    Separate live wallpaper for lockscreen?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 10:30 AM PST

Is there any rom or a mod or something that allows you to set one live wallpaper for your homescreen and another, different one for lockscreen? Or at least pick a static homescreen wallpaper and then a live lockscreen wallpaper?

Such a limitation on an os that boasts about its customization seems ridiculous. I'm sure I could do this on 2.3 6 years ago.

Chinese Charger Brick in North America

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 11:31 AM PST

No sure if this is the best place to ask but with the number of Chinese phones that can be imported, I was wondering, as an alternative to a EU charger can a Chinese Charger work in North American outlets safely? From what I can tell they're shorter so in China plugging a NA charger won't work but what about here?

Random numbers in SMS from random +44 numbers.

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 11:24 AM PST

So I resetted my phone (s6) and first thing that happens is I receive a 5 or 6 digit code through SMS from a +44 number. I received these twice before. Any companies that use these? What should I do? Or am I looking into it too much?

    Weird Chromecast question

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 11:19 AM PST

So this happened yesterday and I'm still trying to figure out why. I'm at my girlfriend's house and tried to connect to her Chromecast. I accidentally selected the wrong Chromecast on the list after clicking the cast button. A few seconds later I got a text from a friend, who lives at least 1Okm from here saying that I connected to her tv. For some reason I'm able to cast videos to my friends house even though I'm on a completely different wifi network and a different place altogether. Does anyone know how is that even possible??

    Non-carrier WiFi calling solution?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 09:36 AM PST

My carrier (Red Pocket AT&T) doesn't support VoLTE or WiFi calling. I am able to make WiFi calls with hangouts for better call quality, but I feel like I have to micromanage things. Am I on WiFi, then dial from Hangouts, otherwise use the Google Voice. And incoming calls are all using cell calling not WiFi. Is there any grand solution to all of this? It seems like something Google could tie together nicely if they tried, but maybe a 3rd party has?

Disable one occurrence of a periodic alarm?

I'm a teacher, I have a set of alarm for different wakeup hours in different week days. Tomorrow, school is closed, is there a way to just disable ONE occurrence of the alarm, without disabling them all (and having to remember to turn them on again?)

What is the strange, almost hidden symbol on my Android screen?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 12:45 PM PST

There is a strange symbol on the bottom right corner of my screen. The symbol is barely visible, almost hidden. It is there when almost any app is running but it doesn't show up on screen shots. I had to take a picture of the screen with another phone. The symbol is like three ^ stacked vertically. It doesn't do anything when tapped, swiped, or long-tapped. Strange symbol on my phone. https://imgur.com/a/IN66nEH Update Question answered: it was screen burn from an obscure app.

How to get Pandora to auto start on Bluetooth connection

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 07:26 AM PST

Is there any apps out there that will auto start Pandora whenever I connect to a specific Bluetooth device?

I basically want it to auto play when it connects to my car. Pandora on its own will only do that if the car supports Pandora naively, rather than just generic Bluetooth audio. This way I don't have to take my phone out of my pocket, unlock it, and manually start it every time I get in my vehicle.

I've tried a couple apps, but none have worked.

    How to prevent volume inbalances

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 02:51 AM PST

Many times I have had the same problem, and surely everybody that uses earphones has experienced it aswell:

Once in a while when having the earphones on and whatching a local video or youtube video that has the volume too low, you increase the volume to the maximum just to barely listen to it, and once it finishes, of course you forget to turn the volume down. The next video your head explodes till you manage to turn down the volume. Is there something that can be done to prevent this situation?? I can´t find it neither in the settings nor in any app that I have seen so far.

My device battery needs calibration. Is that thing possible to do?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 10:46 PM PST

Hey everyone, I use my Android for 1 year (Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus) and I recently unlocked bootloader and rooted my phone. After Installing custom rom (Pixel Experience) based on Android 10 got some issues with battery. It drains battery pretty fast, and also, when i left my phone idle overnight at 95% (Turned off wifi, gps, bluetooth etc.) and at the morning i found 91%. When I used MIUI everything with battery was ok. Maybe my device needs calibration.. Help me.

    Moto Z3 play PA9S0017US 32GB, 32 or 64 bit OS?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 12:38 AM PST

I know the moto z3 play has 64 bit architecture, but so dose the moto g6/play and they only run a 32 bit android OS. So my question is ,even after some serious googling, dose the z3 play 32GB run a 32 or 64 bit OS. Links to the info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is it safe to download apps/games from randoms stores in chrome?

    Posted: 23 Nov 2019 11:29 PM PST

    Is this malware or something?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 12:49 AM PST

I was going through my old facebook messages and i have a message from a few years from one of my facebook friends. I dont remember if it was someone i knew or if it was someone random.

It said something like "I cant believe you would do this. Thats messed up" and it had a link.

I'm pretty sure there were more words in it though. It might have been a paragraph, probably less. Can't remember if it actually mentioned someones name or not.

I don't remember exactly what it said. It was something within those words.

The message was a few years old.

Sorry for the lack of detail, i kind of panicked and deleted the message immediately once i saw it because i've been paranoid about being hacked recently.

What would have happpened if i clicked the link? Would it have been malware? Would it have been something illegal? Would my account have been hacked?

I'm mainly wondering if it sounds like a common scam sentence or if it was just a message for the wrong person.

    OPINION: Thoughts on two phones?

    Posted: 24 Nov 2019 12:27 AM PST

Hi, I want to know other people's opinion on my specific situation.

I had the LG V20 since June 2017. It grew on me after a few months of use and became a good replacement for my old Windows Phone. For me, the totality of this phone is perfect: the convenience of the second screen, the LG-quality audio hardware, the sharp camera up to today's standards, removable battery, sharp screen, the aspect ratio and shockproof durability.

Anyway, two months ago, the rear camera glass broke off. I left it for a few days like that until I think the glass shard pierced the main camera. Now, after replacing the camera glass, there's a blurred line that appears whenever I take photos.

I plan to buy another use LG V20 and simply store the old one on one of my cabinets. One of my photographer friends advised me to just buy another phone in lieu of a point-and-shoot camera because of the convenience of the former and since he knows I'm just a photography enthusiast and not a professional (although I edit some photos with Lightroom or Polarr).

I am also thinking of buying a rear camera replacement but there were a lot of issues on LG V20 sub. And finally, I decide to limit my budget to 100-250 dollars of another phone (or a dedicated camera, if you can convince me?). I've been looking on second-hand phones and the ones that caught my eye are LG V40 and LG G7, and if I do buy another one, I would still use the V20 as my main because of its features (second screen!) then I would keep the other just for the camera.

So, for those who have more than one phone, what do you think? Is having two phones such a nuisance? If you were me, how would you work around this situation?
