| Re-calibrating the battery on an LG K10 (2017) Posted: 23 Nov 2020 09:03 AM PST I'm in the process of repairing an LG K10 (2017) that has an broken screen, and am running into some issues with its battery at the same time. Its battery life is acceptable at the moment, so if possible, I'd prefer not to have to replace that as well. The problem is that the battery will discharge fairly normally until it gets to around 50% - at which point it drops very rapidly and then dies. If I try to turn it on again, it displays the typical "please plug in, I've run out of battery" message, as it should. However, once I do plug it in and press the power button, it displays the battery life as ~50% again. Once fully powered on, Android agrees, and will then run out of battery even faster than before. I have an image of the battery usage as an example. I fully charged it to 100%, then left the screen, WiFi, Bluetooth, and torch on to try and drain the battery as quickly as possible. I didn't charge the phone or do anything to it whilst it was off, I just left it, but when I turned it back on, there was about 50% battery left, which started to run out quickly. I've tried discharging it and then charging it to 100% again to no success, though given it's a modern lithium ion battery, I wasn't expecting much. Was wondering if anybody else has run into similar issues they were able to solve? TLDR: battery suddenly runs out at ~50%, I'm hoping to re-calibrate it so that the battery level is accurate. I have an Android 6 phone. It has more issues. It seems to shut off during inactivity. For a backup WAN that's bad. Is there a way to set an Android 6 phone to persist USB tethering without any attempt to listen for activity? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 23 Nov 2020 12:15 PM PST I've just recently bought a new phone to replace my 16gb android(which i actually was fully satisfied with and had the ability to download most of the apps i need and want, though an extra 6gb would've been great) And now that I have 64gb phone I've just been going around downloading all the apps i could possibly ever want. And since i dont usually take much photos or videos I've only managed to use about half the total storage of my phone with a couple of apps that im probably not gonna use much. So now I'm wondering if it would be any better for my phone if i deleted all the apps that i only about once a week and maybe make it have better longevity? ~ So basically does using more storage on your phone affect it at all? ~ [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 23 Nov 2020 08:01 AM PST Basically what the title says. Dropped my phone while it was on airplane mode and the touchscreen became completely non functional. Phone is also locked. I unlock it using either a fingerprint or pin (one or the other). I have a replacement coming, but I use this phone for work, so it would be great to be able to control it using a PC or something until that one arrives. Is that possible under my circumstances? | How can I stop getting texts in the group chat I am in? Posted: 23 Nov 2020 11:27 AM PST I am part of a group text chat, and I don't know how I can stop getting texts from there or at the very least leave. When i click on the three horizontal lines at the top right corner the only options i get are "pictures" "Add/remove" "delete" "quick response" "schedule message" "create slideshow" and a dropdown list of the contacts on that group chat. "Add/remove" hasn't done anything, it gives me the option to "remove" like 6 of the contacts, but then nothing happens, the group chat is still there, I have tried this multiple times now. The "delete" only gets rid of the current conversation. This is on a Samsung J3 smartphone, is there anything I can do? Thank You [link] [comments] |

It seems like this is a samsung specific feature, is anyone aware of an app or feature in stock android that'll let me do the same thing? | Whites on my Galaxy phone appear whiter when I reduce green from white balance settings Posted: 23 Nov 2020 10:06 AM PST If you have a Galaxy , go to settings --> display --> screen mode --> white balance --> advanced settings. Now slide down the green slider to its minimum value. Does this make the whites look noticeably whiter? For me it does. What's worse is after I put the greens back to how they originally were (on their maximum value) , the display gets this slight green tint which is hard to unsee. [link] [comments] |

Additionally, my WhatsApp web would show that my phone is not connected unless I reopen the app on my phone. Anyone has any idea what should I do to fix it? Thanks! It was bought new directly from my carrier SFR (french carrier) and is right now running Android 8.0.0 . So I tried a lot of combinations but I still can't find it. I went to a repair phone store and they told me there was nothing they could do.
