Going crazy, unable to write to external drive via Android tv box

    Posted: 27 Aug 2021 05:56 AM PDT

So my internet provider shipped out a nice android tv set up box.its a TelekomTV android box. The past 5 days I've been going crazy because I can't for the life of me get my Android tv to write to the damn thing. I'm using x-plore and thought it would be great that I can write to the external drive via FTP or Wireless sharing or whatever. But no matter what drive I use, no matter how I format the drive. I can't write to it. I tried ntsf and exfat. Formatted the drives from a laptop or directly on Android tv. I made sure that the apps I use in the Android TV have permission to write and do stuff.

I'm at my end, I can't figure it out! Anyone can help me?

My Android box is using Android 11 I have one WD passport drive 2TB and one rugged Lacie drive 2TB.

It's driving me insane! Need help!

    Setting up storage

    Posted: 26 Aug 2021 03:59 PM PDT

Ok, I have an Android TV that I just put a 32 gig flash drive into. It's set as external storage and I migrated all the apps. Now the problem I'm having is downloading new apps. I get an error saying there's not enough storage. Should I set up the drive as internal, and the apps would install on the drive instead by default, or should there be a setting to set it as the default that I'm somehow overlooking? You'd think all this would be a breeze for a long time android user. Lol

What do you think is the easiest for a tech illiterate to learn. Roku Express 4K or Amazon Fire Stick 4K? Will accept other device suggestions as well.

I'm trying to find something for my Mom. Something like AppleTV just seems way too pricey and while I know little about the 2 products I've listed, they seem to have good reviews and aren't super expensive. She's terrible with all tech, and I want to find something that shouldn't be too hard for her to get the handle of with a little coaching from myself lol. I suppose the main thing for her would be a user interface that is very easy to navigate.

How to turn off developer settings with view surface updates turned on?

    Posted: 26 Aug 2021 04:04 PM PDT

---RESOLVED BY UNPLUGGING THE TV AND PLUGGING IT BACK IN!---

So, on my skyworth Android TV, I decided to turn on developer settings and like an idiot I went messing around and turned on one of the "view surface updates" settings, my question is, with the screen being purple, how do I navigate to the developer settings to turn them off? The whole screen is purple.

I have a Sony Bravia a9g. Is there currently a way to stop the rotating ads?

    Hi

A year ago someone, possibly a mod, posted a method for stopping the rotating ads. I don't think that works anymore. is there currently a way to stop the ads? I really resent paying for a top-of-the-line TV and being fed advertisements.
