Posted: 09 May 2020 03:11 AM PDT So ye ... my Huawei Mate 20 lite really kills SD cards every 1-4 months of all brands my newest dead entry is a Samsung 128gb ... and its getting costly. Like it works 1 moment next the phone states its a slow SD card then its dead and raw format cant be detected by PCS nor phones :/ SO my question is before i buy a new issue phone... hows the Lg G8S it seems to have pretty high end hardware and i could get it cheaply with a contract ( like 11€ per month ) i mean alone the Dead SD cards could probably pay 5-8 months of a new contract already.... Hows the performance of said phone same with hardware , sound ? does it still recieve updates? [link] [comments] |
| Galaxy S10 - How do I make my screen stop fading out when games are running? Posted: 09 May 2020 09:18 AM PDT I just got a new Galaxy S10 a week ago, and the first few days it's been running just fine, no problems, wonderful performance, etc. However, the past two days it's been doing something that's not catastrophic, but it is an annoyance enough to want to figure out how to stop it. I play a lot of games with auto-run functions in them, so I often set the auto on and set my phone down while I'm doing other things. Now, the past few days the screen's started dimming even while there's still motion/action/etc going on on-screen, and popped up with a small lock icon in the middle that tells me to drag the lock icon to Unlock. It's NOT the full sleep mode. It doesn't lock my whole phone, and it doesn't go dark entirely. It also starts after only 2-3 minutes of leaving the game running even though my sleep time is set to 10 minutes. If anyone has any idea what could be causing this suddenly, I'd really appreciate it! | Mirror to end from a broken screen Posted: 09 May 2020 12:40 PM PDT I have a Samsung Galaxy J36V with a broken screen. The phone will boot but the screen stays black and is unresponsive. The boot up sounds and analog buttons all still function. I also have a swipe password to unlock it. My question is can I use something to project the broken phone onto another screen, like another phone, to use to unlock the broken screen phone? [link] [comments] |
| A notification went crazy and wouldn't stop... Posted: 09 May 2020 06:33 AM PDT Hello, everyone! So today I was sleeping while my phone (Xiaomi Mi 9, running on Android 10, MIUI 11) was charging wirelessly on Xiaomi's official wireless charger. I heard a few notifications arrive but I kept on sleeping, and then a mail arrived and the notification sound started beeping again and again and again. It just wouldn't stop. I picked up my phone and tried to unblock it, but it was impossible. The screen was black and the notification sound kept on repeating itself again and again. I pressed the power button for around 5 seconds and only then it stopped. Then I remembered this has happened before, but my phone was on vibrate that time so instead of the sound repeating itself, the phone just kept on vibrating. That time it also stopped by pressing the power button for some seconds. In the meantime, the phone wouldn't respond to anything. Both times had in common that I left the phone charging wirelessly through the night. Does anyone know what happened? If you need more information, please let me know. I hope someone can help! If I use my phone as a router, generering a wifi network, can I access that same wifi network on my phone? For instance I want to use chromecast from my phone to my TV, is this possible when I'm using that same phone as an access point? I assume my phone's wifi is turned off when it is an access point, but can't figure out if it would be able to access the network it is creating? Thank you [link] [comments] |
| Samsung S20 Plus - Samsung Internet browser issue Posted: 09 May 2020 12:16 PM PDT Tl;dr: Internet browser on S20+ opens randomly wikipedia pages, is this malware or a virus? Hi everyone, so I bought my phone a few weeks back, I don't have any issues with it everything works great except sometimes when I unlock my phone the Internet browser opens a wikipedia page, I don't know what is causing it, from my experience it cannot be a malware because I don't get any pop app ads and I don't have any shady apps/games installed. Did anyone experience this issue before? How can I stop it or do you have any idea what is causing it? Thank you! [link] [comments] |

He is in the Apple ecosystem, his main reasons why I shouldn't were Apple family group and iMessage, rcs is a thing that's like iMessage but for android so that shouldn't be an issue. | Lag MIUI 11 Full Screen Gesture Posted: 09 May 2020 11:00 AM PDT Okay so while using android full screen gestures after some time (2-3 hours) the processor throttles everything is slow and jerky. Scrolling on reddit is stuttering. Games are slow. Basically the processor is throttled. It is only fixed after restarting the phone but the issue pops back after some time of usage. The only fix is not to use gestures but use android navigation buttons. Anyone else facing these issues or know a way to fix full screen gestures. I am using MI 9T with MIUI 11 and Android 10. | Anyone know how to use the Relationship/Label field in Google contacts? Posted: 09 May 2020 09:26 AM PDT Can't seem to find a definite answer on this. You can add Relationship and Label in contacts, so at first I thought it'd be the contact's relationship to you. So if you are adding your wife, relationship would be "wife" and Label "spouse". But then it adds more fields for other relationships... So I'm confused. Is this for creating a network of people that are related to one another? Like would I put my son's name there with relationship son? Not sure I get the point. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 09 May 2020 09:26 AM PDT Hey guys , i really need some help! My dad has an Samsung Galaxy A7 2018 and when at home he needs the wifi calls to work . Recently the guys from telekom came and replaced my old modem with a new one "huawey smartbox v2" ...from this moment my dads problems with those wifi calls started . Before the new modem the calls worked fine but now every wifi call suddenly stops at 40 seconds marker (more or less) and if i restart the modem or the phone it gives me a bit more time , now stopping at 1-2 minute . I also inserted his sim in my phone and the result was the same It's a big deal for my father since he has bad coverage where we live and he needs to answers some important calls sometimes . Are there any solutions for my problem ? Thank you in advance ! P.S. sorry for some bad english and excesive use of the word "the" . | Posted: 09 May 2020 08:45 AM PDT After I download an attachment from Facebook, it goes somewhere into the ether. If I search for the file in my file explorer app, it doesn't show up. A Download Manager item opens in my notification tray. If I click the notification, it opens the file in its default app. Once that happens, i can find the file in the file manager app. I'd like to find out where these files are sitting when I can't find them in File Manager. The problem is that sometimes these files are not named correctly, so I can't open them in their default app until I rename them. I'm not interested in rooting the phone. | Broken screen protector or screen too? Help! Posted: 09 May 2020 08:13 AM PDT Hi. My father few days ago dropped accidentaly my s10 plus. I have ordered a replacement for the protector which is a domeglass but it will be shipped to me in 20 days. Till then i cannot remove my current cracked one because if the screen is not cracked i will end up scratching it with usage. This leads to my question: the screen protector has 5 harline cracks which start from the rounded side of impact at the height of the power button, the impact was a direct protector glass vs floor, i had a cover so it covered the frame and deviated some of the impact energy. The glass of the protector on the point of impact has been dematerialised and it leaves a 1 cm per 2 mm of the screen exposed and there are no cracks or scrathces there on the screen. However if i look under the hairline cracks of the protector i can kinda see a sort of crack line under the protector but i cannot understand if it is a crack or just a shadow or the base of the protector which is cracked obviously. The crack lines which look to be on the screen have the same identical path of the one on the protector. Also they stop right were the protector ends and do not continue till the metal frame since the protector leaves 0.5mm of the screen sides (which are black they do not have pixels) uncovered. I pointed a torch at it and if you move the torch on the screen you can see 2 lines one of which is the one who makes me wondering if the screen is cracked and the other is created by the light of the torch, both move if i change the angle of the torch, however i am not still sure if there is an actual crack behind it. Since i cannot remove the protector for the next 20 days from your personal experience if you crack both the proctector (domeglass) and the screen do the crack lines follow the exact same path or they are different? | Possible usb port short circuit? Posted: 09 May 2020 08:08 AM PDT Hey everyone! I have a Zuk Z2 Plus phone, and I think that the usb port might be burned. The behavior that I'm seeing is that the phone refuses to charge with most chargers/cables, and usually only charges after it reached completely 0 battery. Also, when I connect it to a computer, the phone will beep once, won't charge, and the computer doesn't even recognized the device is there. This is happening with different computers/cables/chargers, so my guess is that I fried (part) of the usb port somehow. Also also, when I go to TWRP (I have the bootloader unlocked), it won't mount anything that I plug there (for example an usb stick). Is there any way to confirm the status of the usb port? Thanks! | Problem with tethering my Oneplus 6 to my computer. Posted: 09 May 2020 06:54 AM PDT Hi I'm a Oneplus 6 user from Malaysia and I'd like to ask for some advice regarding the problem below. I'll try to describe it as best as I can. Firstly my computer is connected to my home wifi with Dota 2 and Discord running. And then I turn on my data on my phone and establish a hotspot. I then switch my computer connection from home wifi to my phone's hotspot. Once I switched over, I will experience a disruption with the internet service on both devices. Dota 2 still runs ok. In Discord I would be Online but wouldnt be able to join a new server/channel. I wouldnt be able to access anything on my internet browser on both phone and PC including Speedtest, Whatsapp, FB, Instagram etc. All these but the mobile service is full bar with 4G. And after this even if I disconnected my PC with my phone and turned off hotspot and restart my mobile data, my phone still wouldnt be able to access anything. For my mobile data to recover, I can either restart the phone immediately or wait for around an hour and it'll return back to normal. This only happens when I tether my phone to the PC, it does not occur if I tether my phone to another phone. I tried using the SIM card on another phone and tether to my PC and the issue persists as well. This has only started to occur recently. I thought I could still use it for something and wiped it clean, but turns out I couldn't unlock it with the pattern she was using on it before. I made a new google account just for this and everything seems very ordinary, like no malware or anything which makes sense since I did a factory reset too. I don't fancy opening the case so I tried the 165Hz sound from the Frequency Generator app and it cleaned the big bottom speaker OK.
