Help me upgrade, considering pixel 5. Coming from a samsung only person. Thank you. Posted: 26 Nov 2020 10:35 AM PST Scared kinda to switch froms Samsung to google. Inform me please. Not sure if this kind of post is allowed but currently I own a samsung galaxy 8+ and have been looking at new phones and google pixel 5 is the phone I my radar because I do not want to spend 1000+ $$ for the Samsung's newest flagship. Basically I'm not that well informed on phones so hoping you guys can direct me either one way or another. Posted: 26 Nov 2020 10:56 AM PST I have a Moto E (XT2052DL) running Android 10 with an instruction set that says 64-bit ARMv8-A (32-bit mode). What does this mean? Is there any possible way to run a 64-bit app? Maybe downgrade to Android 9 64-bit? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Nov 2020 10:26 AM PST hello, i have a huge problem. after restoring a longer forgotten backup in twrp I lost my mobile network connectivity (not wifi). tried to flash several other roms after this problem. When I still had the issue I went back to stock but its still persistent. Today I found out its caused by unknown IMEI. I couldnt find a working solution. the best post was something on xda for s7 and others phones with 2 working methods but not for me does anyone have an idea? I have S9 plus (SM-G965F) Europe/Germany (DTB) I have a "working" baseband. its recognized in info. some others had not even that. I have the box of my phone here so I know original IMEI Thanks in advance [link] [comments] |
ADB Bloatware Uninstall Safe List for Samsung, Verizon and Google apps (Galaxy A50) Posted: 25 Nov 2020 11:14 PM PST I've been using ADB to debloat my Galaxy phones for a couple of years now. The thing is, I've had some difficulty in finding reliable information on which system apps are safe to uninstall. Opinions and posted "safe" lists always differ, if not outright incorrect, so I've had to rely on a little common sense and a lot of trial and error when it comes to deciding which system apps to uninstall. I'm no stranger to the factory reset. Anyway, does anyone know of a better way to go about this? Are there some tricks or something that I'm missing? I have some high powered apps to get quite a bit of information about these system apps, so are there things that I can look for to signal that it's either safe or not to uninstall? I'm not interested in rooting, but very interested in dumping as many Verizon, Samsung and Google system apps as possible. Especially Google. Thanks!! [link] [comments] |

Hidden folders keep reappearing after deletion. Posted: 26 Nov 2020 12:22 PM PST Folders: .Android (7 sub folders). .android.cache.a (empty). .MLAndroid (10 files, db & jmd) .OPAndroid (1 db file) .RTAndroid (5 sub folders) .rtmark ( 1 mk file 0b). idlepub folder (empty) not in hidden folders. An app named posit has appeared twice and subsequently deleted. Using Blokada and Malwarebytes twice detected Blue Theme, deleted. Wireless Update v4.5.3 cannot be disabled, only Force Stop and a restart cannot be prevented. Phone is an X23 Android 9.1. Any thoughts on what is going on here with these folders? Can you install stock apps from newer versions of a phone series without root? Posted: 26 Nov 2020 12:15 PM PST If I get an APK of the screen recorder for LGV50 will I be able to install it on my LGV30 or replace the old version without root? [link] [comments] |
Is there an app to customize DND bypass for certain contacts? Posted: 26 Nov 2020 11:51 AM PST Do Not Disturb does have customizations for "starred" contacts, but is kind of an all or none setup. It is useful to have a favorite list in contacts, but this doesn't mean this is the list that everyone would want to bypass DND. For example, is there an app that would allow Judy to always bypass DND for calls, even though she is not a "favorite". Or prevent Bob from bypassing DND for messages, even though he is in the starred/favorite list? [link] [comments] |
Twitter app shows only up to 24 tweets notifications? Posted: 26 Nov 2020 11:50 AM PST I seems to get up to 24 notifications for tweets and if I don't dismiss them everything after that I don't get notified for. I look both in android and app settings and can't see a way to increase that? I'm using default twitter app. [link] [comments] |
How to disable the dictionary square pop up? Posted: 26 Nov 2020 11:35 AM PST So as of late whenever I'm typing and get a spelling error, I don't just get the option to correct the word on the text bar above my keyboard, but when I click on the word I wish to correct, a dictionary box pops up (with word suggestions + Edit or Add to dictionary options) and takes priority. I don't like this feature and wish to disable said box, I rather just have my regular text bar giving me the suggestions. [link] [comments] |

Can’t Block Number in Messages Posted: 26 Nov 2020 11:09 AM PST Hi! My mother has recently been getting spammed by an advertisement number and unsurprisingly finds it very annoying. She can't block the number like normal - pressing the 3 lines in the top right and hitting 'Block' from the menu. The sender is just a name and doesn't seem to have a number linked to it so it can't be blocked through contacts. If she wanted to unsubscribe by texting the number she's provided with a message that pops up saying "additional charged my apply" so we'd rather not unsubscribe through them as we don't know how much they'll charge. I'm unfortunately haven't used android for 8 years so I'm a bit stumped. Any help is appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Nov 2020 09:19 AM PST I have a Redmi Note 8 Pro and it got bent a little bit. After that my phone was not charging so I took it to a repair shop. They solved the charging problem and now my phone is charging. But now its charging way too slow than it used to be. Before it full charges in about 2 hours 30 mins but it takes more than 3hours 30 mins to full charge. What should I do now? [link] [comments] |
X Icon Changer stopped working??? Posted: 26 Nov 2020 08:23 AM PST I'm trying to make my phone aesthetic by creating custom icons, you get the point. Its been working fantastically... until it didnt. I click on "add shortcut to desktop" and the app just freezes then kicks me off... I've waited a few hours to help it reset and maybe work, but that didnt do anything... I'm afraid if I uninstall and re-install I'll lose all my app shortcuts... What do I do? Anyone got any tips? [link] [comments] |
Question for galaxy s20 with exynos SoC Posted: 26 Nov 2020 08:21 AM PST I'm from Europe and i like to ask, after 8 months or so, what's the deal with galaxy s20 overheating with exynos SoC. Is it overheating that much? Has Samsung solved the problem with software update or is a hardware issue? Is it worth buying s20 in your honest opinion? [link] [comments] |
Sync google across work and personal phone help Posted: 26 Nov 2020 07:46 AM PST My personal phone is a Note 10+. My work phone is a Galaxy S9. On my work phone all i want to have sync with my personal google account is my calendar and sign into YouTube Music. When i add my google account on my work phone, even if i only select those two things to sync, it ends up dumping all my personal contacts into my dialer app. So now i have hundreds of useless contacts in my work phone. I have also tried syncing it all, then going into the account setting after and deselecting some stuff and doing a sync, but once contacts are there the ONLY way i have found to remove them is to not allow my personal account on my work phone at all. I didnt have this issue with my LG V30. Anybody know how to fix this? [link] [comments] |
Discord Volume - desperately need help. Posted: 26 Nov 2020 03:36 AM PST Hey gang, So I've been trying to troubleshoot my wife's phone for months now and I still can't seem to figure out the problem. I know a lot of answers will tell me it's a discord problem, but I've checked every discord setting dozens of times and factory reset twice. The problem we're having is that the call volume in discord is insanely low on her Galaxy Note 8. We use discord to chat when I'm at work, and she has to hold her phone next to her ear (the bottom speaker) to be able to hear me. We've tried every setting on discord (yes, she has it set to loudspeaker) and still can't find a fix. I thought maybe it might be a problem with android. I can hear her just fine, but she can barely hear me. Her speaker works fine because she can listen to youtube videos and it's loud. I honestly have no idea what the issue is. TL;DR - On the speaker setting, my wife can barely hear me on discord despite her Note 8 working just fine. But I can hear her perfectly. Any help would be immensely appreciated. Thank you. Edit: Forgot to mention she's on android 9. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Nov 2020 07:14 AM PST 3 days ago, I changed my gmail password. So I got signed out to all the apps that's connected to my gmail. Playstore, youtube, notes, etc. I realized that when I needed to install something a while ago. I needed to sign in again. The problem is, it says I entered the wrong password whem I'm 100% sure I entered the correct one because, of course, I just changed it 3 days ago. The other ways won't work neither and the last resort is to sign in using another account. Sure, I have another. But it won't let me type a new gmail!!!!! I don't literally know what's happening or what's wrong. I already tried restarting and restarting my phone. Anyone knows what to do? I can send screenshots for more detailssss. [link] [comments] |
My samsumg a20 has most of its storage full. Posted: 26 Nov 2020 07:10 AM PST I only have 2 games (6 gigs combined) and a few other apps that together barely form 1 gig, so why is it that out of 32gigs, 27.3 is taken? It did not used to be like this. [link] [comments] |
Gallery Apps reading EXIF Data Incorrectly Posted: 25 Nov 2020 11:37 PM PST Have a Lenovo Smart Tab M8. Been loading it with hundreds of photos and videos to send to my grandmother as a digital photo album. I first copied several hundred photos directly from my phone to the tablet using nearby sharing, and noticed about half a dozen were listed incorrectly. Resetting/reinstalling apps nor deleting and recopying or editing the EXIF data didn't correct the photos. I recently copied several hundred photos from my computer to the tablet. Every photo copied over is being listed by the copy date and not the date taken. I've tried half a dozen gallery apps (Go Gallery and Simple Gallery to name a few), and the only app that is listing correctly is Google Photos. I'd prefer not to use Google Photos, since I want a simpler gallery for my grandmother. Any way to get the tablet to properly organize the photos? [link] [comments] |
Internal storage full, can't find files to delete Posted: 26 Nov 2020 07:03 AM PST My wife's phone (Unrooted Galaxy A5 running Android 8) has 32GB internal storage, and it's at 31GB used, yet we can't find any files. Already tried clearing all the app caches. I took some screenshots: As you can see, in a storage management app it says 31 GB / 32 GB on main storage, but when I click on that icon and it shows the breakdown, it can neither tell me the category nor location of this ~30GB chunk. Running df on termux, I can see that these files probably exist in data/media (based on comparing the output to my phone's output), which is mounted to storage/emulated. However, I can't explore this folder in termux because it would require root. She doesn't use any weird apps, the only thing I can think of is she takes a lot of photos and video, and she uses google photos to sync it to the cloud. I've heard some users report that when they clear their local photos, their device sometimes dumps it in "other" but in our case it doesn't seem to be anywhere. Does anyone have any clues as to what's going on? I'd prefer to solve this without rooting or reinstalling the OS if at all possible. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Nov 2020 06:58 AM PST So I recently bought this realme 6i (not even a month). Coming straight to the problem , my device performs a little poor when using third party launchers (any) . The biggest and the most noticeable one is the apps take time to load on the homescreen when going from recent apps to homescreen, or going from any app to homescreen. It doesn't happen every time . The apps just don't appear at the time when they should. It's really annoying. Every since I bought this phone ,I have updated this twice (October and November security patch). But when using the default color os launcher, the apps no longer takes time to load. They don't take time to load onto the homescreen. Any advice will be highly appreciated. Tldr; apps take time to appear on homescreen while using third party launchers. [link] [comments] |
