- Ok so this is a bit of a weird question. I found my old android phone and would like to repurpose it. Problem is I need to enable unknown sources but I can click ok as my screen is cracked. The phone is running Android 2.3.5. Any app or other way to press the button?

| Posted: 18 May 2021 07:28 AM PDT Okay, so I've been trying to flash twrp on my Moto G6 Plus (Evert). I've successfully unlocked my bootloader. But there seems to be a problem trying to communicate with my phone. The commands aren't sent completely. For example, if i send "fastboot oem get_unlock_data", the line gets shortened to "fastboot oem get_un" and then next, if i type line example,"fastboot oem help" it gets overlapped with the previous line like "fastboot oem helplock_data". I checked the line in bootloader logs and there's blank spaces in between like "cmd: ". As a reason, i can't send the twrp package to my phone I've checked drivers, and changed a lot of cables but always end up with this. I've even tried another phone instead of a PC but again, the same issue. I've tried a lot of adb tools including minimal and mfastboot. I'd appreciate it if someone could help me with this. | Posted: 18 May 2021 12:29 PM PDT Hello everyone I use a Xiaomi Redmi 9C smartphone for some lab testing work. I use the 10x zoom function on the camera to see some details and it works well. The only problem is that the caemra goes black screen after a while. Most likely to save battery. However I need it to stay permanently at 10x zoom without interruptions. Does anyone know a workaround using the phones factory software (to avoid safety issues with third party apps). [link] [comments] |
| Unbricking Moto E5 Play, cannot flash Posted: 18 May 2021 12:11 PM PDT I have two E5 Play devices; one of which decided to fuse the charging cord to the port overnight. No idea how/why it melted itself into place, but the charge port is now melted and hopelessly broken. I have a spare E5 Play that I would like to use, but I managed to brick it a while back and threw it in a drawer. I'd like to un-brick it and get it back to a usable state--I don't care if it's a custom ROM or the stock rom. I downloaded what I presume to be the correct image from here: https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/rjames/official/ I have TWRP set up but when I try to install (files exist on SD card), it says "invalid zip file format". I'm not sure if using TWRP is the correct way to go about this. I've read that you're supposed to use fastboot and connect via USB. If I connect on USB and run "adb devices" nothing shows up. Can someone please point me in the right direction to get a fresh image installed? [link] [comments] |

| How to set Do Not Disturb to send calls to voicemail? Posted: 18 May 2021 11:02 AM PDT I use a separate phone line for work, and when calls come in through my main phone app, it disconnects my secondary line. I have do not disturb set up, but that only mutes incoming calls. I would ideally like to set it so that ALL incoming calls from my phone app go to voicemail while do not disturb is on/during specific times. If possible, I would also like my secondary phone app to be exempt from this, though that isn't a priority. Is this possible? Thanks! [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 18 May 2021 10:14 AM PDT Hello, so on my s9 I used to be able to control when I wanted to do super slow motion, currently have the s20 and I am unable to do so now, and I find the auto misses the shots I want in slow motion. Anyone know if the is a work around? I checked all the settings but can't find any options so I can press when I want it to slow mo record while recording. I would like to wipe my phone between ROM flashes but without losing anything under /sdcard. Normally I do this with the factory reset option in TWRP, but my current phone does not yet have TWRP. The phone is almost 7 inches tall and has a Poetic case on it so I was thinking something that would fit the Note 20 with an Otterbox. However I'm looking one that's not made of leather, or uses magnets. A nylon case with a buckle to close it is ideal (Velcro maybe), but Amazon has one or the other, that or doesn't list the size and instead says what phones can fit. [link] [comments] |

| Is there a way to prevent an app from EVER updating? Posted: 18 May 2021 08:11 AM PDT I have auto-updates turned off. I pick and choose what I want to update. There are some apps that I would like to keep an old version of, forever. I live in fear of accidentally hitting OK or hitting Update all. Especially since I have no reliable source of APKs now. | Can't flash a clean Android on Galaxy S21 Posted: 18 May 2021 07:04 AM PDT I just bought a Galaxy S21, and noticed that when I first installed it, it asked me what applications of the carrier I want, and I can't uncheck the starting and off screen of the carrier, so I tried to change the csc, because I bought this phone abroad. I tried to flash a clean rom from France XEF with Odin, but that doesn't change at all, still the same thing, the csc is locked of OXM_PLS no matter what I try to do. I don't want to have the carrier android but a stock one. Does someone have the same problem? [link] [comments] |

| Phone keeps loading into TWRP after I attempted to switch to PixelExperience Posted: 18 May 2021 06:37 AM PDT I have a Pocophone F1 and and I wanted to install a costum ROM called PixelExperience. So I followed a guide made by a youtuber called muncy (this one:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0L5lZS5_Qp0). Everything went well. I have unlocked the phone and with ADB I was able to replace the deafult recovery with TWRP. (Initially TWRP asked me to choose between read only mode and read and write mode. Then I chose read only, after that I rebooted TWRP got replaced with STOCK recovery.) After that I had to flash TWRP again on the phone, but wasn't prompted to choose between read only and read or write (did it remember that I chose read-only first time?(is this even important in resolving the situation?))So after that pretty much followed the guide(aside from the disableencryption part). But after I pressed "Reboot System" it just loaded back to TWRP and it keeps doing that. I don't know what to do do. Maybe using ADB in fastboot mode I could reflash the stock recovery? Posted: 18 May 2021 05:07 AM PDT Just bought a new Galaxy A12 phone and the only way to transfer photos from the old phone is by an SD card since the old phone's screen is dead and can't be used anymore unless fixed. Before the screen died, I transferred the photos to the SD card. I put the SD card in the new phone and transferred the photos from the SD card to the internal storage of the new phone, but I can't see them in the gallery. They are in the DCIM folder in internal storage but aren't registered as Images. How can I transfer them to the gallery? [link] [comments] |
