    My Phone won't boot.

Can someone help me? I have a device (i1 jumbo, 2gb ram) that now gets stuck on the logo screen when switching on. It used to work perfectly before, but then I guess after installing a lot of apps, later on it suddenly shut down and when I try to switch it on, it gets stuck on the "loading apps" screen everytime and after loading, it crashes and restarts to loading again and keeps repeating the same thing over and over.

Also, it can't hard reset with the power and up button, it doesn't display anything after the logo(which it isn't supposed to, according to steps I find)

I think the OS files might have been corrupted when it crashed.

Now, it doesn't even load up anymore and just displays the logo, even when I try to charge it. I found this link https://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f715/i-smart-i1-jumbo-stuck-logo-solved-miracle-thunder-success-2848540/

And am wondering whether it would work? Can someone enlighten me and brighten me on how do I do this, whether I need to have any kind of hardware for miracle box to run on my pc, or is there a better option?

    2 VPN connections at once

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 07:21 AM PST

Hello I would like to be able to use a VPN on a android device but also use a firewall as well at the same time.

But android seems to only allow you to run 1 VPN connection at a time.

On IOS your able to run multiple VPN connections at once.

Is there a way around this for android?

Will removing SIM Card from my old phone affect any data other than Caller ID/Network based stuff?

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 01:07 AM PST

Probably a silly question, just want to make sure. I have a new contract on my new Samsung Galaxy S20 and wish to move my SIM Card from my old S7 phone. I intend to keep the S7 along with all its data (photos, apps, videos etc.), and use the S20 as more of an outgoing/professional phone. The S7 works well and will help me manage and save space more efficiently, as well as a good way to use casually.

As far as I know the SIM only effects the Phone Number, Network (Mobile Data too) and sometimes Contacts and Messages. I have no issue losing access to things like this (considering it'll mainly be used at home). Just want to be certain nothing else will be affected once removing the SIM Card and setting up the S20.

Side Question, is it recommended to get a new SIM card or reuse the older one (Four Years old)? Thanks a lot in advance.

Android Messages is marking messages as read that I didn't read

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 10:35 AM PST

    Device: Pixel 4 Carrier; Verizon

Lately, I've noticed android messages marks messages as read that I haven't seen.

I'll send someone a message and then think to myself "wow, that's weird they didn't respond" an hour later or so.

When I go look in messages it's marked as read.

Anyone experienced this or have any advice/solutions?

How to send a slow motion video?

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 10:32 AM PST

The phone is Motorola Moto G 5g Plus, and I'm using the standard camera app and Google's gallery app. So when I recorded the video, it was 41 mb and I have the option to choose which segment of the recording I want to be slowed down, really cool. There is no option to save/export it, so I assumed it somehow saved automatically. But when I sent it to someone, the video was only 6.1 mb, and not slowed down at all

Edit: on a video on youtube it looks like clicking "share" makes a permanent, and actually slowed down(instead of simply being 240 fps) version of the video separate from the original, but that doesn't happen

Edit edit: on Messenger it works(but without the slow down selection), but not on the app where I need to send it

How does Malware work on Android?

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 09:32 AM PST

I use a Samsung S20, and I am wondering how malware can get onto your phone. Can it only be distributed through the Samsung Store and Google Play store? I know about .apk files, but I have the settings on my phone that no .apk files can run that are not from google play store or samsung store. A couple days ago someone said in a comment on my post that malware could be downloaded onto my phone, but it wouldn't do anything unless I actually run it. Is this true? I have seen those really sketchy ads on youtube like "Cash App" and stuff like that, but I have never actually clicked the "Download" button on the side. Am I safe from those apps being downloaded?

My name is Safwen Chaieb and I'm trying to find my first real job; as a junior android developer. I was wondering if the good people of this sub-Reddit could look at some of my links that I have down below and could give some practical advice and feedback, because obviously I'm not doing something I'm suppose to be doing.

    Someone else's Google Smart Lock

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 07:10 AM PST

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to post this question. My gf opened Snapchat, and my ex's father's Google Smart Lock popped up. How is this possible?

My ex's father has never spoken to my current girlfriend. I haven't seen him or spoken to him for more than 2 years. The last time I contacted him was via email, so I have his email on my contact list in my gmail account. My girlfriend can access my gmail account on her phone, and I can access hers on my phone.

Is the screen quality worse on bigger phones (like when watching youtube movies etc.)

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 05:35 AM PST

So i just recently got the Xiaomi mi note 9. The screen is pretty big (like 6,5 inches) and I've noticed that the quality on youtube videos and movies feels worse then on my previous smartphone with a smaller screen, i have the videos in 1080p60 but they are a bit fuzzy and blurry. its more noticable when watching some detailed games and such, so is this normal and its just me getting used to bigger phones or is this some bug?

Its starting to become more annoying especially with older videos that have only 720p these are very blurry.

(My previous phone was Xiaomi mi A2 lite)

[Question] How long does the phone "remember" incorrect login attempts?

    Posted: 24 Dec 2020 04:30 PM PST

I was messing around with my pixel 4a (new phone!)'s fingerprint sensor, and was wondering how long much I could mess up before the phone tried to lock me out.

What I found from experimentation: - The phone lets you get 5 fingerprint attempts wrong before blocking further fingerprint attempts. - You can get the pin wrong only 5 times too; however, it's tracked entirely separately from the fingerprints. - When the pin is wrong 5 times, you have to wait 30 seconds. Fingerprint does not work during this time. - The count (for fingerprint, at least) stays for at least 5 minutes. What this means is that if you use an incorrect finger 4 times, then wait 5 minutes before inputting another incorrect finger, it'll still lock the sensor.

What I want to know: - How long does it take the count to reset? If I input an incorrect finger 4 times, how long would I have to wait before the phone "forgets" that I gave it wrong fingerprints? - Is there any documentation of this? I'd love to read that.

How to move apps to SD card on LG Journey?

    Posted: 25 Dec 2020 01:40 AM PST

I have an LG Journey but cannot for the life of me get apps moved to the SD card, which otherwise works fine. I've tried googling it, but to no avail. I can't even find the option in the app settings.

Samsung S20 Ultra Android 11 problems

    Posted: 24 Dec 2020 09:04 PM PST

So since I've gotten the android 11 update I've had a few problems, I did a search here to see if anyone has dealt with any and only one of a few of my problems was brought up ( backing to the homepage to have nova launcher gone for a second with one UI being there instead this isn't constant and happened prior to the android 11 update as well)

The problem that is currently bothering me the most is youtube PIP mode flipping out when it's being used. If I back out of youtube and pip mode is activated I can't move the youtube screen without it flickering and essential locking up whatever was behind it i.e google messager, facebook, chrome etc.

I also had a weird problem where google messager deleted all my texts, stopped working, wasn't sending messages and then randomly all my texts are back.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so have you solved it?

    Thanks

P.s outside of these weird bugs android 11 feels a lot more streamlined, and generally smoother

What is taking up 20gb on my new phone? [Samsung S20]

    Posted: 24 Dec 2020 02:52 PM PST

I got a new installation of android on my Samsung S20 (carrier is AT&T), and I noticed that I have 26.61 gb used on it even though I just got it. All I did was restore my call logs, messages, and contacts. This only took up 53.37 MB of space. I also installed Steam, blizzard, microsoft, and google authenticator. Is this just the Android OS plus some preloaded files from AT&T, or is it something taking up a bunch of space? Is there any way for me to reduce the amount of storage is used? I have the 128 gb package so it doesn't really matter, but it is still a little strange. Before I got this new phone, I had a Samsung S8 and I had some photos, apps and the regular stuff. I had 24 gb of storage used on that, and I used that more than my new phone. The Samsung S8 was the 64 gb package. Could it be that android is using a lot more space or something because I have a larger storage?

External microphone support on android to record audio and improve voice calls.

    Posted: 24 Dec 2020 06:36 PM PST

Hello. I'm thinking about buying an external microphone to connect to my android phone (One plus 7 pro) to help improve the quality of my voice recording (as in taking voice notes) and making calls (discord, whatsapp). My question is, do android phone support external microphone? I'm thinking about buying Golive Mic podpro 700 microphone. I don't know how good it is, I just want something to record without the white noise. Background noises, I don't mind as much just the white noises.

I don't know much about audio in general, so I'm kinda lost.
