Posted: 02 May 2021 02:03 AM PDT Lidl app requires notifications enabled to function, but it mostly uses them for predatory ads. Disabling them inside the app or in App Info settings blocks one feature I need and it prompts me to enabled them back to use it. Is it possible to block these notifications without the app finding out? It says it's because of the EU's PSD2 virtual payments law that they need to be able to send me notifications to allow in-app payments for my groceries. Is there any way to circumvent that? Posted: 02 May 2021 12:14 PM PDT About a week or so ago my Snapchat notifications started showing "First Name Last Name from First Name Last Name" (not actually like that I just don't want to reveal names). It used to say "Snapchat from First Name Last Name" and now I'm seeing the name twice. Is it a big deal? No, but it bugs me regardless and I want to see if Snapchat made the change or if I at some point messed with the settings. As for Reddit, I'm getting notifications very late. The notification icon here in the app will say 8 and I'll be confused cause I didn't get any notifications, then I get them a minute later but gmail sends me emails right away. I don't understand. | Redmi note 10 google calendar questions Posted: 02 May 2021 08:03 AM PDT Is there any way to get the pre-installed google calendar apps icon to be dynamic? It makes it much easier for me to check the date if I can just look at the icon on the screen and see the current date. As of now, the icon just shows a constant 31 Also, when looking at the month view, it's really confusing as each page you scroll doesn't show the entire month. It will show a bunch of days and then when you scroll over, it will show more days while including the last week or two from the previous month. It's not a month per page type of view which is really weird for me. Is it possible to change this? Even better if I can also scroll vertically instead of horizontally but this isn't nearly as important. [link] [comments] |
| Should I manually close apps (ANDROID 6) Posted: 02 May 2021 11:40 AM PDT I've read that an android update in 2016 made it that you don't have to close background apps, and it's better to keep them. I am currently using Android 6, which was released in 2015 and I have the last (Android security patch level) update from Jan 5, 2017. | Plz respond......need serious advice & help Posted: 02 May 2021 09:35 AM PDT Hi All I'm new here I need some help & expert advice.......I haven't changed my style of phone in 6yrs a note 4 I loved that phone but it became no longer compatible with my carrier.....So a month ago I bought a 128g Pixel3 first new phone in 6yrs....... When I discovered I couldn't get twrp I decided to purchase a s10e sm-G970U1 & I can't unlock the bootloader on this device cause the option isn't there not even grayed out...& When I booted into download mode the option to unlock the bootloader isn't there..... Plz be honest with me does it make sense to root in 2021? I have a Pixel 3 the Pixels new & rooted but no twrp & I can't use my sd card with it & the Samsung...I can expand the memory but it's not obviously rooted...I'm wondering if it's worth rooting trying to root or should I just either use it not rooted or keep & use the Pixel? | OnePlus Pro 8 no service issue Posted: 02 May 2021 08:43 AM PDT Hi, I have a European version of OnePlus 8 Pro that I have been using in the US. My carrier is T-mobile. Everything was working fine until yesterday when I turned on my phone in the morning (I had shut down the phone for night). Now I cannot get service with the phone and even gps is not working. I can connect to wifi and gps and data works then but otherwise they are not working. I got a new SIM card from the carrier and it did not help. I tried also to use a European SIM card that is working with my spouse's phone but it does not work with my phone. If I type *#*#4636#*#* and check the phone information, it says that mobile radio power is off. If I try to turn it on, nothing happens and next time I check it it is turned off. If I run a ping test it fails with an error message "Fail: IOException". I tried to delete cache and reset network settings, but nothing seems to work. I have started to think that probably a chip is broken in the phone. Has anyone else had similar issues? Does anyone know what might be going on? [link] [comments] |

I'm trying to use an extremely old (10+ years) and also very shitty android tablet as a display/monitor for a desktop PC. It runs Android 2.2 The problem is, it doesn't have the Google Play store, or any sort of app store where I can download an app like Spacedesk or Splashtop. So I either need to install a very old version of the Google Play Store, which I can't seem to get working, or install a different version of Android perhaps? Any tips or help would be appreciated! Everything is working fine, calls, data, texts and pictures. Only issue I have is gifs not coming in on my messages app. Any suggestions on a fix would be much appreciated. What I've done so far is copy all the files I want to keep to my Windows PC through USB and I'm now basically ready to wipe. What I'd like to figure out before I do that is the following: https://i.imgur.com/EoTbizL.png As you can see, Windows reads 52.5GB of total storage with about 1GB free. TreeSize, which I rely on to compare my backup to the original files finds 34.2GB of data. The Problem is that if I manually browse through the folders with both apps (Windows Explorer and TreeSize), they're showing the exact same files and folders - nothing hidden, nothing missing. | Posted: 01 May 2021 02:28 PM PDT Phone is a Note 9, Bell. If I tilt my phone a little to the left, sound comes out of only one of the bottom speakers. Tilting right does the same but to the opposite speaker. Tilting back switches to the top speaker. I tried cleaning the speakers thinking there was dust moving around but that didn't change anything. The phone still works because I turn it on and hear everything. I can't access it because the screen won't work. Replacing the screen costs more than it's worth. I do not have usb debugging enabled. Before i learned how any of this works, I restarted the phone so I can no longer unlock it with the fingerprint sensor. Is there any other way to recover the photos from the phone? | Posted: 01 May 2021 09:00 PM PDT I found a SM-T567V (Samsung tablet) in a trash bin and thought that was ridiculous and grabbed it out. I did the "home button and volume button" reset thing, so it's factory reset and everything is cleared as far as I can tell, but when I try to get into it (there's no password anymore) it asks me to "sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on this device" before I can get in. Any suggestions? The screen is fine and all that stuff, so it seems like a crime not to try to see what's up and at least try to use it, even to give a friend or something. Thanks for any help. . . | Best ways to speed up a slow, rooted tablet? Posted: 02 May 2021 02:40 AM PDT I have a Lenovo TB-X104F and it's a piece of garbage. I've managed to unlock the bootloader, root it using Magisk and set the CPU to performance mode which makes it feel a little bit snappier, but it's still very frustrating to use as it hangs while even just browsing the web. There doesn't seem to be any custom recoveries available so I can't flash a custom rom, is there anything else I can do while rooted to speed this thing up? Thanks. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 01 May 2021 01:22 PM PDT Hi, I am experiencing a bootloop and unable to boot into safe mode. I opened Instagram, it froze shortly after phone restarted and is stuck in samsung galaxy xxx. If I hold power and volume down it restarts and when i change to volume up as I feel the vibration it still doesnt go to safe mode. If I hold power button nothing happens. If I hold power and volume down, plug it in, it wont turn on but the charging symbol will show but with no battery percentage. Any help will be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments] |
