| Some MP3s only play in the right ear Posted: 04 Apr 2020 05:44 AM PDT I have recently migrated away from using Spotify and I've been experiencing an issue where some songs only play in the right headphone: https://youtu.be/9iTwHrbUbEw These MP3s have been copied from my SMB server directly to my phone. The same MP3s copied from the same server to my computer play fine in Rhythmbox on Linux and Groove Music on Windows. I also found that copying the songs from my computer onto an SD card and inserting it into my phone, produces the same issue. I manually tagged all the MP3s on my phone with id3v2, a Linux command line tool for tagging songs. My observations are:

| How can I stop bluetooth from disconnecting my hearing aids? Posted: 03 Apr 2020 08:12 PM PDT I have a Samsung Galaxy A20 on Android 9. I've been away from Android for a couple years now. I have Phonak Audeo Marvel bilateral hearing aids. They're connected to my phone 3 times - once for Left side, once for Right side, and again for Right side to stream/take calls through my hearing aids. However, I notice that whenever my phone has been inactive for a period of time, my hearing aids disconnect. I don't know if it's a quirk of bluetooth, or a quirk of battery optimization. I've talked to my audiologist and it's neither the app I use to control my hearing aids, or the aids themselves. If anybody has any advice, I'd appreciate it. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 04 Apr 2020 09:19 AM PDT I was digging around and apparently, apps like Instagram have permission to see all of the accounts hooked into my phone. Why the fuck do they need this and why can't I disable it? I don't need Facebook knowing my Reddit account. This is ridiculous. Exemple: I have an app connected to a water sensor that sends me notifications when it touches water. When my phone is on vibrate or silent mode it doesn't ring, it just vibrates... | S10 Won't Update Security or Software Posted: 04 Apr 2020 11:58 AM PDT I purchased an S10 that was factory unlocked by Samsung in October. I am on AT&T as my carrier. When I started it up, it had security updates dated Sept, 2019, One UI v1.1, and is running Android 9. After a few months of not getting updates while my wife's AT&T S8 got a few, I checked for updates manually. I got the 'Current software is up to date' message. Going forward to now, I still have no updates and the versions are all the same as when I got the phone. I've called AT&T and Samsung and they both said they didn't know how to fix this. I have followed all of the steps I could find to clear this up and had no luck.
Short of going the root direction, I don't know what else to try. I recognize that unlocked devices seem to get patches a little later than the carriers (which is odd), but I'd expect something to be taking place. Is the unlocked route really this terrible? I see no advantage to even offering this as an option. Any ideas before I give up and either go to the root direction or buy a different phone? [link] [comments] |

| Android stucks at "Optimization programs 1 from 1" when i start it Posted: 04 Apr 2020 09:57 AM PDT Device: Sony Xperia SP(C5302) Android Version: 4.3 My English can be not very good. After installing program "Document Viewer"(from developer called "Audio and Video Player") from Google Play, notification and navigation bar(virtual) stuck and screen became black(except nav. and not. bars) and device stopped responding on any actions.I opened it's rear cover and pressed yellow button to restart it.After system loaded, a window with Sony's loading(5 sticks, i can give a photo of this) appeared with "Updating Android..." and "Optimization programs 1 from 1." texts.After about 5 seconds loading stops and phone doesn't respond for call or charging.All that i can do is to restart it or restart and plug into charger(when i charge it it normally shows a battery and red LED turns on as always).My goal is to delete this program, but i don't know how to do it(as my phone stucks and doesn't respond to any action as i said before).I have computers with Windows 7 and 8.1 pro(second one doesn't see the phone).Phone isn't rooted and it's my grandmother's(she gave it to me in 2020) from 2014.I can give you URL for this program.I think that main problem is that program.If anybody knows what to do, let me know it, please.Maybe loading it in safe mode will help?(only if you know how to enable it on Sony Xperia SP C5302 if it's turned off).I can't even "only turn it off", i can only restart it(but if i plug it to charger and unplug, it will just turn off). Posted: 04 Apr 2020 09:39 AM PDT I read the guide on the page for "MagiskHidePropsConf", but it doesn't help me very much, because for one, it just expects you to know how the command has to look instead of just providing some example commands, and (and that's my issue here) doesn't provide any examples for stock fingerprints. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S6, so maby the fingerprint should be " zerofltexx"? I honestly have no idea... I have tried to install the module "SafetyPatch", and that used to fix it, but it no longer does, making me fail both the "ctsProfile"-check (which I currently still do) AND the "basicIntegrity"-check. So in a nutshell, I'd like to restore my device fingerprint in SafetyNET, mainly so I can watch Netflix again (also what the f*ck Netflix, this just gives me a reason to support piracy). Everytime I try to message anyone that I have not yet message before I cant message them and I always get this: "Send failed. You account's phone number has been confirmed by another messenger account. You cannot initiate thread with people that do not have you as a contact." Any helpful tips will be appreciated. I didn't want to replace the screen because I'm not using that phone anymore. I can only confirm that the phone can be turned on because my computer recognized it. Do you guys have any suggestions on what I can do or should do? Much appreciated. Also, with the corona virus thing going on, there aren't any tech repair stores I can go to right now. | What can a mobile service provider access on your phone? Posted: 04 Apr 2020 06:56 AM PDT On android, when I put in a SIM card, the service provider now has a connection to my device. What does that connection consist of? Can an SP for example, turn my GPS on remotely? Can they send a script that makes my phone copy and send all my pics to a remote server? Can an SP inject changes to my settings? The key word here is CAN they, not would they. Could they perform these and similarly invasive actions on my device and if so how precisely would this most likely happen? | Password on my phone doesnt work Posted: 04 Apr 2020 09:22 AM PDT So like a month ago my brother came in drunk at night and tried ro access my phone but he didnt know the password. So he tried a ton of times until he gave up. The next morning i tried to type in my password...it doesnt work. Luckily i still have face recognition and fingerprint but if my phone shuts down i will not be able to open it again since it requires you to type in the password. This night I received a software update notification so I let it update as usual, however I think a Device Care auto-restart must have interrupted the phone software update, or the update itself must have introduced an issue (other causes seem unlikely, responds to fingerprint sensor but will not accept fingerprint scan to unlock), either way, it locked me out of the device as I could not use pattern or fingerprint to unlock. After failed attempts on other solutions I tried a factory reset. That didn't work either, even after factory reset the screen is unresponsive, but fingerprint sensor slide still responds to touch as it lights the screen up from idle. The phone was working normally just before the software update so other issues such as hardware issues are unlikely. EDIT: I tried flashing back to stock firmware, unfortunately that didn't solve the issue. Is there anything I can try to solve this on my own? Right now I don't know if any repair shops are open around here due to the whole situation out there. [link] [comments] |

| Messenger voice clips not playing on Huawei p30 pro Posted: 04 Apr 2020 02:36 AM PDT For a while now whenever I receive a voice clip (which is often), I just get "error" when trying to play it. It works on the messenger lite app but that doesn't have chat heads which I really want. I tried clearing to cache, reinstalling the app and checked the permissions for storage. When I clear the cache it works for about 2 messages then just starts failing again. Google doesn't seem to be much help. Anyone else experienced this? The only "solution" I have found is forwarding the voice clip to myself, then I can listen to it but that is a pain! [link] [comments] |
