If fake ads get so many people interested into the game, why dont they just create a game thats like that ad?

I dont rly understand why so many companies go for a fake ad that has completely different gameplay.

Many people get interested, go to the shop page and realize the game just isnt what they advertised.

and then many probably uninstal again.

Wouldnt it be smarter to simply.. create a game thats like the ad?

[REQUEST] Looking for landscape mode, action games

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 10:29 AM PDT

    Hey all!

I'm looking for some action game recommendations. Before getting into the specific criteria, I'd like to mention that some of my favorite games are Eternium, AnimA, Shadowgun legends, Dead trigger 2, NOVA Legacy (before a big update changed a lot of things). Hopefully that can provide an idea of what I'm into.

    Now, the specific criteria:

    • Should be landscape mode
    • No energy system or paywalls
    • Not turn based/auto combat
    • Singleplayer. I don't mind if the game has multiplayer modes, but I should be able to enjoy it alone.
    • Not essential, but would be nice if the game allows to experiment around and switch skills/stats (if applicable) without a penalty. I'm not too good at quickly figuring out what works best for me and end up looking online for good strategies so I don't have to worry later about not having any resources to change my style.

I would prefer free games, but please mention any paid games you've enjoyed and I'll look into them when I'm able to buy them. Thank you!

If you're willing to read more, here's what I liked from the games I mentioned:

    • Eternium has an extremely open skill system where I can pick and choose the skills I want, including the ability to change currently equipped skills. I could max out all the skills since it doesn't have a limited skill point system. It only uses the standard game currency and requires time. The premium currency required to unlock slots could be gathered easily over time without ever making me feel I need to pay to progress.
    • AnimA doesn't have as open a skill system as Eternium, but I enjoyed the game nonetheless. No need to pay, great graphics and gameplay. I ended up quitting both Eternium and AnimA because eventually I got bored of doing the same things over and over, but that's not taking away from the games, just that I can't get too far into the grinding stage.
    • Shadowgun legends, dead trigger 2 and NOVA legacy had great singleplayer campaigns, with some smaller missions on the side. I enjoyed the different weapons they offered as well.

Looking for a game, can you help me?

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 05:11 AM PDT

I don't remember the game's name. I've looked on my Google account register and I can't find it.

-It was a free to play game.

-It was released years ago (2013-2019, don't know exactly)

-The game plays likea 2d racing game, although the objects and scenarios are in 3d.

-You are an alien with a weird head who drives a kart/car or a bike. You can unlock/buy new costumes for your character.

-The gameplay consists of short levels where you run against the ghost of other players. The objective is to arrive faster than them.

-The courses have explosions, loops, floor turbos, etc

-It was developed by a North European studio. I don't remember if they were Norwegian or Swedish.

-You obtain money in every level that you use for improving different parts of your car/kart or bike.

EDIT: FOUND! The game is Big Bang Racing. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.traplight.bigbangracing

What do you think of the Steam Deck?

    Posted: 17 Sep 2021 10:46 PM PDT

With the release just around the corner, I'm really wondering if we here fall in their demographic of an interested audience?. So:

    1. Is it classified as mobile gaming in the purest sense to you?
    2. Would you get it if budget was not an issue? (or do you have zero interest in it)
    3. Do you think it will be a success or a flop? (Predictions will be referenced in the future :D )

    Need a new game suggestion(s)

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 08:34 AM PDT

I am looking for an RPG, turn based, do not have to collect 500 characters, or build a city.

Would prefer that it had a main character (or a few characters) that you can develop. As in, you not the computer, decide how to build the character (s) when they level. If I want to make a character more defensive, then I throw a few points into defense.

    Anything like that exist?

It was kinda like pewpew but its "modern" in artsyle, also neon colors as well.

The ship is circle and has many gun modes: bounce, rapid, shotgun, etc.

there is tons of enemies and enjoyable boss fights

it has a campaign with varying difficulties.

Any slots/casino games that aren't just reskins of each other?

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 10:49 AM PDT

I've tried a number of them on the store and the games all have very similar mechanics to each other but are just reskins more or less. I'm betting from some kind of unity store asset/template pack or something like that.

Has anyone found any of these that are actually unique? I don't mind if they're IAP traps because I won't spend money on it either way but just looking for something with unique games and bonus mechanics.

[REQUEST] 2+ player, asynchronous turn based, cross OS

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 09:46 AM PDT

I'm looking specifically for asynchronous games because people's schedules are all over the place. However, if you have a recommendation for real time as well, send it my way.

    Preferred genre(s)

    • strategy,

    • rpg,

    • tabletop/board game

Paid is fine. Probably not going to drop $20, but a few bucks is no issue.

I've found quite a few games I think would be great, but they're all real time, unfortunately. Board games that have been adapted for mobile would be awesome, but from what I've seen so far, they're all real time or pass and play.

Some games that we've enjoyed in the past (mobile, console, and PC):

    • MtG,

    • D&D,

    • Civilization,

    • No Man's Sky,

    • Scrabble, Go, chess, the basics,

    • Game of Thrones

    Thanks!

[REQUEST] 'Simple' games with levels that can be played in short periods of time (on bus)

    Posted: 17 Sep 2021 08:36 PM PDT

I am looking for games to play when I am on the bus/on break at work. My main requirement is that it must be a game that I am able to pick up and put down at any time (no time limits, no things that can cause game over by, for example killing me, if I stop paying attention for a few moments. Usually I might be playing games for 5-25 minutes or less, so I typically prefer games with lots of short levels for these reasons. It would be a bonus if the game has fairly simple levels since I can't be too focused on it when on the bus. I typically enjoy logical type puzzle games with levels, I have been playing "two dots" lately, but the levels get too hard/has too complex mechanics for me to play in such a short period of time with little focus. Some I have played that work perfectly for my needs are "cut it" and "draw here", but fully completed both of those so I need something new. Final requirement is that it must be playable without wifi. (bonus points if it can be played in portrait mode, I like to lowkey game and landscape makes it obvious, not a deal breaker though) Free or paid is fine, also feel free to suggest anything that might not match up exactly to what I've suggested, I'm open to trying anything! Thanks

[REQUEST] Drag to move, auto-attack, vertical phone position games

    Posted: 18 Sep 2021 07:31 AM PDT

[REQUEST] Hey! I am looking for game suggestions and i think this sub is the best place to look.

I want to find a game that has the three features mentioned in the title. Basically something like archero or knight's edge. I don't have too much time to play, so i find most enjoyable games with small matches or that you can have fun without having to spent too much time. Also p2p or heavily p2w games are something i would no be interested in.

(edit: p2p, i meant with a subscription! If a good games costs up to 5euros, i would be okay with it.)

(Archero [Habby] went hard down the path of you either spent big amounts of time for very little or buy the things you want. I used to enjoy it back when it came out)

(Knight's edge [Lightfox Games] is pretty cool, but it feels very laggy and it is very repetitive so far, maybe it will evolve to something really nice, for now it feels like a beta)

The "games like archero" search has some interesting points, but instead of trying any game that seems decent, i would appreciate more advice from people who play and are passionate about a game they like!

    Thanks for any suggestions!
