Unknown apps with numbers for names using mobile data

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 12:31 AM PDT

Going through the list of monthly data usage on my Huawei p30 I see that I have some apps named "10316" and "10323" that have both used a little over 9mb of data, the first only used mobile data, and only on a single day, the other also only used mobile data, and the only time it used the data was today. The icon on these apps seems to be an android logo. What are these apps?

    Having issues with content lock

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 12:00 PM PDT

So i use content lock for some photos I have, but can't get the pin and since I added a new fingerprint (my other hand), I can't get into it without the pin, is there any way to recover the locked files or not? The content lock pin is the same as my protection PIN for Authy (two step authentication app), I can access authy fine as it still accepts my fingerprint, but dunno if I can use that to see my pin

How to readback TCL LX (A502DL, MT6739) EMMC through SP Flash Tool if I can't remove the battery?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 11:27 AM PDT

    Hello,

Looking to backup the ROM on my LX using the SPFT, but I can't seem to put the phone in the proper mode to do so. SPFT gives me the STATUS_BROM_CMD_STARTCMD_FAIL 0xC0060001 error and hints at me to remove the battery, plug in USB, and hold down the volume down key. Is there any other way to do this, given the fact that the battery is non-removable?

Any and all help appreciated. Thank you.

Default voice-to-text option keeps getting changed to the Samsung version

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 11:06 AM PDT

I am on a vanilla S9 running Android 10. Since I've owned the phone (2018), I can click the little microphone in the keyboard options (I'm using the default Samsung keyboard) to bring up the Google voice-to-text. Lately, my phone seems to automatically switch to the Samsung voice-to-text. I change it to Google, and it'll keep for maybe a day, then revert back. Does anyone know how to force it to stay on the Google voice-to-text?

    Cheetah mobile games

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 10:15 AM PDT

Hey, I recently switched from an iPhone 8 to a Note 20 Ultra, and I wanted to get two games from my iPhone to my new phone. Those two games were Dancing Line and Piano Tiles 2. I heard they got removed for some sort of data stealing, but I was wondering if there was a way to download them and then disable permissions. Any help is appreciated.

Hello guys, an hour ago I broke my cellphone, it's completely unusable and I have lost some really valuable photos, the USB debugging was off, my phone is a moto g5, Is there a way I can mirror the screen to my laptop or any way that would help me recover my data? Pd: English is not my mother language so I'm sorry if this is not very understandable.

    Is Alcatel A3 10 unrootable?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 08:51 AM PDT

I own an Alcatel A3 10 tablet, pretty old running Android 7. I want to gain root access to it.

From what I understand, I need to flash a custom recovery and install a superuser app from there.

I have checked the OEM unlocking from the developer options.

However, I am unable to reach the fastboot mode. I have tried every conceivable key combo I found in the internet, but nothing works. I can only reach either the stock recovery or the regular Android boot.

I do not wish to use those sketchy apps that profess to exploit root vulnerabilities to give you root access and install a ton of malware in the process.

Is there any other option I have failed to notice?

Samsung A40 has both the power and volume buttons broken, and it just ran out of battery

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 07:55 AM PDT

Hi! My samsung A40 had the volume and power buttons broken and I have been very careful to prevent it from running out of battery. Unfortunately, for some reason the charger did not work today and the phone turned off. It is now fully charged, however I cannot turn it on.

I have been reading some forums and tried installing Android Studio and Minimal ADB fastboot as indicated in some websites, but I haven't managed to figure it out. Is there any way I can turn it on?

    Thank you

Can't pinch to zoom in/out on a page if pinching on image

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 06:52 AM PDT

I don't know exactly when this started happening but it seems to be getting worse and it's getting incredibly annoying. Whenever I'm on certain sites, Amazon homepage being the absolute WORST offender, I can't pinch to zoom in unless I'm pinching outside the borders of some image or frame, as if it locks out that function entirely on certain parts of the screen.

When I go to the Amazon homepage now, I have to pretty much use my finger nail on the search bar because the page is so damned tiny on my phone screen, to bring up my keyboard where before I'd just do a quick zoom and click on the bar with my thumb.

It's getting worse and happening on more and more websites, currently I'm on play asia browsing products via thumbnail but can't zoom in or out on the page unless I'm outside the borders.

I'm using the Samsung internet browser, but I've never had this issue before. I seem to recall even having issues with Amazon zooming on my iPad as well with either Firefox or Safari. What gives? Is there some new bug in website functionality that's causing this? Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm really getting sick of this. I thought maybe it was just Amazon at first, then I considered it might be a slightly dirty screen protector dirty from a thumbprint or two, but I have similar issues on my iPad so I don't think that's the case. I'm hoping it's just some kind of setting I need to adjust but none of the settings I've tried fixed the issue.

If you go to a website using your phone's internet browser, does that website get more information than if you went to that same website on your computer?

    Posted: 19 Aug 2020 09:18 PM PDT

Would the website get information which can allow them to identify you? Would it get your phone's MAC address? Does using WiFi instead of mobile data make a difference?

Any safe way of cloning a banking app?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 02:17 AM PDT

Because of a new job I have in a different city, I had to get a new bank account different from my personal/private one, thing is the new account is in the same group of banks and I using the app is mandatory to even login on PC, but the app doesn't allow me to have multile accounts and every time I want to check/use one or the other I have to wipe the app data and start from scratch with all the security processes and authentications and it's a pain. Easy alternative would be getting a second phone, but that would literally be a waste of money... any suggestion? Thanks in advance

Support Won't help me - How to fix a Boot Loop when recovery options don't work?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 05:15 AM PDT

    Hi all,

Recently my Huawei P20 lite went into a bootloop, never been modified. I'm quite sure this a firmware issue. Usual recovery combinations don't load a safeboot. If I plug my phone into my PC, I can get into a fastboot, (which reads PHONE locked, FRP lock, rescue mode enter all in green) but this tells me to install Hisuite (and then to send my phone to a repair centre).

However, after sending the device to two different (carrier and manufacturer) repair centres, both have claimed the phone has suffered from "liquid contamination". One sent me pictures of slight discolouration in the earphone and USBC ports as proof of this, but as far as I'm aware, this is not the case. The phone went into this loop one morning with no exposure to liquids. Additionally, the phone still attempts to boot when turned on. I'm quite ametuerish when it comes to this, but surely if a handset has water-damage, it doesn't cause firmware issues and a bootloop?

I think the only solution left to me is to flash it, but I have no idea where to begin with this. Most of the guides I come across assume full access to the device, which I currently don't have - does anyone have any advice?

This headset button configurer app is now gone, is there an up to date alternative?

    Posted: 20 Aug 2020 04:48 AM PDT

    https://apkpure.com/headset-button-controllertrial/com.kober.headset

I used to use this back in the day with my wired earbuds on my Galaxy A3. It's no longer on the Play Store, so I don't want to download from sketchy sites (since it has a paid version, and i'd have much rather bought that now), and it seems... outdated, to say the least. Are there any alternatives that are more up-to-date? I'd like to use it with my Motorola Vervebuds 110 wireless earbuds.

Is there an android equivalent of iTunes?

    Posted: 19 Aug 2020 10:42 PM PDT

I've been an android user for over a year now and I'm still struggling to find solid music transfer software (paid or free) that isn't "Drag and Drop."

Initially, I used iSyncr which worked great but won't transfer playlists for some reason.

I then moved to MusicBee who's interface is great but only allowed me to sync playlists.

Currently, I'm using MediaMonkey which is probably the best thing I've used so far. However, it's very inconsistent when it comes to successful syncs and it's not that great for a PC music player.

I considered Google's service, but I have upwards of 500 gbs of music and I think it'd make the process more complicated as I like to sort my music in a specific fashion on my pc.
