    Android TV launcher on CCGTV?

    As the title suggests I'm curious to know if anyone has tried to put the android tv launcher onto a chromecast w/ google tv I attempted to do this ( https://www.howtogeek.com/693761/how-to-get-the-google-tv-ui-on-android-tv-devices-right-now/ ) except disabling the GTV launcher hoping it would pick up the ATV launcher but no joy

    Xiaomi MDZ-16-AB .IMG file and PIE OTA update.zip posted on XDA forum

    https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83831075&postcount=13 is a thread which purports to make available 1.5GB .IMG file flashable with AMLOGIC burner utility. Quite interesting as Xiaomi has NEVER made publicly available their rom image files.

    The zip file was obviously sniffed from a recent OTA update for PIE on MDZ-16-AB

    I have absolutely no involvement in making these files public and make no claims as to their viability or functionality.

    Explore entirely at your own risk.

    Sorry, I don't have access to a working MiBox to experiment with these days. Perhaps one of you brave souls will play and report your efforts.

    Issues Xbox one controller to Sony 9500H TV

    Hi all,

    Couldn't see a post about this and ive exhausted my options so im hoping someone smarter than me can provide a solution.

    Ive been trying to pair my Xbox one controller to my new Sony 65 inch 9500H tv. For some reason it will not register the controller. When I click search for new devices it will just scan indefinitely.

    I have tried - updating the TV, bluetooth & controller firmware -turning everything off and on again - Turning bluetooth off and on again - pretty much all noob solutions

    I have been able to connect other Bluetooth devices to the TV so i dont think thats the issue.

    Any help would be great 😊

    Remaping Mi Box S remote buttons(e.g. Netflix, Prime video)

    I managed to remap prime video button by using Tasker app which I sideloaded to my box. The only downside is that you need to disable the app which uses the button(do this first as step 0.)

    I will try to make a video tutorial but don't expect great English :)

    Steps:

    1. Sideload tasker.apk (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm) and install it!

    2. In the Mi box settings go to

    Apps - Special app access - Display over other apps

    and enable the Tasker app

    3. Open the Tasker app and follow these steps(I can't see the Tasker app in my applications so I use X-plore to start it)

    1. Add profile - go to "profile" tab and add a profile (the plus thing)
    2. select "event", then at the bottom of the popup type "logcat entry". then select it.
    3. at the "Component" row, click the magnifying glass icon, a popup shows up then press "ok"

    Tasker will probably need special permissions to continue and you will need to use ADB from your PC(google what ADB is and how to use it. Follow these steps:

    1.Enable Developer options Go to settings-Device Preferences-About-Build and press the Build 7 or 8 times to enable 2.Go to Developer options and enable "USB debugging". 3.Also in Developer options go to "Select USB Configuration" and select MTP(Media Transfer Protocol) 4.Download adb zip as shown in this tutorial: https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/ 5.Start ADB in cmd and run this command adb connect 192.168.1.xx (change ip to your box IP. You can find your IP in your wifi options) Your box will ask you to accept connection so press OK. 6.Run this two commands: adb shell pm grant net.dinglisch.android.taskerm android.permission.READ_LOGS adb shell am force-stop net.dinglisch.android.taskerm

    1. you should be at homescreen with a play button hovering, press it to start recording, then press the assistant key once, then stop recording(I used Android box remote app on my phone as a mouse because i couldn't press the button with a remote).

    2. now you see a huge list of logcat events, and look for something that looks like: "WindowsManager: interceptKeyTq keycode=191 interactive=true keyguardActive=false policyFlags=22000001"

    3. then set it to whatever task you want. Press the + button in tasks, add a name, and choose an action. I choosed App action which now opens TvMate app when I press Prime video button

    4. Try your new button :) Optionally you could get rid of the Prime video(or Netflix) logo by printing a sticker over it :D

    Email address change of Google account

    hi all,

    I guess nobody at Google thought about someone changing their Google account email address. My account is so old, I never had a Gmail address, and changed the primary mail address to another.

    and also I changed my password to a new one, because I do that now and then and thought why not today.

    Now when I started the Chromecast with Android TV, I was greeted with a message that I need to login again. OK, I expected that.

    So I click continue and there is a text field with my old primary address. I click on the remote to enter that field, but I can't. I can only continue, but than it throws an error that this account does not exist.

    I restarted the device a few times, tried to go into the settings and add the account manually new, tried the speak assistant, but nothing helped.

    The "your Google account is locked" dialogue gets pushed to the top over anything else, even settings.

    Long story short, I factory reset it and it works now...

    Great login to all accounts again, pair the remote to the TV and speaker again, I love it.

    Maybe I missed something but I just wanted to stream a show, so I didn't feel like troubleshooting.

    Chromecast w/ Google TV - shipment delayed?

    Is the Google Store having problems keeping the new Chromecast in stock? For almost four weeks, my order showed a delivery window of Oct. 30-31. Two days ago it changed to "Shipment delayed" with no estimated delivery. Is anyone else seeing this?
