Posted: 27 May 2021 05:58 AM PDT Hi, I am actually a web developer and I started to develop mobile applications recently with my basic Java knowledge. I am learning both Java and Android. Usually it is being really simple for me to understand concept due to my programming background. Also I like XML layouts. But sometimes, when I want to do something special it is being really hard for me to do it with Java. It felts like I am reinventing the wheel. I tried Flutter, but it was a really bad experience. May be it was my fault but the apps that I built was really slow even on the production output. I have a friend who is developing React Native apps and I can easily understand the codes he wrote, I have a good JavaScript and Node knowledge. With Java, it is really hard when you try to do something that is not exist natively, i.e. custom shadows, graphs, new layouts. I know that there is libraries almost for everything, but sometimes they are not enough or they are too much. So what are you thinking about React Native or other cross-platform development products? For a basic app, they could be bad, a React Native "Hello World" app requires about 50-75 MB space, but they are really good in terms of performance, community, freedom, etc. [link] [comments]

Tech stack recommendations and resources Posted: 27 May 2021 06:25 AM PDT Me and my friend had an idea for a sports betting platform and wanted to develop it as a project. I am primarily a product designer but I have a background in mathematics and experienced with C++ and competitive programming. But, I have never delved into anything dev related. We want to fetch data in real time from 3rd party platforms. We will have to figure out APIs for that ig. Considering these, what would be a good tech stack to start with. And I mean from learning all the way to working on developing it maybe 6 months into the future when we have the skillset to work on it. And any resources or recommendations on how to learn would also be appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance :) [link] [comments]

How to make our app searchable on Google Play Store. Posted: 27 May 2021 12:52 AM PDT I have published recently an app called : EnglishRay: Missing Letters Word Game. As you can see , if i type the complete name in search, my app doesn't show anywhere. But if I type developers name it shows. I am not understanding and I want to know how this works and is there any possibility of the app to be available easily. [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 May 2021 01:06 AM PDT Hi, my company has a games app that is live on the Playstore right now. We pushed our first update on Friday night last week, and the update is still in review. Any idea how long reviews are taking? Should I try to get in touch with their support staff to check this out? I'm not looking for a way around. Just to find out why it's taking so long. If there is something we can do to fix it, we want to try it. Details : company based out of India. Games app, available in 176 countries/regions [link] [comments]

Issues with background services on Cat S42 Posted: 26 May 2021 03:31 PM PDT Customer notices critical issues with background services work on Cat S42 device (Android 10). Simply saying, nothing works, after screen goes off. All requirements, letting service work in background are met (WakeLock is acquired, battery optimizations are turned off). No problems were received on large variety of phones with Android version up to 11 (even on those, which have custom Power manager). I'm pretty sure some settings can be configured to actually make service work in background, but I don't have an access to the device. Can anyone suggest any service like Browserstack or at least an emulator (like one, which Huawei provides) to let me try to play around and check app's functionality on such rare device? If there are ones, who had any experience working with this/similar devices, I'd appreciate any comments, which can help to reach the source of problem. [link] [comments]

What kills my store conversion rate? Posted: 26 May 2021 12:53 PM PDT I'm not sure if this is the right sub for this question. If not and you know about one that fits better, please let me know. I have an Android app in the 'Maps & Navigation' category. The ratings are quite good but the conversion rate for the store entry is far from optimal. It is something around 20% while similar apps have a median of ~42% (25. percentile ~26%, 75. percentile ~58%). Maybe some of you have some more experience and see at a first glance what's killing my conversion rate? Here is the link to the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wolfgangknecht.sketchatrack I hope, this posting does not count as self promotion, because it's really not. I'm aware of the fact that you are not my target users. I would post it in another sub for self promotion. Thanks [link] [comments] |
