A cheaper redmi 9 64gb which is the fastest in games but very similar specs otherwise, a pricier redmi 9T 128gb with better battery, and a moto g8 power 64gb at the same price of the redmi 9T. There are so many software complains about the xiaomi phones, it's preventing me from choosing them despite their superior price performance. The moto g8 power has slightly worse specs for the price but apparently is very stable and will receive (or maybe got it already) android 11. The question is, can I install stock android 11 on the redmi phones and get the same experience as the moto g8? Will the phone lose hardware functionality if I do this? Will the fingerprint sensor, camera, etc, stop working if I do this? What would be the downsides of choosing this path vs simply buying the moto g8? I have never flashed a phone before and my current phone is some garbage from 2013 that's only used for calls and sms. However, it does not work for facebook messenger conversations, despite working for other notifications. My use case is that I would like to respond to messenger conversations later, however, I get distracted by them when the notification stays up. Is there a way to fix this? I'm open to other alternatives, but I am very interested specifically in the "Snooze" quality of the notification. Example of snooze icon available on one notification. I tried taking some screenshots to show what I'm talking about, but they don't capture the problem that I'm talking about. Since yesterday, my screen has been more white-ish than usual. All of the colors on my screen appear whiter and brighter, which looks terrible and drains my battery faster. Imagine a Twilight blue light filter, but I can't get rid of it and I can't show evidence of it either. So far I've tried looking through my apps and settings to find the culprit, no luck. | CAN RECEIVE but not send MMS Messages (group texts or images) Posted: 21 Aug 2021 11:38 AM PDT So I have tried all of the steps outside of factory reset from this site:https://thedroidguy.com/how-to-fix-galaxy-s10-mms-wont-send-issue-troubleshooting-guide-1098910 Including Safe Mode, resetting network settings, clearing the cache partition, restarting the phone, deleting old conversations, etc. I have also tried downloading a third-party messaging app like Google Messenger and the problem persists. I can send images in Facebook messenger, my cell phone data allows me to browse the internet when not connected to wifi, and the MMS messages still do not send when connected to wifi. So my data is working properly. Basically, under no circumstances can I send group messages or MMS images via the default messenger, and outside of a factory reset I wanted to look here for help first. [link] [comments] |

| Kyocera 5G Ultra - Ghost Touch Issues Posted: 21 Aug 2021 10:47 AM PDT Hey everyone! I got a Kyocera 5G Ultra through Verizon and have started suffering the ghost Touches. For any that do not know, this is when the phones screen becomes unresponsive and can sometimes be seen randomly sending touch inputs with no interaction with the screen. This bug can usually be temporarily fixed by locking and unlocking the screen. I contacted Kyocera today because I was told that Kyocera has acknowledged the issue and is replacing phones that are still under warranty and suffering the ghost touching. The last thread I saw on this was posted here with the OP not giving any update as to what happened, so I'll be creating this post to document my progress at resolving the issue. Is anyone else experiencing ghost touching? It seems to be a hardware issue. It must have a good protection against metal filings (most of my phones were broken because of metal filings that got there from my work environment). I want it to be overall very durable of course. I have CAT S31 that still works but I currently have my screen's glass broken so the new phone should have a good fall resistannce. It can be also a regular phone with a solid case but I'm afraid that the speaker will be less resistant to metal filings. My budget: 250 dollars but I prefer cheaper options. I mean when I am doing conversation with someone after that when I check my old conversation so that automatically disappears just last 30 to 40 messages remains. I downloaded "google message app" and when I opened that after download I saw my old conversation too in "google message app" but I can't see in my original messaging App(I'm Xiaomi own messaging app). I bought a 128 gb microsd card and inserted it into the phone but it only formats as portable storage. How do I switch it to be internal storage? It worked completely fine a few hours ago too and It hasn't been damaged. (to my knowledge) I'm currently charging it right now. Posted: 21 Aug 2021 07:52 AM PDT With some extra flashing and whatnot, you can pass the SafetyNet check on the Magisk app with a basic evaltype and also SafetyNet Test. It's still not enough though as any of the serious apps like banking apps still detect root. They even detect if dev options are enabled... Is there any word on if there's progress on this? I see even though Magisk works on Android 11 and above, it really isn't fully supported as even the main website still mentions 9. [link] [comments] |

If my phone is ever stolen, I won't be able to find it if airplane mode is turned on or mobile data is turned off.. I've looked all over google/youtube/app store/etc but I can't find anything. It's a good service but it's frustrating that it keeps closing or getting closed by the android system after a while. I downloaded the latest version of it (modded) and I trued to install it, but no, it didn't. So I uninstalled old InShot, but the pop-up said that I could keep the data, had many projects there, and I agreed. Now, the app is uninstalled, but when I try to install the apk, it says it's updating InShot but in fact not, and then says App not installed. I realise I shouldn't have kept the data, but is there a way to delete them? [link] [comments] |

I do not remember downloading anything at that time either... When I went to my download folder I found several strange files, the one worrying me the most being "E9TE9uVXsAcqqts.jpg_large" I've got a Samsung Galaxy S10e with Android 11. I have Bitdefender Security on it, not sure if it is really useful. By the way, I got a "the app you just installed has to be scanned before being used" notification about ten days ago, despite the fact that once again I installed nothing.
