiple resets. | Posted: 02 Sep 2021 10:00 AM PDT Hello! I have a Samsung Note 20 Ultra. I use the Gmail app for both my Google email address as well as my Hotmail address. I have had issues getting the Gmail notifications to clear automatically. They come in just fine (I've read some have had issues with that), they just won't clear, even after I read and/or delete the email from my inbox. I haven't noticed if its a notification to a specific email address. It doesn't happen with every single notification, I'd probably say it happens with 1 out of every 5 notifications. | Annoying pop for wifi and data chat settings Posted: 02 Sep 2021 09:45 AM PDT Today my phone has been continuously getting a pop up to enable wifi and data use for a chat feature, I ignore the pop up but I keep getting it. Has any one else had this issue? It claims to be google chat feature but even when I decline to use it the prompts keep coming. I'm on a s21 ultra, have not had any issues until now. I was using Samsung's messages app, thinking that may be the issue even switched to google messages but still get the prompt. | Best way to backup unrooted device? Posted: 02 Sep 2021 05:28 AM PDT I'm upgrading my phone and I want to backup all of my data (some game data, google authenticator, contacts/messages etc) and transfer it to my new phone. I also use nova so I want to backup and restore my entire layout and basically have my current phone on the new device. I purchased it unlocked, and it still came locked. I got a report from WipeLock to find out the carrier and this was the result: Country Code: PA I cannot find this carrier for the life of me, and none of the unlocking services have it listed. | Fingerprint not working after installing Good Lock Posted: 02 Sep 2021 07:42 AM PDT So i just heard about good lock yesterday and i downloaded it for the first time, downloaded some apps for it and i even downloaded a launcher called Fine Lock for the apps that won't work with Good Lock on my phone. this morning i noticed that my fingerprint sensor isn't working anymore, it says (fingerprint sensor not responding, try again later) and if i go to the biometric settings and try to enter the fingerprints settings it says (fingerprint sensor is not working, if this keeps happening restart your phone) to which i did restart my phone. and it worked but not for too long after i went to sleep again and i woke up to it not working again. i said maybe it's related to Good Lock since i downloaded LockStar? or is it just a coincidence that my sensor stopped working around the same time i downloaded the app? the apps i downloaded for Good Lock are: LockStar, NavStar, QuickStar, Theme Park, One Hand Operation +, and Sound Assistant. my phone is Galaxy A30, running Android 11 and OneUI 3.0. and thanks in advance. (Srry for bad English btw) I've been thinking of upgrading my phone recently and want to switch to one of the new galaxy phones. However The iPhone I have now is jail broken and I can't live without the tweaks I have such as a unlimited hotspot tweak and SoundCloud++. My hotspot is the main source of internet where I live and I don't have any other choice. Is there a way to get these tweaks and I would love to know how before buying a new phone. Thanks!! It seems like my phone is choosing random chats to be marked as "conversations" and is setting all of these chats to silent without warning, meaning that I randomly stop getting sound notifications for certain messages. This is one of the weirdest behaviours I've ever seen in a smartphone. Tried factory reset, no solution. Any guesses or reason for this problem?? It is super important that I am able to make the screens refresh rate 30hz. I am not the most tech savvy person out there, but I will do anything needed be. If rooting is necessary, I will do it. I have tried looking for any bit of info on how to accomplish this, but I can't seem to find anything. Whenever I login any gmail account, the phone will restart itself repeatedly. It will take like 2 minutes before restarting again. It will only stop if I remove all of the logged in gmail accounts. Posted: 02 Sep 2021 08:10 AM PDT Ya he intentado descargar archivos .TTP (O como se llamen) pero no me aparece Arial como una opción nueva a seleccionar una nueva fuente (desde Ajustes>Pantalla>Fuente) Solo las fuentes que descargué desde LGSmartWold. Servicio ahora inexistente. Y cuando urgo en mis archivos y encuentro la carpeta de LGWorld no encuentro las caligrafías que descargué en esa tienda. Y cuando muevo la carpeta donde viene la fuente arial ahí tampoco hay ningún cambio Gracias de antemano por atenderme. | Morning alarm cancels itself immediately Posted: 01 Sep 2021 04:04 PM PDT I'm on a Google Pixel 2 and I noticed my alarm wasn't going off in the mornings so I would just sleep straight through. I tried to replicate it by setting an alarm for 1 minute's time and the alarm turned on, vibrated for around one pulse, and then just disappeared as though it were never there. (I have it set to vibrate first then fade in a Spotify playlist) However when I tried to replicate it again, it worked perfectly. Most of the time when I try and replicate it, it works fine but only occasionally it cancels itself like it does every morning. I have tried all sort of different things with toggling DND or bedtime mode and other stuff that I might be doing each night differently from when I'm trying to replicate it but it's very hard to draw any kind of link between possible factors and what is happening. I would really appreciate any help because I love the Spotify alarm and hate sleeping through my alarm, so this is very frustrating. | Posted: 02 Sep 2021 03:45 AM PDT TL:DR After flashing latest firmware with ODIN the phone became dead, no download mode nothing just dead. So my sister's J5 2015 wasn't able to show keyboard at the password lock screen. I factory reset it with recovery. She forgot her gmail so I had to use a FRP program on my pc to unlock it. That worked and it was working well for 3-4 days. Then the phone couldn't boot the system. In the recovery it said that it couldn't mount cache partition. Maybe that program for FRP unlock messed up something and I forgot to factory reset it in settings app but I thought I wouldn't need to do that. I got the latest firmware. Went into download mode and it flashed just fine. Auto restart was on. Sadly after that no signs of life on this phone. My question is what could've been the issue. I know that the bootloader is correct its correct firmware csc everything. Was it flash storage chip failure(emmc)? I sold it as the screen was just fine but dead motherboard. I'm certain that that forced FRP unlock messed up something and stupid me didn't reset the phone once more in the settings to ensure things like this don't happen. How did it hard brick after ODIN flash is beyond me honestly.... I never had this happened to me. Let me know if something similar happened to you. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 01 Sep 2021 07:34 PM PDT Found it on the side of the road and the phone is completely smashed with zero visibility, but it still turns on and seems to be getting notifications. How can I mirror it to my PC to try and see the screen? I've tried connecting to my computer via USB->USB-C but I think its locked, also tried HDMI->USB-C to my TV and that didn't work. Edit: the phone kept ringing and I managed to somehow answer the call by swiping all over the screen and got the phone back to the owner [link] [comments] |
