- I have a One+3. A video I watched, the audio in certain sections is garbled when played on the phone speaker, but crystal clear on headphones. A friend of mine (I don't know his phone) has the same problem with this vid, but others don't have this problem.
- Screen mirror issues. Audio and screen perfect but when trying play video whether it's Netflix or other streaming no video... Anyone found a workaround? I have a Huawei P20

| Posted: 08 Dec 2019 06:29 AM PST A friend of mine has a voice assistant that device that talks out loud to give them reminders they set. Like for example my friend says to the assistant, "Set a reminder to take medication at 2pm every day." And then at 2pm every day, their voice assistant says out loud, "Here's a reminder, take medication." I tried to get the Google Assistant on my Android phone to do something similar but instead of saying my reminder out loud, it just displays a written notification on my phone. I can't figure out how to get it to say the reminder out loud. Is there a way to get Assistant to say the reminder out loud instead of just displaying a notification? [link] [comments] |

He has an s10, and I'm struggling to find out if the fast wireless charging for it is Samsung's own standard or if any QI charger with the correct wattage will be compatible. Effectively, I'd like to be able to run my favorite WM, Emacs, browser, and terminal, along with the ability to install/download dependencies. My plan with that is to be offline when I'm out, and update/install when I come home. [link] [comments] |

| Installing pre-installed app on a different android profile. Posted: 08 Dec 2019 11:27 AM PST I'm running into an annoying problem with an adroid tablet that I have. This tablet is meant for 2 people, thus there will be 2 user profiles. And I want to install Hangouts on both profiles. Now Hangouts was already installed as a pre-installed app, so that should be easy right? Not necessarily. One of the profiles on the tablet is using Kidoz (I believe) which is a child-friendly launcher. With this launcher I'm not able to acces the same apps that are on the main profile. (Some of the android settings are also limited) So I just need to install Hangouts from the play store right? Nope, that doesn't work, because Hangouts is a pre-installed app, you can't make any changes to the initial files of the app, this includes installing another version through the play store. This problem doesn't happen with only Hangouts, it happens with every pre-installed app, so pretty much all of Google's own apps, except the ones that already came installed with Kidoz. (Heck, I think it evens happens with Netflix) Might there still be a way to get this to work, or am I pretty much stuck with not being able to install pre-installed apps on this android profile? It got out of headphone mode for a few seconds, but it switched back to headphone mode and it hasn't been able to be fixed since then. If I check the IMEI with several services, it says xt2005-3(TMobile). Being unlocked, I'm supposed to be able to put A sim from anyone in the device right? My son is in Asia and trying to put in a local SIM and it won't activate. Assigns a phone number, but says emergency calls only and no verification code. Even if I'm holding my phone vertically, I wish fullscreening a horizontal video would rotate it and actually take the full screen instead of simply centering itself in a black screen. Several apps do this, notably YouTube, but certainly not all of them, notably Reddit and Firefox. Is there a way to make all apps imitate YouTube in this matter? [link] [comments] |

I can get a hTC U12+ and a pixel 3 a for about the same price. The hTC phone is last year's phone but it's more premium, and the pixel is more of a budget phone it seems but it has some advantages over the hTc one that i like. Since they're both made by hTC I really can't decide on this one. Are there folks out there who has used both? Although the possibility seems low since not that much people uses hTc these days. | New Android Phone Advice Needed Posted: 08 Dec 2019 09:10 AM PST Hello all, Long time lurker on reddit and this subreddit; this is my first post. Apologize for any extraneous details, but I hope to answer all questions in this post. I really need the Android Master Race help with this one. I am currently looking for a new Android phone and need some advice/guidance on models to look at. I am in the US and on Sprint, so I would prefer an unlocked phone (and obviously must work on Sprint). Let's get to it: I had a Moto G5 plus but gave that to the wife who has since changed phones. I now have a Moto G5s plus (4GB ram, 64GB internal storage, unlocked) and when it was new, I love(d) it. It was snappy and a budget Android that did what I needed it to. It's still a pretty decent phone but the GPS has been intermittent, at best. I got a replacement phone (twice?) from Motorola for the issue and this one still has the issue. Very frustrating. Also, the camera flat out sucks, which isn't the end of the world since I've bought a nice point & shoot camera since. The phone feels a bit slow now and I don't know whether that's just me or the phone. What I am looking for: As much as I would love to drop some serious coin on the newest Galaxy or Note (or any other flagship models), I just can't stomach that at this point for a new phone. I came across some people discussing the Pixel 3A XL (3A seems like it might be better), which seems like an interesting model (only 4GB ram, is this bad?). I really just need a phone that's snappy and has decent ram/processor that will be future proof for a few years down the road. I don't game at all and only text, call, browse the internet, and light Facebook/Youtube usage. It doesn't really have to have a nice camera, but it seems the more expensive phones all have decent cameras. Internal storage isn't a big deal since I have an SD card and can expand that, if necessary (I guess the Pixel doesn't have an SD slot). Also, I can't stand phone bloatware so minimizing this is nice. Closing Thoughts: I haven't minded the Moto experience, but the GPS issues have been awful. For a budget phone, Moto wasn't bad but I wouldn't mind stepping up or seeing what else is out there. I won't set a price point since I want to see what my options are at this point. Buying online with no sales tax would be an excellent bonus (must have?). As stated above, the phone needs to work on Sprint (unlocked, preferably) and hopefully avoid any activation fees within Sprint for switching phones, if possible. I refuse to move to iPhone since Android is the Master Race. Unfortunately, the Moto G5 turned my wife off of the Android experience and has since gotten an iPhone 8 *boo hiss*. I have a Samsung note 10 plus. Whenever i connect to ANY wifi (I have tried with in my office, my home, my sister's home), after working for a few minutes, the wifi signal changes to one with an exclamation point and it says internet may not be available. It has a simple yet irritating fix. I need to toggle my phone wifi off and on and it starts working again, until few minutes later I have to repeat the whole process again. | My co workers keep sending me apple maps pin locations via text. Posted: 08 Dec 2019 08:02 AM PST My co workers who only use apple keep sending me location pins from Apple Maps. Please tell me someone there is a quicker more efficient way to find the pin than the way I've been doing it. If I click the link which is a shared contact called "my location" or something else vauge it then opens in Google maps and drops a pin in a random location about 20-50 miles from where I actually need to go. If im not paying attention this can cause me to waste time and gas getting there.... In order to get the correct location I have to first: 1: Import the "contact" into my contacts 2: open the contact and copy the apple maps link 3: paste the link in a notepad/text editor 4: erase the link and only leave the x,y coordinates 5: copy the coordinates and paste them into Google maps.... This takes time when I'm in a hurry to meet someone for work please help me do it faster or is there an app that translates this? [link] [comments] |

I am at 15gb out of 16gb total https://i.ibb.co/5TWHKBP/file1.png I check all of the 6 tabs and each except the downloads folder states the file size, and it does not add up to 15GB, the largest folder is 3gb and rest are less than 1. the downloads folder is definitely just a folder containing the various files that are listed under the other tabs. SO WHERE IS ALL MY SPACE ?? I also checked apps section and their storage use, and this did also seems to contribute to storage use, but they are all a bunch of apps that are 40-50mb at most, with the amount of apps I have this may come close to 1GB.... I think some deleted files were never actually deleted ?? edit how much space are pre-installed apps supposed to take up in total ? Should they take up 5-10GB ? [link] [comments] |
