Xbox controller flashing after pairing to Sony Bravia Android TV

    Posted: 15 Feb 2020 07:46 AM PST

I'm having a strange issue when trying to pair an Xbox One controller to my Bravia Android TV. I've successfully paired the controller to the TV, but the Xbox button on the controller constantly flashes and no inputs register on the TV.

    Any ideas?

App to send links to download while not at home

    Posted: 15 Feb 2020 07:00 AM PST

So when I'm not at home, I want to be able to send links (via my Android phone for example) which will automatically start downloading? And will be ready to watch on my Shield when I get home. Not unlike RSS feed functionality but with the ability to send obviously. Thanks for any suggestions!

I have tried the following with no luck : 1- play store : app installed- doesn't work 2- apk for Android TV : doesn't install , 3- apk for Android : install and open , but app doesn't show in drawer or favorites!

    Help plz

Edit : I don't think it's a location restriction because I was able to get it installed and working on an iPad with a US account !

How I connect my Sony Bluetooth headphones to my Sony Bravia TV, day-to-day use

    Posted: 14 Feb 2020 01:12 PM PST

    TV: Sony XBR-65X950G

    BT Headphones: Sony XB950N1

AFTER you had already paired/registered the headphones with the TV:

    • power ON the headphones (L ear)
    • then press down the PLAY button (R ear). There is a FF, Play, Previous control on the R ear.

Yes it's that easy but Sony doesn't publish this for these headphones for some reason. Maybe they're included with other headphone models but this is my first set and I was scratching my head as to why is this always such a painful process. The way I USED to connect was getting into the TV Settings/Devices/Bluetooth/click on the registered headphones model/Connect and boom it worked.

I read this somewhere else on Reddit but couldn't find that post to confirm.

    New Shield, advise required

    Posted: 14 Feb 2020 09:27 PM PST

Wasup guys. Just getting the new shield delivered today and can't wait to get home to set it up. Few questions and requests coming up.

Can anyone link me to the latest hotstar for Android TV app as my play store doesn't have the app listed.

For IPTV which is a better software (irl vs mate), i intend to use it with SS.

Any other tips welcome as this is my first Android TV device replacing my ageing mac mini.

    Thanks a ton.

    Favourite Apps keep disappearing

    Posted: 14 Feb 2020 02:46 PM PST

Apps installed on my flash disk disappear from favourites every time I power off the TV. It's so irritating to keep adding them each time only for them to be removed with every restart.

This happens even when I switch it off via remote overnight and turn it on in the morning.

I live in a 3rd world country - 🇰🇪 which experiences power disruptions so I prefer to switch it off at the socket when I'm not in.

Any way to stop this from happening? TV is Sony X950G
