[REQUEST] Explain the allure of "idle" games to me, please.

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 04:35 AM PDT

I don't get it. As soon as I see a title of a game in the Play Store with the word "Idle" in it, I immediately just close the tab and keep browsing. I don't even consider it. I guess I figure it's because I've already played Cookie Clicker and a few other incremental games (or clicker games) and so I assume it's just more of the same. Am I wrong? I can't figure out what the appeal is, and maybe it's just because I can't get past my assumption that an "idle" game is no different from a clicker or incremental game.

Don't get me wrong--I really dig the autochess style games, and maybe that's more like how I should look at these, but I'm really struggling to see the appeal if they're all just another spin on incremental games.

EDIT: getting downvoted for asking a legit question. Nice. Yesterday a Dev posted his idle game here and had like 300+ upvotes, and yet it's just easier to downvote me than to offer some kind of explanation. I wasn't being a smartass or making fun or the genre, or anything like that--I was hoping for someone to explain something to me that I otherwise hadn't seen.

Aside from Eternium? I love the controls of that game but its too easy i dont even have to kite.. Ideally itd have a lot in common with FATE (wildtangent games) but not neccesary.

ipega 9023 controller review - is it worth it in 2020? (Video review/Written review)

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 08:39 AM PDT

    https://youtu.be/lt7oypJAaLw

Context - So yes, i know, shameless self promotion, i have read the rules and i know its kinda okay but preferably not a lot so i wont make a habit out it, i did want to share my recent review of the Ipega 9023 controller i recently bought, mainly because most of the reviews are outdated with incorrect information and seen as it is still on the market (though i imagine the Ipega 9083 will be the only one available soon as thats a newer product) i thought an updated review would be good.

So if you want to watch the video it would be appreciated to get some feedback/i go into more detail but i have also written a review down below as i know not everyone has that long to sit down a watch a fairly unprofessional vid so you can read this if you would prefer (or do neither its up to you haha) Anyways hope you enjoy!

Review - The ipega 9023 is an interesting device. Its coming up to be fairly old now, from what i can find about five years, so naturally you will find this for slightly cheaper than what seems to be the update, the ipega 9083. From my knowledge they both have the same function - Switch Style controllers that slide on to your device, with the larger form factor being perfect for gaming with a tablet.

The (only) edge this has over the Ipega 9083 is this has some multimedia buttons. Im not sure you would actually use them but its a welcome addition all the same.

As for the quality of the product build wise, its fine. You obviously aren't going to get the same feeling as you would with a dual shock four thats for certain. The buttons are super clicks and loud, as are the shoulder buttons (you won't be playing this next to your partner in bed thats for sure, unless you want to wale them up). Theres also a dpad that is raised a little too high for my liking, its okay though i wouldn't try any fighting games as i couldnt get it to register a sideways input but your milage may vary. The buttons all feel fine and when you are playing a game there is not a whole lot of input delay, no more than what you would expect with any other Bluetooth device. The controller it self is solidly built, with the spring mechanism holding the device in place, working perfectly.

The biggest downside as i show in my video are the thumb sticks. You'll be able to see in the video how there is a massive dead zone which doesn't start registering until you've moved it a fair amount which might be a killer for some people, especially those wanting this to play games like pubg which needs precise inputs. So buyer beware.

Other than that though its great. I have personally been playing through the sonic android port and it is so good (the touch screen controls work fine with that game anyways but its even better with pysical controls so ultimately i still would recommend this device.

There is one thing though - doesn't work with ios. Says it does on the box because it did..at the time. Not anymore though so if you want to game on your ipad, avoid this. Other than that though, its a great cheap little device that really adds a layer of legitimacy to gaming on android as theres so many legit games on the google play store that get overlooked because they are a mobile game where the touch screen controls dont do them justice.

Thats my thoughts anyways. Does anybody else have this device? Does it last long term? Id love to hear what you all have to say.

    [Request] Games Like FR Legends

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 01:31 AM PDT

I'm requesting games like FRlegends. Something like an Offline Racing game with good customization and a "Open" circuit mode where I could just drive around without a time limit anywhere within the confines of the map.

    Forgot the name! Please help

    Posted: 18 Jun 2020 03:00 AM PDT

So there was this game where you played as a man in Paris, I think and it's very artistic. He wakes up and gets dressed. It shows some of his memories like smoking in bed with his wife/girlfriend and you have to tap on stuff and walk through the city. As far as I recall, he had black hair. The game offers you to move left or right (Kind of like Silent Age) and it's a very pretty game please help!!
