| Need some help, my Brothers phone bricked today. (Galaxy J7 Perx) Posted: 26 Jan 2020 01:40 PM PST Hi everyone! So my brothers phone randomly bricked today and I'm trying to help him fix it. I'm more of a computer repair guy, so I'm a little lost on this. I'll give you all the info he gave to me and hope for the best. So he was using his phone earlier today to watch Anime. During an episode his phone froze and turned off. It took a long time to turn off he said. After that he was able to boot the phone, but it wouldn't get past his boost mobile start up screen, and would then restart and try to boot again. He was able to boot into recovery mode but could NOT access safe mode. When he went into recovery mode he got a "No input" error with the android logo with a blue X. His phone eventually died and now it won't turn on and won't charge the battery. His battery still works, we tried it in my old phone and it works and charges just fine. I've been on google a few hours but nothing has worked so I figured I would try reddit. Thank you in advance for any replies! [link] [comments] |

While typing in english i like gboard, but for typing in latvian windows phone had dedicated accent key wich made typing with accents such a fast and precise experience because of ēāīūķģžšņļ. I know this is true for other languages also but windows phone had a dedicated accent key. You typed for example e pressed special key and the last character you typed become accented in this case ē. My phone has only become faster through updates, and only recently have started to have a charging port problem. With this phone being so quick, and the camera being fantastic, what is genuinely an upgrade from it? Battery size/headphone jack isn't an issue for me. Willing to look outside of Google spectrum but am just thinking the pixel 4 xl as it stands as I enjoy the Google platform, and fluidity, but I'm curious to explore other options further. Posted: 26 Jan 2020 11:34 AM PST Just got the update to Android 10 on my Nokia 7 plus but there doesn't seem to be anyway for me to add a dark theme toggle to my pull down menu. I can change it in the display settings but that seems rather a faff when I've seen that other devices can add a toggle to the pull down menu and the typical way of adding tiles has no dark theme option at all. I'm unsure of what custom rom should I use, as I don't find a rom that says that my specific model is compatible with it. Any suggestions as to what I should do? Posted: 26 Jan 2020 12:47 PM PST I'm trying to get a shortcut on my homepage to the desktop version of Duolingo, but I can only seem to get a shortcut to the mobile site. In Chrome, I can click the 'desktop site' button and access the desktop version completely fine, but the version of Chrome used to access the shortcut doesn't have any navigation bars or settings, so I can't then select the 'desktop site' option. The outcome I want is when I click the link on the homepage, for the desktop version of the Duolingo site to open in the browser. I don't have to use Chrome for it. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 25 Jan 2020 05:38 PM PST Hey everyone, I've posted this twice on Google support forums, asked my friends that work at Google, asked T-mobile employees, everyone I know, etc. Hopefully I can get an answer. No matter which phone I use, it becomes "corrupted" and starts glitching in different apps. The biggest noticeable difference is the battery. The phone will be completely dead in about 4 hours with normal use. AFTER FACTORY RESTORING, the battery will last 12-16 or longer under normal use. Most of the time this happens right after installing an app from the Google play store. Last time it was Tiktok. A big noticable Glitch this time is the trying to reach 100% battery. I leave the phone charged and 98% is the highest it will reach. The phone shows that it is charging, but won't ever reach 100%, no matter how long it is on the charger. I unplug and plug back in and sometimes after that it will reach 100. Also I have noticed that certain random apps will not open from the notifications pull down menu when they previously did before this problem. I now have to open them from the app drawer or other location. What exactly happened to my phone? How do I fix this without formatting? How do I prevent this in the future? If anything, my friend that works at Google tells me that this is not common. This has happened to most every Android I've had, so please correct him. [link] [comments] |

I tried everything, it doesn't work. (And anyway by using a long usb cable I can reach much better wifi signal) My question is: do I ruin my phone battery if I leave it constantly charging or not? I also have a OnePlus 7 Pro which is quite new and am using the Google Messages app. Very strange. I'm assuming this is a problem on my end and not theirs. It would measure performance by simulating a heavy app, and giving me results on how my phone handled it. It would test battery life by simulating certain use types (web browsing, videos), running it consistently until my Android dies, and then telling me how long it lasted under the conditions. Does an app with these features exist? It's ok if I need 2 separate apps for wheat I mentioned. Posted: 26 Jan 2020 02:11 AM PST I'm not the savviest android tech person, but I'm very interested and am learning more every day. It would be beneficial for people to be aware of how easy it is to jeproaildize your privacy by making the mistakes I did.. I wanted to save all the files on my phone so I dragged and dropped the entire internal storage onto my laptop. I figured if I get a new phone I could copy over all the internal files and I'd have all my settings back. This didn't work for me. And, what's even worse, someone else has my data! I allowed my ex to check their email on my computer. They synced and stole all my files, including my person info from my phone! They did it in a matter of 2 minutes, and then all throughout the night my data was being saved on a cloud where I have no control who sees what. I'm writing to spread knowledge so no one makes the same mistake. I'd also like to ask if anyone know how much info they really have one me. Will they be able to mimic my personal, like I originally had intended? If so, will email passwords save them from really logging into my phone? These may seem like naive questions, but I aot of people out there need these type of things clearly explained. I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Thanks.
