App keeps closing but ran fine on an older phone. Posted: 13 Feb 2020 09:32 AM PST Hey everyone, So I play Monster Hunter Explore on my Pixel 2 XL. If I minimize the game and do anything else besides just go straight back to the game, it'll close. This game is from 2015 and I've played it without this issue on my old Pixel 1 XL without this problem. There was another game I played recently (Dragalia Lost, a newer one) that kind of had this issue but not literally everytime. I turned off battery optimization but it made no difference. Thanks for any advice. [link] [comments]
Stuck making my resume on my phone, and I want it to look professional... Posted: 13 Feb 2020 05:21 AM PST Google docs seems to be the easiest/most obvious choice, but I'm worried about formatting when I email it to possible employers. I won't have access to a proper computer to do it on or even check on how it looks for a couple days. I can email it to friends and see what they think, but I was hoping to avoid some of that trial and error (and waiting for responses). This process is tedious enough. Are there any Word type apps, or even apps specific to resume making that would be better suited than just Google docs? [link] [comments]
| Posted: 12 Feb 2020 08:03 PM PST I've been a Samsung customer since 2014 but with the galaxy s20 being out of my budget and with my Samsung devices terrible reliability. I was thinking about getting a OnePlus. The only thing I'm worried about is the phone's reliability and customer service because Samsung was terrible in the aforementioned areas. Thanks! | Posted: 13 Feb 2020 12:03 PM PST I want to make it so that there is a password required when shutting down/powering off my phone. This is for security/theft prevention. It doesn't seem to be an option in the settings. The only app I can find with this functionality is LockIO, and it isn't supported for Android 9 or higher, which doesn't help because my phone is a Note 9 and has Android 9. Has anyone worked around this? [link] [comments] |

Recording with external mic/guitar. Posted: 13 Feb 2020 02:49 AM PST Hi. So I have a 3.5 jack Y split with 4pin male and 2x 3pin female ends - like this https://imgur.com/a/hUbEFA5 Now when I plug in my headset that has separate speaker/mic cable, everything works fine. But I would like to record my guitar. When I plug in my guitar into the mic hole the phone ignores it (with or without amp). Recordings are made with the internal mic. I'm fairly sure this worked some time ago. Googling around I also found some vids on youtube that suggest this should work. I'm using Nokia 3.1. Any advice or ideas on how to work around this and be able to record my guitar on my phone? I don't care if its low quality or delayed. [link] [comments]
| I want my phone to be a speaker for some Bluetooth audio, how do I do that? Posted: 13 Feb 2020 11:30 AM PST I bought a Bluetooth audio device thingy for my 3DS so I can stream the audio because the volume is way too low. I tried a bunch of different apps but none of them let me listen to the audio from my 3DS. Do I need to root my phone? (It's a samsung Galaxy s8+). Is there any way to make this work with my phone? | Posted: 13 Feb 2020 11:29 AM PST Hey guys, Recently I'd been having issues with my LG XPower freezing up and rebooting while watching videos. As per my carrier's manual, I decided to check for system updates. Sure enough, there was one available and I decided to proceed with the update. The problem is that my phone now gets about 90% done with "Installing system update" before giving me an error message, and then being stuck at 0% of "Installing system update" with the screen refreshing every 4-5 seconds. I have tried the phone into both recovery mode and factory reset using the power and volume keys (power key + volume down for soft reset, then release power key briefly when LG screen shows up then hold it down again while keeping volume down key held down throughout) but the phone simply continues to reboot normally back to the "Installing system update" screen and the pattern begins again. I also tried downloading LG Mobile Tool onto my PC but the phone only connects ever so briefly to the program upon rebooting before almost instantly losing connection again when it returns to the "Installing system updates" page. Any idea as to what I can do, or is it safe to consider this a total loss? (I wish I could say what version of Android I was running prior to trying to run the update but I don't know - I think it was 6.1) Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Did the Gmail app remove darkmode? Posted: 13 Feb 2020 11:15 AM PST I keep my apps in darkmode at all times, and woke up today to find Gmail was back to bright. All my other Google apps are in dark mode, and there's nowhere in the settings to switch Gmail back to dark. Am I just blind or did something in the settings change? Thanks! [link] [comments]
WhatsApp Support Android 2.3.7 Posted: 13 Feb 2020 11:14 AM PST I'm still using a (fully working) HTC Desire S. Whatsapp says they will end support for Android 2.3.7 on february 24th. Does that mean i can't use Whatsapp at all or do i just miss out on updates? Anyone got experience on this kind of topic? Thanks [link] [comments]

One specific app just stops sending notifications Posted: 13 Feb 2020 09:40 AM PST Hello all, Okay, so I use Line as a messenger app. Randomly (sometimes daily sometimes every few days) it will just suddenly stop giving notifications on my phone. No badge numbers, no alerts of any kind. If I open the app all the new messages are there but because I don't open it every 10 minutes I never know when it decides to stop sending notifications. I have tried many many things at this point. I absolutely promise all settings for Line notifications are turned on and set to Sound. I have gone in and disabled battery optimizations for Line, made sure it bypassed Do Not Disturb (which is also turned off) and still it just randomly stops. Redownloading the app temporarily fixes the notification issue but sometimes it plays sound and sometimes it's just vibration. Inevitably it just up and stops altogether again. I have no clue what's going on but I swear all I ever see online is "make sure the notifications are on and do not disturb is turned off." It seems like no one ever has the situation of those things being in order and still not recieving notifications. I really hope you all can steer me in the right direction to fixing this problem as redownloading Line is like a 10 minute process every time. Phone Info: Samsung SM-A102U [link] [comments]
Samsung S4 mini not turning on. Posted: 13 Feb 2020 09:12 AM PST I am repairing my friends phone because it randomly shut off at 60% battery and hasn't turned on. I tried recovery mode, new battery, and even went the length to replace the charging port. What am I missing? [link] [comments]
Constant notification for Email Posted: 13 Feb 2020 08:52 AM PST I work in a cafe and we recieve catering orders via email. We have Tenley that has our email connected to it. The issue we are running into is we don't always hear the one notification per email. We are looking for something that will provide us with a constant notification until we interact with the app. Is there anything like that out there? [link] [comments]
Android 9 + TLS WLAN Certificate not showing Posted: 13 Feb 2020 08:19 AM PST Hello, dear Reddit, I need your help with the use of certificates. Recently I started in a new job where I am responsible for Android devices that should be able to communicate with other devices via Bluetooth. The company uses a certified encryption (TLS) for the WLAN the device should connect to. I had the certificate created via the Active Directory - in between also exported from my PC, or had colleagues create it, and then transferred it to the Android device (Honeywell CT60 with Android 9). There I installed the certificate and selected that it is a WLAN certificate and not a VPN certificate. In the certificate view it is visible on the device as user certificate. Now I want to connect to the WLAN. I choose TLS encryption, select the root certificate as system certificate and then try to select the user certificate Although I have installed the certificate and it appears in the control panel, it is not selectable in the WLAN menu. I had read that the certificate must have given the SubjectAlternativeName(SAN), this was not the case with us in the beginning, but unfortunately it didn't help with the SAN either. Do you have any hints for me how the certificate has to be set or what it has to contain so that it is listed as user certificate in the WLAN settings of Android 9 and I can hopefully connect to the WLAN afterwards? Many thanks and greetings [link] [comments]

Posted: 13 Feb 2020 07:32 AM PST So my I've had no problems with my Samsung J7 prime ever since I got it 3 years ago, no major issues that I couldn't fix, just some minor ones. This all started yesterday evening, my phone fell to 15% after a long day so I went to plug it in, no issues. But as time goes on I realize that the battery is draining as I'm charging it. I restarted my phone, and still nothing. I put the battery saver on mid, closed out all apps, and put the brightness all the way down (I usually have it at 25% brightness or less) and still nothing. I've tried 3 different cables and nothing seems to work. I've tried to wipe the cache partition and still nothing. When I get home I'll try to spray some compressed air to the charging port to see if it's clogged but does anyone know if it could be any other cause? [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Feb 2020 07:30 AM PST Kinda weird case here, my Huawei Mate 9's screen finally gave up on life yesterday, and I'm getting a Pixel 3 later today. I've plugged my old phone into my PC and can access the files (I managed to blind tap the "view files" button on the dead screen), but how would I go about transferring my texts across? Pictures are obviously easy, that's just a drag+drop, but not sure what to do about all the rest of my data. Thanks in advance :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Feb 2020 06:29 AM PST I'm developing a React Native application for iOS. I've only ever used iOS before, but since it's React Native, I wanted to ship it on Android as well. I got an old Android device from a friend (for free). They weren't sure if it worked anymore. I charged it overnight, but I can't figure out how to turn it on. It vibrates a little when I plug it in, shows a grey battery icon, and then shows a green battery icon with 100% charged. I tried pressing every button, but can't figure out how to get to a non-battery screen. Could I please have some advice. I can add Imgur links later if that's helpful. [link] [comments]
