Posted: 14 May 2021 11:42 AM PDT Hi, we do not have data in our phone package and only get the option to save to "something-cloud" or 4a internal as the 4a does not have an SD card. Saving to the internal is nuts. I just tried saving the .seedvault folder it created, to my PC by USB, but there is only a few hundred bytes in it all. Pretty sure that is not the full backup. How can I get seedvault to store the backup to my PC via the connected USB cable and File Transfer? Seems the seedvault folk did not quite think this through for phones without an SD card. And no, I do not want to connect via wifi to backup to the "whatever-cloud" as our boonies-DSL is barely faster than dial up. [link] [comments] |

Part of my screen is not working at all as of a few days ago. It's hard to describe without an image but my screen looks normal. However there is a consistent space or gap from the top of my screen down to the bottom that does not function at all. For example I can't hit certain keys on my keyboard. | Does Android support multitasking or the apps also have to support multitasking too? Posted: 14 May 2021 12:02 PM PDT Does Android support multitasking? By multitasking, I mean that 2 apps will work simultaneously. Like files will be copied from phone storage to SD card storage while I watch a youtube video. I am expecting it to work as good as in PC. But I see some issues and I am not sure if its due to lacking of multitasking or apps don't support it or maybe multitasking is just not up to the mark. Or it's an issue with my device. To give an example, I have seen this issue in multiple ways, but I am just giving 1 example. I am using Samsung note 8 (sm-n950F) running on Android 9. I am using the Reddit Android App. I browse to a sub-reddit or just scroll down the list on home page. Open a post, which will link to an URL. I open that in chrome. Usually when I come back, I am able to maintain the position of the page of sub-reddit or home page. But sometimes when I comeback, (I observe that I have been at the webpage in chrome app for a long time, not sure if it's the case always) the page seems to reload and I have to go the top of the list. If multitasking is working well, this issue isn't suppose to happen, right? So, is this issue due to the OS version or device or the app? [link] [comments] |

Untill now the most i found out i can do is to download videos from Youtube Go on there (I dont really make a lot of photos). So i was teying to figure out what could i do with it, then remember watching a video quite some time ago and some guy saying that with the help of an app he moved one of his big app's to the SD card. | Weird random bugs after 4+ days uptime. Posted: 14 May 2021 11:34 AM PDT Hello, This has been happening for a few months now. Whenever I use my phone without shutting it off or restarting it for more than 4 or 5 days, random weird bugs start to show up. I've heard people say that you should restart your phone once a week to keep it fast and smooth but my device is already blazing fast and buttery smooth even after 4+ days of uptime, it's only weird bugs that seem to appear and not performance problems. Examples of weird bugs I've had are Messages for Web not syncing with Messages on my phone despite being connected, calls not showing up on my smart watch (using Samsung Gear Sport), conversation bubbles disappearing, Google Assistant being very slow, and some Instagram notifications not coming through . These sound like just problems with the individual apps but they only appear after 4 or more days of uptime and go away after restarting or shutting down my phone. This leads me to believe that there's more to it. For more information I have a Samsung Galaxy S10e, US Unlocked, Android 11, One UI 3.1, Rogers SIM Card, Lawnchair 2 as default launcher, and I uninstalled/disabled a lot of the Samsung bloatware. | Anyone still uses substratum themes Posted: 14 May 2021 11:20 AM PDT I loved using them back in the day , even brought couple of themes like swift black themes which are still getting updates. I really don't understand google's logic of giving us dark grey theme instead of AMOLED black like they give us in the settings and quick toggles page. Posted: 14 May 2021 11:05 AM PDT I want to save an image from a whatsapp conversation into the gallery (copy it from whatsapp internal storage into the real gallery). On MIUI I have 2 ways of doing this, I can either share the image, and select "Copy to" and place the image where I want, or I can open it with "View in gallery", and the gallery app for MIUI will have a "Save" option which copies it into the normal gallery. My Galaxy A71 does not provide either option, the gallery app does not allow me to copy the file, and there's no copy file option in share. My only alternative is saving the file to google drive, and downloading it, which is cumbersome. Is there any gallery app which has a save option similar to MIUI gallery? Or is there any app which provides a share intent which lets me copy or save the file? [link] [comments] |

I'd rather not go into into crawlspace to go looking for the bottom of the router lol.. Wouldn't be an issue if the Switch Lite had a camera to scan said QR code. I currently use Moon+ Reader Pro, which I really like for personal use, but my kids are constantly reaching over and touching the screen, which either zooms in wildly or advances the page and throws me off. | Phone app is showing contacts of a removed account (Contacts is showing the correct list) Posted: 14 May 2021 10:00 AM PDT On a Pixel 4A (Android 11), my (stock) Phone app is showing the contacts of a Google account which was setup on my phone (my girlfriend needed to check her email and forgot her phone at home) but has since been removed. The (stock) Contacts app is showing the correct list. I tried removing the cache and storage of both Phone and Contacts (hoping for a resync) but to no avail. Manually deleting them from the Phone app list is not ideal as it is +1000 contacts and the Phone app doesn't seem to allow multi select. Any ideas on how to remove these contacts? Posted: 14 May 2021 09:59 AM PDT I hope this is the right place to write this So i have a Samsung Galaxy J5 (2016) [sm-j500fn], on wich i wantet to install a custom android 7 rom. Now i dont know what i did wrong, but when i went to restart my phone, nothing happened, i pluged in to charge, nothing happend, not even the litte battery icon, i pressed every button combo known to man, nothing happened. Now, after googling the problem and browsing the web i found a "debrick.img". And after patching the img to a micro sd card, took out my battery, held down both volume up and down, pluged in my charger and then inserted my battery, the phone showed the charging screen, whit the text you´d normaly see on the top left corner in odin mode. But nothing else happend. I cant turn it on, i cant turn the screen of. Does anyone know how to fix this? [link] [comments] |

I've managed to unlock the phone, fortunately the password pad layout hasn't changed much, but navigating it in any way is impossible. I'm trying to mirror the screen onto a PC, but have no way to turn on USB Debugging. Is there anything I can do to accomplish this? I've downloaded a few programs, but none seem to be able to work without that setting enabled. Note, the screen is broken, broken. When turned on, it is bright white and nothing shows up whatsoever. | Samsung phone seems to detect Chromecast Posted: 14 May 2021 08:17 AM PDT When I change the volume on my Samsung Galaxy S10, instead of the regular volume icon, a (chrome)cast-icon appears. In YouTube I also see a Chromecast icon, but there is no such device connected to my network (only my phone and desktop) and nothing out of the ordinary appears in the 'devices' and 'media' panel. When I tap the icon on YouTube and hit 'Nearby device', it asks for a pin. Does anyone know why it seems my phone thinks there is some type of Chromecast connected? See screenshot. | Posted: 14 May 2021 04:18 AM PDT I would like to know if it is possible in any way to watch movies from a USB drive on my phone without downloading the movies itself onto my phone because I know it will mess up the storage and make the phone slow (or atleast slower than it already is lol).
