| Are Samsung phone's still slowing down after a year? Posted: 23 Sep 2020 06:28 AM PDT I have used the S4 and now am using the S8. Both phones I feel have slowed down after about a year of usage and its normally an update that starts getting them to lag. The S8 especially after receiving One UI has become laggy at times. Recently I have even noticed it heating up and lagging in games it could previously handle smoothly like COD. Although I understand its now an old device, but I'm concerned if I buy a new Samsung phone it will slow down after just a year. [link] [comments] |

For example, I want my work apps disabled after 5pm but my personal ones on until 10pm. I can only find ones that do blanket bans. Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |

I see it has two sections one says "Customer Info" and the other says "Public Merchant Profile". Basically it's asking me to provide my home address for both sections and what I am wondering is will this info (My address) be shown publicly on the Play store next to my Game? [link] [comments] |

When I want to change the volume while scrolling Reddit, the phone shows media volume and what looks like casting volume, and only changes the casting volume. | Trying to flash new firmware, but keeps failing (Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime) Posted: 23 Sep 2020 01:13 PM PDT Hey everyone! I've been playing around with updating the firmware on my Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime, which is currently running Android 6 (!). However, I've tried 3 times now to flash via Odin, but as soon as it starts, it fails, saying it failed due to bootloader. The current baseband number is: G610FDDU1AQF4 For those wondering, I'm in the US, but was trying to flash firmware from India (the phone is supposed to be unlocked, but originally I thought it came from there), however this produced the above error message. It may be because the number is vastly different (G610FXXS1CTD1) for this specific update. As you can imagine, I can't update the old fashioned way...there haven't been any updates available since I got this phone in 2017! I'm able to get into download mode just fine, but like I said, as soon as I start flashing, I get an error. Is this simply a matter of finding firmware from a region more compatible with my phone? Or am I waaaay off here? As you can tell, I don't have a major knowledge of all the different codes and jargon that's usually used when going this deep, but I like to think I can figure it out, lol. Huawei 20x Posted: 23 Sep 2020 01:09 PM PDT So I'm driving along and try to scroll through the playlist on YouTube and half the time I end up just doodling in light blue 'ink' across the screen instead...I can never activate this feature at will, it just randomly happens, worst idea ever. I want all images and videos to be saved in Downloads or Gallery. I want all additional movement of files and creation of albums to be done manually. Instead, the Gallery app is constantly filling up with new albums it auto-creates. Get an image on WhatsApp? New album. Messenger? New album. Line? New album. Screenshot? Album. Edit in photo app? I have never made a switch from one android phone to another. I don't rly know stuff about backing up my phone or anything since I'm not very tech savvy. The only thing I'm worried abt losing is maybe my contacts, but everything else is just apps. I don't have that many important pictures so I'm not rly worried about that. so I'm wondering is there anything you wish someone told you before you made a switch from one phone to another? I've seen that with the new IOS update it means that the app I'm using is using the microphone. | Classic "Boomer messed with her phone and doesn't know what she did" issue Posted: 23 Sep 2020 11:16 AM PDT My mum has a Samsung Galaxy S10 phone. I wasn't around to help but she tried to use the camera yesterday to take a photo, and apparently something came up saying the camera/website was blocked/overrode to use the camera. She then tapped something, and in her own words "I took off everything that was blue until it let me use the camera." Now she says she doesn't know what she did, and her phone has changed slightly. When I messaged her on Facebook Messenger previously, it would come up with a little bubble to the side of her screen with my profile picture on, and now it doesn't. She also noticed that when she gets a text message, she used to get a preview on a notification bar on the top of her screen but now she doesn't. From the sounds of it, I thought she had turned notifications off, or maybe it was something to do with the permissions manager but I've checked and all the notifications and app permission settings are fine. | Can't manage to get my PS4 controller working on my Android box (Minix Neo U9-H) Posted: 23 Sep 2020 10:59 AM PDT I can't get my PS4 controller working on my Minix. When I connect it via USB it doesn't seem to detect any input. Any 'gamepad tester' app I try doesn't recognize the controller. When I connect it via Bluetooth, most of the time it won't even pair, but when it does, I have the same problem as I have when connecting via USB. | Is an infra-red camera phone worth it? Posted: 23 Sep 2020 10:31 AM PDT I'm looking to get a new phone and I came across the Blackview 9800 which is as good as flagships on top of being "waterproof". (Practically indestructible unless you are physically TRYING to break it.) But there is also the BV9800 Pro which comes with an excellent infra red camera. I was practically sold until the USD to CND was calculated to over 700$, so I'm having second thoughts. Is an infrared camera worth the extra 140$? What uses can be taken out of it? Extra: I've found that Blackview phones also tend to last 5+ years if taken care of. Seeing how it is practically indestructible and the batterylife already lasts a few days on one charge, I doubt i'd need a new phone after this one for a while. Memory is 128GB and expandable. RAM is 6GB. Cameras are better than what I need. All in all, I have no problems other than the price that's just a little past my limit, but can be pushed if necessary. [link] [comments] |
| Factory reseting a device without buttons or a reset pinhole or knowing the password to it Posted: 23 Sep 2020 10:21 AM PDT I have this unbranded big screen tablet thing that used to be a part of an office that is not in use and I'm planning to sell. I want to reset it but the issue is that it does not have a lock button or a home button or volume buttons or anything (however it does have a pinhole in the back that I thought would be a rest pinhole but its actually a volume up button I believe). I'm able to open it and go through its settings however when I go to factory reset it, it asks me to confirm the pin but I don't know what the pin is (nor do I know the email password for whoever managed it in the past). I want to ask if there is any way to factory reset this device maybe through an app or if there's some sort of other route that I can do to make it work. (also forgot to mention I can't connect it to my computer either as I don't have the right cable for it). Would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks for reading this. [link] [comments] |

They're all being detected. But not working, the microphones arent working either. The moment I play something, the media volume comes up and automatically goes to full, and no sound comes. I restarted the phone several times. Doesn't work. Can you please help? I also have to mention that around the time I updated the phone, there was another problem on the phone where no sound was coming during phone calls. Posted: 23 Sep 2020 09:48 AM PDT The other day I updated my Google pixel 3axl to version 11.6 (I think) and ever since then the audio on my Bluetooth headphones (pair of raycons) has been randomly pausing and unpausing when I have the phone locked. This is happening primarily on Spotify to the point where it takes 10 minutes to listen to a 3 minute song. It has happened a little on audible though which makes me doubt it's spotify. It also doesn't happen if the phone is unlocked, regardless of what app I have open, everything still plays fine in the background. I have attempted to make sure everything else got updated and that I unpaired and had my device completely forget that the headphones excited before re pairing them, any thoughts? [link] [comments] |

Current device: Nokia 7.2 TA-1196. OS: android 10. Age: 4 months. Carrier: eir (eircom) Ireland. Background: The phone came on Android 9. The night of getting it, it automatically updated to android 10, so I woke up with it and don't know how it updated. Was it through carrier or system updates? I have a data/Internet gaurd installed, I do check for updates regularly though system updates (settings>system>advanced>system update). I tries to install it in Galaxy store but it says it's not compatible. I bought my phone on the official store of Samsung near our place. Why is it that I have no Game launcher even my phone is a Samsung phone and it is running on Android 10. Can't find the game Launcher on the settings, no screen recorder at the notification bar.
