She never set a pin yet a few days ago the device suddenly asked her to imput one to unlock it. No idea if there is a right one, nothing we have tried worked. I'm hoping to at least get access to her files somehow. USB debugging is not activated. We know the credentials of the Google account that is linked to the device. We find it on "Find my Device" but can't reset the PIN from there like some solutions online suggest. When we continue to input wrong PINs the tablet tells us to wait for x seconds but there is no "Forgot your password?" option. Is there a way for us to reset the pin without wiping the data? I went into the Google app on my Motorola and it says "Access your Assistant any time that you say "Hey Google", even if your screen is off." | Does anyone have recommendations for a thick/big case for an s21? Posted: 03 May 2021 11:59 AM PDT I upgraded from an S9+ to a regular S21, and the difference in size is noticeable. It's a bit hard to grasp my phone, and I think it just might be because the case I had for my S9+ was pretty big, making the phone, for me, much easier to grab. The cases that came with my S21 are kinda standard/slim, so I'm looking more for a giant case. Do any of you have any recommendations, or the name of any product that I'm talking about? | Posted: 03 May 2021 11:53 AM PDT S9+ on TMobile. When searching in my browser (search engine can be google, bing, doesn't matter) as soon as I hit search, another tab opens with the search results. If I hit anything in the 2nd tab, a third tab opens. At one point today 8 tabs had opened for the same search results. I've switched browsers, I have run SD Maid, MalwareBytes, and Kaspersky. I've also uninstalled my browsers and as soon as I reinstall and open, they are doing the same error again. Any ideas on how to make this stop?? [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 03 May 2021 11:28 AM PDT Hey All, I own a Moto Tab and just recently Google's been forcing a stupid Location Service on Me that I have no choice but to agree with, because everytime I decline, The same stupid boxes of text asking Me to turn it on keep coming back to torment Me. I'm not the type of person to be comfortable with Google spying on Me so naturally I go to settings and press "Device Only" hoping that'll make em shut up, but NO they keep coming back and annoying the living hell out of Me anyways! I've tried disabling Google Maps which doesn't do jack, tried rebooting which also didn't do jack, now I'm at crossroads with nowhere to go, please give Me any suggestions you have and I'll be VERY Grateful. | Nearby Share works like Trash on my Samsung and Huawei Posted: 03 May 2021 10:44 AM PDT So basically was transferring a 300 MB file from my phone to a Samsung tablet today. The method was using inbuilt Nearby Share in both phones. The problem is it transfers at 1MBps or 8 Mbps which is very slow. Note that both of my devices are connected to the Home router which delivers 150 Mbps on the internet for both Technically i may achieve greater speeds due to Wifi Direct but that's a hell lot of hassle of switching Wifi and I want it to be in the same network without leaving my Wifi. Does anyone a fix or a different app which can achieve that on the same LAN ? Also what port does the Nearby Share work on? [link] [comments] |
| Computer doesn't recognize phone until I change transfer settings Posted: 03 May 2021 10:36 AM PDT Model: SM-G965U Android Version 10, G965USQS9FUC2 I am trying to use my Galaxy S9+ with Vysor to mirror onto my computer. When I connect my phone to my PC with a USB cable, it always brings up the message "the last USB device you plugged in has malfunctioned." After plugging in and seeing this message, if I swipe down and tap "USB for file transfer" and tap the option "transferring images", everything connects like its supposed to. I have USB Debugging enabled in the developer options, and when you got to "Default USB configuration" in the Developer options, "Transferring images" is selected. So why do I still have to swipe down and tell it to use that mode to get everything to work? It should be defaulted to that mode. Also, why doesn't "transferring files" work? I have the "ADB universal driver" installed. I have the latest version of Vysor. Phone is completely up to date. [link] [comments] |

The idea is you leave the tip in the phone charging port and then the cable magnetic ally pops on whenever you bring it close. With the most recent update to the software, I started getting these alerts every 5 minutes "The connected USB device is not supported". It charges when plugged in, but sends non-stop notifications when not plugged in. How can I silence the notifications? Where do I go? | Posted: 03 May 2021 09:37 AM PDT I am on Android version 10 stock. Few days ago I updated some apps and these apps stopped working. When I try to open them they open for half a second then crash. First i thought it only happened with my browser app Opera, but then i tried downloading other browsers too and they too displayed the same behavior. I have tried most of them Firefox, Vivaldi, Brave you name it. Then i noticed not only browser but some other apps were crashing in same way too. I have another phone with android version 9 and it has the same problem, that way i know it is not the problem with my phone. I have already tried wiping Data and clearing Cache,but none worked. It's not that new of a phone but it's less than a year old. Within the last hour or so the left side of the screen is staying darker than the rest of the screen. I thought I just dropped it and messed up the left side of the screen (portrait mode) but when I went to watch YouTube in sideways mode the darkness went to the left side of that, making me think its something wrong with the software or something. | Voices in my head! (Not google assistant!) Posted: 03 May 2021 04:31 AM PDT Hi guys, I'm hoping there are some significantly more technical minds than me in this group (not difficult!) My A70 recently updated to Android 11 and since then I've been having some weird reactions when my headphones are plugged in. Apologies if this has been noted elsewhere (but my google searches didn't come to anything) and I have tried a bunch of things to resolve the problem. Basically, every now and then my phone will either skip tracks when listening to music, just pause/stop audio programmes altogether or I get a voice that tells me the weather and then remind me that 'to hear your notifications when your phone is locked etc' Everything pointed towards google assistant (I had something similar before) but that is 100% turned off. I have tried all number of combinations of notifications, accessibility, sounds options etc and right then I think it's been fixed and won't happen again it does. Is it the headphones? They are just normal wired ones that are very comfortable but before the update this didn't happen. As mentioned before the previous issue was a google assistance concern, this is different. Have I missed something obvious? Also worth noting that this happens regardless of interaction, so it could happen when I am in the gym or when I am sat on the couch so I don't think I am accidentally pressing a button somewhere. I love that if you select play while recording video, the camera records the music playing on the phone speakers so that there's no post-editing needed. However, when I'm outside, it can be hard to hear the phone speakers, so I find myself frequently going back and forth between Bluetooth speaker/earbuds (not recorded) and phone speaker (hard to hear). Is there a way to have the video record what sound is going through the bluetooth, or to be able to play both speaker and bluetooth speaker simultaneously? Not sure if there's a option I'm missing.
