YouTube Screen Off Browser Desktop Mode Posted: 04 Feb 2020 03:11 AM PST Hallo. My phone is a Xiaomi Mi A2. I liked to hear youTube lectures with the screen off while I was doing any manual activity. I played YouTube in Google Chrome in Desktop mode and thus could hear the lecture with the screen off. I did something wrong (click where I should not) and today my phone lost the functionality. When I click on the video it does not open and the phone tries to open the link in Google Photos, but also does not open. Would there be some way to revert to the previous way that use to be working? Thank You [link] [comments] |

A6 Mirroring to 10 y/o sharp tv difficulty Posted: 04 Feb 2020 02:00 AM PST Tried using Smart View. App would "see" my tv, but wouldn't connect. Tried using a MHL cable (5 pin micro usb to hdmi with usb for power) but that wouldn't work either. I also have Comcast (sucks) but wouldn't think that would matter. What am I missing. I was going to get a Chromcast, but thought if a MHL doesn't work nothing can. [link] [comments] |
Forbid phone calls through Bluetooth Posted: 04 Feb 2020 06:48 AM PST Hey all, i have a question, is there a way to tell your phone that phone calls should NEVER EVER go through the bluetooth headset? Like, when im listening to music over bluetooth, and someone calls me, i want to take off the headphones, pick up the phone and answer it. Phone calls should never ever be on the bluetooth device. Is there a way to set this up in android? cause its unbelievably annoying. Thanks in advance!! [link] [comments] |

How to enable adoptable storage through ADB on Android Pie? (Galaxy tab s3) Posted: 04 Feb 2020 12:02 PM PST For the past few days I've been trying to force my Galaxy Tab S3 to recognise my SD-card as adoptable internal storage. I've tried to format it as internal through ADB, but the card simply becomes unreadable until I format it again. It doesn't even show the SD card as available through the Storage menu. I'm looking for methods that wouldn't trip the KNOX of the device, as I intend to continue using the Secure Folder. Has anyone had any success in doing so? Thank you in advance! [link] [comments] |

Note 8 Notification, Location and Update Refreshing Errors Posted: 04 Feb 2020 11:55 AM PST Since early January, my Note 8 seems to stop getting notifications instantly and having a lot of delays. All my notifications seem blocked, until some time in the afternoon where all of them pour in at once. I some time get email notifications from email that I received from 2 days ago, and 30 emails all come at once even when I set the notification rate to 15 minutes. Noticed my notifications also come with I switch off of wifi to data, and the other way around. Also noticed at the same time, my location doesnt move on Google maps when I walk around, but refreshed to a new location if I close and open the app again. Same goes with software updates, it seems like a lot of apps updating in the app store just stop at a certain percentage and not move on for no reason. I've done a factory reset and the issue is still there. What are the potential causes of this issue? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 04 Feb 2020 01:12 AM PST Hello, so before any judgement flows my way this is not nude related lol. I recently reconnected with someone and I really would like to get back some old messages and pictures we exchanged on snapchat. Its a lot more complicated than i worded it but yeah lol. I tried different techniques online but I keep being led to .nomedia files which are apparently supposed to exist in my snapchat cache folder. Only thing is the folder is empty on my phone. Others say i should root and do a deep recovery but both my warranty and my limited trust in myself to not break the phone completely prevent me from doing so. I have a galaxy s9 btw. Anyways, anything non root related and any advice as to how to find these .nomedia files is much appreciated. Thank you. [link] [comments] |
How do background apps work on Android? Posted: 04 Feb 2020 11:44 AM PST If you swipe up to close an app, is it unable to send notifications? If you swipe up to close can it update its widgets? Or are apps running in the background even when you can't see them anywhere? [link] [comments] |
How to pull down on home screen to open notification tray? (9 Pie) Posted: 04 Feb 2020 11:29 AM PST On my old Moto G5, running Android 8, I could pull down on the home screen to pull down the notification tray. Now I've got a Nokia which is much larger, I'm finding I really need that feature. Is there any way to enable it on stock Android? [link] [comments] |
Best SMS app that auto backups up text messages Posted: 04 Feb 2020 11:24 AM PST Just had my Note 10+ completely die on me and had to do a factory reset on the phone. This caused me to lose all my text messages from Google's Messages app. Are there any SMS apps that provide a similar feature set to Google's but automatically backs up all messages? "Hey Google, let's drive" - Where are you? Posted: 04 Feb 2020 11:15 AM PST I know, I know, Google announces features and then totally MISS their announced launch date - normal operating procedure - but I haven't heard anything more about this feature and the transition away from AA for for standalone use. Has anyone heard anything further on this feature release to Google Assistant? [link] [comments] |
Is there any way to change the DPI on my Galaxy S7 edge without accessing the developer options? Posted: 04 Feb 2020 10:13 AM PST So, long story short, I was changing a setting in the dev options, and accidentally changed the DPI of my device. (Though not impossible,) I couldn't really use my device properly, and idiotically, disabled the dev options hoping it would change it, but that sadly wasn't the case. Now whenever I try to reactivate the dev menu, the whole settings app crashes, effectively "soft locking" my device. Is there any other way I can change the DPI on my device? I've had my S7e for over three years, and I'd rather not reset my device unless as a very last resort. [link] [comments] |
"At a glance" showing phantom event (9 Pie) Posted: 04 Feb 2020 09:50 AM PST My "at a glance" is showing an event which I deleted about a month ago, before I even got my current phone. When I click on it, an error message pops up saying it can't find that event. Is there any way to refresh "at a glance" so it doesn't do this any more, or to fully clear that event from my calendar. Why does android cap call log to 500 entries? Posted: 04 Feb 2020 09:43 AM PST Is it a technical issue? I typically make about 500 calls per month. Over the course of 4 years (my phones typical lifespan) it would translate to 24000 calls. Ideally, i would like to look up a number i called two years ago without contacting the telephone company. 500 seems to be a little too small because i don't believe a phone with more than 2gb of ram would have a hard time holding those records to memory if need be. What is the rationale behind putting this limit? [link] [comments] |
Recovering deleted files w/o root Posted: 04 Feb 2020 09:35 AM PST I lost a very important video to me and I would really appreciate a way to recover it. I'm using android 9 on a redmi note 5. The issue is that this phone has a locked bootloader which makes rooting it without factory reset impossible from what I have read online, and most recovery apps need root access since the video was in the internal storage. Is there a way to circumvent this? I know the folder the video was in. Maybe I can backup the folder, before rooting, but I don't know if the deleted data gets backed up with it. Is there any solution? [link] [comments] |

LG G6, rooted, not flashed, has developed horrible battery behavior Posted: 04 Feb 2020 12:12 AM PST Hey there, hope you guys can point me in a direction. As the title mentioned, I have a g6, lg h870 to be precise. It's rooted, but mainly for apps like sd maid pro, TWRD and stuff. Android version is 7.0. Lately, the battery ran out earlier and earlier every month or so. Right now, 100% go down to 70% just from using Spotify for half an hour. I checked the preinstalled battery log, and saw no app there that would explain this battery use, but maybe with the device being rooted, there's a better way to check? I never cared for Android updates, cause I didn't see much of a advantage in them when checking the change log. Anyway, this morning the battery was at like 17%, I just wanted to check some news quick but then the pop-up said that the battery is empty and the phone went out. Plugging it in showed the 17% again. While I have a degree in computer science and I would assume that this is a hardware problem (leading to the fact that I'll need a new phone soon), I nevertheless wanted to ask Reddit for some more input and or help. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Any adb shell tricks/hacks suggestion for non-rooted device? Posted: 03 Feb 2020 03:30 PM PST By following instructions, I was able to grant (through USB debugging) WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS permission to an app to enable global immersive/full-screen mode. What other cool things can I do by tinkering with ADB? Device: Tablet running stock Android 9. [link] [comments] |
