| Question: How come apps detect 1080p resolution, while the TV is supposed to have 4k? Posted: 10 Aug 2021 11:26 PM PDT I've ran some apps to show me information about my TV (this model: TCL 75c725 , which has Android 11) , and for some reason all of them say it's 1080p resolution (1920x1080). How could that be? Maybe it changes resolution based on content? I wonder then, what triggers it to switch? I don't think there is an API for developers to do it, no? [link] [comments] |
| Google TV setup Chromecast and Ambient Mode Posted: 10 Aug 2021 04:33 PM PDT On set up, I shut both modes off but now want to switch them back on and i can't figure out how. In Settings > System > Cast, it's just a blank screen. No options. I'm Settings > System > Ambient Mode, it says (!) Unavailable Error loading page Can anyone advise? | Posted: 10 Aug 2021 07:47 PM PDT so my kd-65x8500e updated today to the latest firmware I guess. (tbh I thought I had turned off auto update, I got a 55 too and its off on that) installed fine, restarted and now it boot loops at the android logo. power + down volume on rear of tv seems to do nothing, loaded firmware on a usb and it doesn't seem to detect it. saw a post about changing the firmware name to upgrade_loader.pkg and the tv did detect that and seemly ran through the update but upon restart (if I remember to remove the usb) it just loops again in the same spot. so I'm sure its the main board at this point but just wondering if there is anything else I can try. | Help me what to use to watch movies on TV Posted: 10 Aug 2021 02:26 PM PDT Up until now I've been using popcorntime(yes im poor) on my laptop connected to my TV via hdmi to watch movies. However it is starting to be a pain in the ass. Recently I've stumbled across these android TV boxes that sell for about 50$ and I was wondering if they are any good. Like will I be able to download apps just like on my phone? Also what's the difference between those boxes and the sticks? The amazon fire stick, Google chromecast and mi box are always popping up when I search for android TV. Which one should I get but not too expensive pls. As long as I can use those pirate apps and websites to watch movies im cool with it. [link] [comments] |
