I only found out because I friend messaged me asking if it was meant to be there as they had received a Facebook notification, there was nothing on my phone that was strange or any sign of anything weird happening. I'm using a Samsung S10 with the latest OS. Does anyone know why this would happen? Is it a virus/malware? Are their settings in each app that allows them to do that? [link] [comments] |
| Every time I type on Android keyboard, I make typos Posted: 08 Feb 2021 11:56 AM PST How to remove this thing, when you tap on a letter with your finger, and then in the process of removing it from the screen, you touch adjacent letters and accidentally hit a letter you didn't intend to touch?! You can test this out by just sliding a finger on a keyboard. On IOS device I have, when you tap a letter, you won't hit another, as it should. I mean, that's bullsh/t, if you ask me... I've even gifted my old iPad to my sister. Trouble is, I spent a ton of money of good audiobooks on iTunes that were on my iPad. They probably still are but my sister lives in a different state from me. Is there a way I can get my audiobooks downloaded onto my Android or my Windows laptop and still be able to listen to them? There are a bunch so ideally I would put them all on my Windows laptop, then to a hard drive, and then move one or two to my Android phone at a time. It took me forever to reset my stupid apple password since I didnt have any devices left on my person to reset them with. But I do have it available now. I have McAfee and also downloaded several Malware and Virus cleaning apps with no success. I don't really want to do factory reset. I also considered getting new phone but concerned in transferring files from infected phone to new one that the Virus would come with files and apps? Any idea which would be my best possibility? | Recycling a dead phone - is my data at risk? Posted: 08 Feb 2021 10:25 AM PST I had an android phone meet an untimely demise, to the point where it will simply not boot up. Basically the phone was bricked after a system update. I cannot do a factory reset or anything that one would typically do to restore its functionality. There is no hope of resuscitating this thing. Since then I have replaced the phone and need to dispose of this dead one, but I don't want the data that is still on it to be compromised. I used a PIN on the lock screen before it died. Posted: 08 Feb 2021 04:12 AM PST To start: I was a cell phone technician for quite a while, and am familiar with Android/phone hardware. Even as a technician I have now run into the strangest issue I've ever seen. Device: Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Carrier: Verizon Issue: Cannot find any bluetooth device, cannot receive text messages, and cannot download from the Play Store all at the same time. Randomly throughout the day, Bluetooth will connect, texts will all come through, and all the Play Store apps will update. Then they all break again. Only step I have not tried (because the phone's owner doesn't want to) is factory resetting. I have tried every cellular mode (Global, LTE/CDMA, etc), a new SIM card, deleting data+cache of every app related to "android system" or "google services", bluetooth, messaging, etc. Have tried with RCS messaging turned on and off (has no effect), have tried multiple messaging apps. All software is up-to-date. During the time when the three symptoms are happening, the only thing that I can get to work is Bluetooth by deleting data+cache + force stopping the Bluetooth services app. Then, obviously, you have to re-pair all the devices, so that's not really a solution, and it doesn't fix the texting or Play Store updates. *Edit* Also tried resetting network settings HELP ME! | Posted: 08 Feb 2021 09:47 AM PST So I changed my PIN and my phone rebooted for no reason And it accepted my new pin but then locked it again on its own and then wasn't accepting the new PIN nor old too. I tried Samsung's find my mobile site's unlock option but it says an error occurred. Any help, please?? I've had this Samsung Galaxy Tab3 for a couple of years and recently i wanted to use it as pdf ebook reader. After years of not using it my first instinct was to plug it and charge it a little. But to my suprise it wouldn't even show charging screen. Is there any way to boot it after that long time? Thanks in advance for any tips! UPDATE: Thank you all for tips and effort for solving my issue but i discoverd that issue doesn't lie within battery/software but in charging port/circuit. I pluged cord which has LED that glows when connected and sadly it didn't glow when plugged into my tablet. I tried to clean the port but that didn't help either. | Alternate App Drawer for Oxygen 10? Posted: 08 Feb 2021 08:24 AM PST Howdy! I picked up a Oneplus Nord N10 5g over the weekend. At the very least, it's a placeholder until somebody releases a flagship that fits my needs. I am liking it enough that I may keep it for a year or more. Anyway, blow for blow this phone matches or exceeds my old Zenfone 4 except that the app drawer doesn't support folders. Maybe one day it'll get an Oxygen 11 build with this feature. I'm aware that it hasn't yet been added as of this writing. Until then, I'm liking everything about Oxygen 10 except for the fact that I can't organize my app drawer to my taste. It's awful. I know Nova Launcher may do this, but I'd strongly prefer to keep Oxygen 10 and just change the app drawer. I want them to remain but with a strike through on them. Microsoft to do puts strike throughs on the completed tasks, but it doesn't even give options to put time. It only puts dates. Not time due. Which is so pathetic. Which app offers both? And preferably in CALENDAR FORMAT. The native samsung calendar app is nice BUT it does not offer the strike through option.

| Android 11 notification settings reset occasionally? Posted: 08 Feb 2021 07:48 AM PST So I'm on stock OnePlus 8T tmo OxygenOS rooted and occasionally notification settings reset. Like setting certain apps to turn off notifications or set certain parts to off reset after a while. It's not connected with any specific app, it seems to be random. In my time of installing things and whatnot on magisk I have used msm tool to revert everything to stock multiple times and it still does this. So it's nothing I've done (I think). But some apps have a service notification, or like tasker you can hide the profile notification,etc. But occasionally (a couple times per day) random apps will have their notification settings reset to all on. Any ideas why or what's doing it? I think it's something on android system doing it but I have no idea what or how to fix it [link] [comments] |

However, it shutdown out of nowhere and now my device keeps booting into recovery mode. I tried flashing a new ROM but it still boots into recovery mode. Even the recovery display "Device Beryllium, No ROM" after successfully flashing a new ROM. I do have ADB shell access and tried wiping /system but no luck with that as well. | Galaxy S4 Mini - Locked out and need the data on it Posted: 08 Feb 2021 01:39 AM PST First off, I've been struggling to find the appropriate community to ask, so I apologize if this goes against some kind of unwritten rule or something. I have this Galaxy S4 Mini. I was using it as a phone in 2014 and found it in a box recently, but I'm locked out. I set the PIN at least 7 years ago, so it's probably not bouncing around in my noggin anywhere. I'm looking to do one of two things, either crack the PIN somehow (there seems to be programs that are capable of it, but they're all paywalled off, and I'm sorry, but I need my cash right now) or extract the data without needing to actually get into the phone. What data do I need? I don't even know. My memory is... well, let's just say dissociative disorders do a number on your memory. For all I know, there could be Bitcoins or something on this phone. I want to know, even if it's all trash data. So far, I've tried a number of things:
At this point, I'm unsure of what I could do outside of learning to code (and crack Android security protocol) and making my own software to bruteforce it, but that could take just as long as randomly guessing numbers. So here I am. Any advice? [link] [comments] |
