So, while I was editing a note in the pre-installed notepad app on my phone, that specific note, after being saved with the new changes, is now all blank! Only the title of said note remains. But when I search specific words (that I knew were only in the note that got "deleted") in the search bar of the notepad app, I still get that (now blank) note as the result! | Lower media volume during phone call Posted: 12 Feb 2021 08:54 AM PST Hi. I noticed that my media volume (music, games, videos) lowers itself automatically every time that I'm on a normal (3G) phone call, using Google Duo or using Discord. What I noticed is that the media volume is actually still set where it was before, it just sounds "lower" compared to the phone's "non-call" state. Is this media volume ducking during phone calls normal? And is there a way to avoid it? I'm on a Nokia 7 plus with Android 10. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 11 Feb 2021 09:18 PM PST Whenever I try and send photos/videos in discord or instagram, my gallery is completely different from my previous device. The photos and videos that appear on top are all from completely different dates, photos from a week ago are next to photos from 6 months ago. I tried finding connections in the photos but nothing matches. Is it possible to fix this? My gallery app is untouched, but when I'm in an app it is a different story. [link] [comments] |

A family friend's phone screen has stopped working but the device beeps when usb is plugged in and rings when called so appears to be working otherwise. Software however says 'usb connections not allowed' so we can't get any of his contacts off his device, and he's not got an email address so can't have signed up to the back-up software the phone has. Is there any way to plug his phone into a monitor or laptop/pc and use that display as his screen so we can help him get his things off the device? He'd already had the phone replaced through insurance prior to asking our help but were stumped.. any help appreciated! [link] [comments] |

| Oneplus 7t pro McLaren stuck in "recovery menu" HELP!! Posted: 12 Feb 2021 11:17 AM PST After getting a software update I turned on the phone and it went into this bootloop so I soft reset (volume up+power) and it brought me into some Chinese writing I got scared and power off the phone right away and then powered it on again and it brought me into the "recovery menu". I tried rebooting it from the menu and it brought me back to the menu, I contacted oneplus and they told me to to clear cache and restore system settings I tried that and it didn't fix my problem it rebooted back to recovery. It's been a few days now and I still haven't heard back from OnePlus so I decided to get on here. I really don't want to loose my data any help would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 12 Feb 2021 10:07 AM PST So I have a phone that my mom got from my aunt and she wanted me to charge it using a usb type c and I tried to power it on but it doesn't do anything so I pressed the power button and volume up and I go into the select boot mode now this wouldn't be a problem but whenever I go to ok the normal boot with the volume down key it turns off the phone and that's the only thing it does it stays on select boot mode. | Posted: 12 Feb 2021 09:38 AM PST The problem is it's positioned right next to the bookmark button, and I routinely end up downloading a page, rather than bookmarking it. In fact, I don't think I've ever needed to use that button, so I find it to be rather useless to me. I don't seem to have any luck in googling for solutions. I can't seem to find any sites that address this specific problem/setting/issue; but I might not be using the right keywords. | Installed suspicious looking app(Help) Posted: 12 Feb 2021 08:38 AM PST So many people say that you're safe from viruses and malware as long as you don't install sketchy looking apps like the one without icons and with weird names. So i was browsing for some game apks and i happen to download an apk which was very low sized like 3-4mb(no icon + weird name) and missclicked the install button instead of delete. But i found the app in my apps list and uninstalled it immediately. Am i in trouble? Any way to make sure i erased it completely? I need help please. [link] [comments] |

The reduced speed data is enough for almost everything I use my phone for, but there are still a few websites, and apps I can only use for a couple days a month, because they need fast internet to function in a usable manner. So I was wondering if there may be some way to tell my phone to only use the high speed with a few specific apps, while just limiting others to reduced speeds, in an effort to make my high speed last longer. In case it is important, my phone is an lg xpression plus 3, running android 10 on at&t prepaid I know it's probably not really doable, but thanks in advance for any suggestions you may be able to provide. | Sim card suddenly not working. Posted: 12 Feb 2021 08:17 AM PST Hi all! So I have a Samsung Note9, and I recently bought a blackberry classic. Though when I got it, the sim card fit but was not compatible. Then I looked it up online and this one guy said he got it to connect after removing the sim card and putting it back in a bunch of times. I did this to no avail in the blackberry. when I put my sim card back in my Note9, it has the data bars like usual but no connection when I go to any apps. I wiped the sim off and restarted my phone, but still can only connect with wifi. Any tips? :( [link] [comments] |

Got a Samsung galaxy note 9 just last week. Now I feel so bummed out! How can these phones be so high tech and yet get blurry ass photos? Not to mention, I like this guy and I don't wanna seem like a bother like "email me the video...try this try that!" This is such a bummer. And a pretty big deal breaker. Wtf do I do to fix that? | Stock file manager refuses to open some files Posted: 12 Feb 2021 04:50 AM PST I'm running lineageos 17.1 on a HTC U11. When I download pdf files the built in file manager (com.android.documentsui) sometime claims those are not actually pdfs but mere files, as if they had no .pdf extension at all, and obviously there is no app to open "file" files. This doesn't happen with every pdf I download, the last one where it did was this manual for an old DVD player https://gscs-b2c.lge.com/downloadFile?fileId=KROWM000622715.pdf There is also one pdf the file manager considers a BIN file, despite being named something.pdf, and consequently tries to open it with rar. The weird thing is those files are not corrupted. Opening them through amaze file manager works perfectly fine. Can somebody explain this? [link] [comments] |

| Android not recognizing USB connected via micro USB Posted: 12 Feb 2021 04:12 AM PST I have a regular 32GB USB stick connected to an adapter of USB female to micro USB male connected to my phone. I am trying to watch videos from the USB stick on my phone. I have tried numerous file types (mp4. mkv, etc.) I have tried formatting the USB to both fat32 and NTFS and neither work. I am trying to view the videos via VLC. Any way i try it the phone does not recognize the USB stick attached. I use to do it this way, but it was with a different device on android. It happens to all apps and not just specific to one, so I think it's related to ram handling like when Chrome suspends background tabs.
