Google TV can't recognise ethernet.. please help! Posted: 12 Jan 2021 02:22 AM PST Hey, at my wit's end here.. I recently got a Google TV to replace my CC ultra and ethernet is a must. I bought an ethernet adapter with power passthrough etc and it powers up fine but the ethernet won't work.. it also has 2x usb ports and they also do not work - anyone have any ideas? Not power, I have a 30w cable and brick powering it all and.it seems fine so I think we can count this out. It also "warp charges" my phone so I know it is outputting the full power thru the hub. Not the unit itself, plugged into my phone it can warp charge, use a usb controller and support ethernet all at the same time Default GTV firmware, latest version I'm in Sweden I've also turned off WiFi to test, there's no signal at all in this case Hub isn't incompatible.. other users have told me they use it for this purpose It really seems like nothing is the issue? This is the hub https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085XZGVN5 I'd LOVE any suggestions here, thanks!! [link] [comments]
Philips Android TV home channel icons gray bug Posted: 12 Jan 2021 06:04 AM PST Hi everyone, I have a Philips 50PUS7303/12 android tv and some channel icons on the home screen are just gray circles. This happens, for example, with the disney + and prime video channels. I have already tried to restart the tv and to uninstall and reinstall the apps but nothing has changed. Does anyone know how to fix them? Thanks [link] [comments]

Philips 55pus7101/12 stuck on logo Posted: 11 Jan 2021 06:44 PM PST Hello I have this android TV that I'd like to ask if there is any hope in reviving. The symptoms are when I plug it in it shows a philips logo and stays there acting like it's booting, standby light flashing, ambilight moving and after a couple seconds the standby light turns off and a white light illuminates the Phillips logo underneath but still on the screen I can only see a Phillips logo and it does turn off by pressing the button, if I turn it off and back on via the joystick it won't turn on the screen or the ambilight, i left it turned on for a couple minutes and it went into standby at which point I can turn it back on but only to a completely black screen again, not even back light or ambilight, only the white light on the bottom lights up and I can then turn it back to standby with the joystick. That's as far as I got. I alone am running out of ideas. So far I followed a couple basic tips like unplugging, holding buttons and nothing fixed it. I did try to upgrade and downgrade the software with upgrade launcher pkg file and it judging by the recovery file left on the USB drive update/downgrade did do it successfully. When I plugin the drive in and plug it in it briefly shows the logo then blanks the screen, takes a couple minutes and 2 to 3 restarts then goes back to the way it was before with there being an android and a lost folder and a recovery text file on the USB drive now. I am down to hardware repair if necessary. [link] [comments]

How do I disable “for you” garbage? Posted: 11 Jan 2021 03:41 PM PST I am really not happy with Google shoving this in my face. The reason why I went with the Android tv is the clean interface and ability to decrapify stuff in the event a tv maker decided to put garbage on the interface. Since the android 9 update, I can't clean up my main menu anymore. Anyone figure out how to disable the awful "for you" suggestions on the main menu? Are there any alternative launchers available? Why is android tv remote app for iOS so terrible? Posted: 11 Jan 2021 03:07 PM PST I've been dealing with this for years. The Android tv remote app for iOS always loses connection to the tv. Maybe I'll get a good 20-30 seconds of use. Then the problems start. Then I have to wait to reconnect or even close the app and reopen. No other app or device in the house has this problem. Anyone else experienced anything like this and know of a fix? My regular remote requires line of sight to the tv. Since that can be tricky cuz of my setup, the app is just better....when it works.
