| How to deal with the apps that turn themselves on whenever you're connected to the internet? Posted: 11 Feb 2020 07:36 AM PST So there are certain applications that automatically turn on even though you don't use them whenever your phone connects to the Internet (Reddit and Play Store) are part of them. I find it annoying because despite force stopping them. They get turned on by themselves whenever I get online. This really sucks because I don't want apps to run in the background. Just let me choose what apps I want to run. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
| How do I turn off the extra row of unnecessary buttons in Gboard? Posted: 11 Feb 2020 09:10 AM PST These buttons: Completely useless, never use them, they only get in the way and minimize my game when I'm trying to talk to my damn team mates I cannot find the setting, how the hell do I turn these off? or at least hide them so it doesn't fuck up my game every. single. time? | Phone cuts call 17 minutes after dialling number Posted: 11 Feb 2020 05:35 AM PST Hi everyone. I have a Xiaomi Mi 9T. Today while trying to call my electricity provider I noticed that the phone cuts the call after 17 minutes. Specifically while I am waiting for my call to be picked up by the call center, the phone cuts the call at around 17 minutes (ironically when the recorded voice says my call is being picked up). I don't understand whether this is a problem with my Xiaomi or with Android (I have Android 9), or with my network provider. I browsed the internet and saw that one of the OnePlus phones does the same. However the settings they suggest to solve the issue on OnePlus do not work on my Xiaomi because it is a different phone. Has anyone encountered this? How can I solve it? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 11 Feb 2020 08:42 AM PST Hello everyone, I'm looking to create an app in which you can root varying android version, I'm currently writing it in java and I was wondering if someone would be wanting to help with this. [link] [comments] |
| How do I reenable push notifications? Posted: 11 Feb 2020 10:10 AM PST So, newish phone, ZTE Spark I got about 4-5 months ago when changing the phone plan. Whenever I get a notification from my email or an app or something I would usually push them away as it would be something unimportant and doesnt matter. Eventually, it said "you wanna stop recieving from this app entirely?" And I guess I must have accidentally accepted it, now I get no notifications from my Email so I sometimes miss important shit as I rarely check my email on my own. Anyone know how to fix this? I went into settings and told the app to give notifications but it still doesnt do it despite me having it on highest priority.... [link] [comments] |
| Can't access multi-tasking menu from home screen Posted: 11 Feb 2020 10:05 AM PST I use Evie Launcher on my Google Pixel 3a. For the past few days, I've been unable to access my multi-tasking menu while on the home menu, which I usually accessed by swiping up from the bezel past the home button. This same gesture works when I'm in any other app but the home menu, and it works fine from the main menu of Pixel Launcher. What could be causing this? [link] [comments] |
| How to adjust the volume of left and right bluetooth ear buds ? Posted: 11 Feb 2020 07:11 AM PST My right ear bud is broken so there is a bit less sound in it than the left, is there any way that I can decrease the volume in the left bud? | Disable physical touch screen input, while retaining virtual touch screen via PC? Posted: 10 Feb 2020 10:59 PM PST Hi everyone! I have a Redmi Note 2. Screen has ghost touch issue, Some wild ghost touching occurs even when I haven't physically touched the phone for hours - so I can't really use the phone even from my PC (using apps like ApowerMirror or Vysor). Is there a way to disable the physical input of the touch screen, but keep the virtual touch screen enabled? (so I can still use the phone from PC via ApowerMirror or Vysor) [link] [comments] |
| Bluetooth doesn't have a "forget" option. Posted: 11 Feb 2020 05:21 AM PST I paired with my work vehical and I don't want it paired any more. Every time I click "unpair" in the options, but then the next time I start my vehical it automatically tries to pair, then the screen keeps lighting up every 5 seconds cause it wants me to put the pin in. Super annoying. Anyone know how I get it to forget since I don't have that option? [link] [comments] |
| Headphone jack phone in Canada Posted: 11 Feb 2020 04:46 AM PST I've had a OnePlus 3T 128Gb for a while now and I'd like to upgrade because I feel like it's on its way out, battery is not as good and case selection is down the drain. I'm looking for an upgrade as much as possible. It seems the best option would be the Asus ROG phone 2, but it's selling for 1400$ in Canada vs about 630 in the US (should convert to less than 900) which is fucking insane. I'm thinking of ordering from the states, but I'm worried about warranty. Any suggestions? [link] [comments] |
| What does a lock with a plus sign mean on available wifi icons. Android 9 Posted: 11 Feb 2020 12:09 PM PST I'm looking at two available wifi connections and one of them has the normal lock you'd expect to see with a secured wifi but one of them has a small plus sign next to the lock. I've been searching for an answer but, given the search terms, I'm not finding anything specific to this. Do any of you know what this icon means? [link] [comments] |
| Wifi looks like connected even after I left the office. Posted: 11 Feb 2020 12:04 PM PST Is there a way to adjust wifi sensitivity so that it doesn't make apps think we are connected when there is no data over wifi? When I am at home, wifi doesn't even work properly in another room, yet when I leave home or office it thinks it's still connected and breaks apps. I am on Galaxy Note 8 running 9.0. | Posted: 11 Feb 2020 11:49 AM PST So i just installed the app and got it to run unrooted via my computer after disabling windows defender smartscreen. I'm 100% new to this and I have no idea if I've even achieved anything at all, but i was kinda proud when i saw the DarQ app launch succesfully on my phone (Galaxy S10e). I activated force dark theme and expected it to turn WhatsApp and Snapchat dark, but it did nothing. Did i do anything wrong? [link] [comments] |

| Pixel 2 (standard) Google Assistant - Changes to settings screen after 5 seconds Posted: 11 Feb 2020 09:12 AM PST If I use the assistant to search for anything at all it will show a result for 5 seconds then change to a settings screen without any touching or input. Does this 100% of the time. Disabled active edge, no dice. Disabled voice, no dice. Any thoughts? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 11 Feb 2020 07:58 AM PST Hey, So recently got an android tablet and have an android phone as well. I kept getting my Gmail Notifications to my tablet instead of my phone in most cases. So I disabled sync and notifications on my tablet but now I'm not receiving notifications on my phone at all even though sync and notifications are on. Any idea? Thanks; [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 11 Feb 2020 07:02 AM PST Hi, Recently I bought a Redmi Note 7 and im using it as a "LTE modem" a lot. My problem occurs randomly, it can take 1 day of tethering or 1 hour. The reproduction steps are: 1) connect the device to win 10 laptop 2) enable USB tethering 3) wait 4) the device(android phone) suddenly out of nowhere restarts and interrupts the tethering. Its not a full restart though, it shows 100% battery, then android loading screen and in around 2-3 seconds I end up on main locked screen, after unlocking everything looks normal as if the device didnt reboot at all, all apps but tethering are running. The reboot itself doesnt take longer than 3-4 seconds so its some kind of soft-restart, idk. I googled a little bit and found out that many ppl face the same issue as I do, there are even threads about it 4 years old. Can anyone help me with this issue? [link] [comments] |
| Problem with email notifications Posted: 11 Feb 2020 06:27 AM PST Hello everyone I was looking for some help after looking on the web and reddit and I don't think I was searching correctly for the problem I have. I recently bought an unlocked Note 10+ (star wars edition) and been having a bit of trouble with emails notifications. I keep my updated and phone updated as well. I thought I had everything set up on the phone and Gmail and outlook apps but I don't receive notifications when I get new emails. They tend to show up after I open the app and then close it and then my phone will get the status notifications/lock screen notifications of new emails. I have set to sync and keep the all emails. Any tips would be helpful. I came from a S7 active and didn't have any of these issues before. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
| Looking for notification badges for unread *messages*, rather than notifications Posted: 11 Feb 2020 12:06 AM PST Hi there, I've just recently made the switch from Apple, and I'm really glad I did so far, there's just one thing I cant quite get used to that I think was better in iOS and I'd love to find a launcher that can help me do this. What I found really useful about the notification badges numbers in iOS is that they showed the number of unread items within (emails, SMS, WhatsApp messages, etc). If I open the app and close it again without reading any of the new items, the badge count remains the same, because those items are still unread. In Android, I've noticed the badge count refers to just the notification itself, so if I open the app and again close it without reading any of the unread items, that badge count disappears. I've noticed in a lot of apps that the visual difference between an unread message and a read one is quite subtle and not easy to see at a glance, so I'd rather have it work like in iOS where I can see before even opening the app if there are any unread messages buried far down the list. Does any launcher currently offer this? I've tried the Microsoft Launcher, and looked online for others, but the descriptions don't seem to go past a basic mention of there being notification badges, but not how they work. | Removing contacts from second account? Posted: 11 Feb 2020 03:07 AM PST Hi I'm on Android 9 (moto g7plus if it makes a difference) I added a second Google account and now some contacts are showing up wrong. Example : John on my contacts is 123-456-7890 And John on second account is 098-765-4321 So now when John appears it could be either one. I stopped the sync with the second account and tried clearing the cache and data in settings but same thing happens. Is there a solution? [link] [comments] |
