Hi! I will soon get the LG B9 4K and I was wondering which was the best Android TV box I could get for 4K movies? I got all stored in Jellyfin on my home server, and I can plug the Android TV box directly onto my internet box by cable.

I heard a lot of good things about the ShieldTV, is it the best option right now?

Make android tv into a smart display

Hi is it possible to turn an android tv into some sort of smart display?

Nothing special but i just want my android tv to display the time, weather forecast and my activites (in the google calendar) and is it also possible that I could schedule this with google assistant to enter this 'mode' every morning?

Sony Smart Android TV randomly rebooting

Good Afternoon Reddit friends,

I'm creating this post because I started having issues with my Sony Android TV, below the info about the TV and then the steps I've taken to troubleshoot/attempt to fix with various steps that I found online.

TV Specs:

Model: KDL-65W850C

Firmware: v5.435

Software: Android 7

What I think happened but i'm not certain:
2 days ago, I turned off the TV and disconnected it from the outlet to plug in my CPU. This was to use my CPU with a VR headset. I used this maybe for an hour or so, once I finished I plugged it back in and shortly after I started playing a Youtube Video, at first it was working but just really slow and skipping the video. I did a normal restart and once I started doing the normal restart (turn off and turn back on through the settings, not erasing) it started doing the random crashes where it randomly shuts off (I see the light below the sony logo turn off) and turn back on showing the SONY logo screen and then the android boot up , this happens at random and minutes after turning it on. Doesn't matter if i'm in settings, youtube, netflix. It doesn't matter.

Various Troubleshoot steps:

1) Manual Reset of TV: Settings > Reset > Yes > Would show the animation that I clicked on yes, but no action would take place.

2) Hard Reset > Unplugged TV > Power and Volume Down > While holding the buttons, power up > Shows green light > Release buttons > Goes through the normal Sony logo screen and android and its back to normal screen, still doing the same thing. No prompts. nothing.

3) Recovery Mode > press and hold the power button while the TV is unplugged for 3 seconds or more > same outcome > logo and android

4) Power Cycle > By leaving it unplugged for more than 5 minutes.

5) Tried un-register my google account but the "unlink" does nothing in the settings.

6) Tried the pro mode and also secret menu that I found on YouTube, if i'm not mistaken the steps are

"Display," "5" and the "+" volume up button.

But once again , no luck.

If anybody can think of something or want me to try something else, I would really appreciate it.

How uninstall third party apk

I have installed few apk via xplore but I can't find a way uninstall it but which I downloaded from google store that i can uninstall but not the third party apps. Also can you suggest me good file explorer.
