| Phone restarted on its own over night so alarm never went off. Posted: 21 Jun 2021 08:48 AM PDT Stock alarm clock app on android 9 on a Cubot X19. I set my alarm, went to sleep, woke up two hours too late to a rebooted phone waiting for me to enter my security pattern and pin after which it gave me a 'missed alarm' notification. I already searched my settings for any sort of auto restart feature I might be able to switch off and found nothing of the sort edit: Okay, so, until I find a better solution I've turned off my security features for now, so the phone goes right to asking for my PIN after restarting. That way, the alarm still gets through. Of course, that's not optimal (feels kind of like a waste to have a fingerprint sensor and not use it) and if anyone has a better solution I'd really appreciate it, but for the moment it's okay. | Help! Video Recovery tool recommendation OR way to upscale google photos uploads. Posted: 21 Jun 2021 02:06 PM PDT In an attempt to free up space, I deleted photos and videos on my device that had been previously backed up to google photos. Unfortunately all of the video was uploaded to google photos in the "standard" quality which is actually very poor. The videos are of my daughter from the day she was born up to today (8 months old). Is anyone aware of any legitimate data recovery tools? I have been searching and most apps seem to be questionable in their integrity. Honestly, without a case this phone feels clumsy to me as it is quite large. I already sent 2 refund requests to Google and 1 through my bank but google still refused to refund the purchase. The first request was within minutes of the bogus purchase. | Posted: 21 Jun 2021 09:56 AM PDT The screen froze on my s7 yesterday then went black and won't turn back on, and the power + volume down + home button sequences are not working. A screen with "downloading... do not turn off target" comes on after about 30 mintues (no text in upper left corner though) when I press volume down + power + home buttons, it turns off, doesn't reboot though. The same "downloading..." screen comes back on again after 30 minutes and stays frozen like that until I try the reboot sequence and it goes to black again. Anyone know what else can be done? | 3rd Party Text Apps Not Sending All SMS Messages Posted: 21 Jun 2021 09:12 AM PDT G'morning all - been trying to fix this one since at least Thursday and getting really frustrated. If I use 3rd-party messaging apps (tested Textra, Chomp, & Google), I can send group/MMS messages, and sometimes send SMS, but a lot of times the SMS ones don't get sent; if I use the crappy built-in Samsung messaging, I seem to be able to send all SMS and MMS. I have a Galaxy S10, Android 11, Google Play update 5/1/2021. I have tried on a solid WiFi signal, solid LTE signal, to different phone numbers, different message lengths, I have installed/uninstalled various apps, and have restarted multiple times...and every time I try and use a 3rd-party, I still take a gamble if a text is getting sent or not. My phone keeps dropping down to 3G, after a reset and checking all the phone settings. My question is, does anyone know of an app that will log historical data of when a phone connects to 3G/4G and how long for? When my screen is turned off just sitting there edge lighting used to click on with the lights and you would see the notification of a text or whatever at the top. Now all it does is the lights click on and it says "edgelighting" like that is the notification I just received. Even when I go into notification history right after all it gives me is "Edge panels" 0 notifications. I would like to keep the lights lighting up around the edge and a notification coming through when I have my phone just sitting down. But I cant even disable them the options I have are brief or detailed and I dont want all the details of the message or notification. Currently I am using textra as a messaging app and it was working fine before the update. Please help, I would even downgrade android versions and go back to a previous version at this point. Even though almost all apps I use have a dark mode, none of them seem to have a unified scheme. Some apps use a pitch black color while others use a dark grey/blue background. Some even give you the option, like Twitter for example. I was wondering if there is any way to make all apps have a the same color dark theme instead of their own color palette?
