Watching 4k videos on a Philips Android TV Posted: 03 Feb 2020 06:13 AM PST I have a PHILIPS 55OLED854 since black friday. Of course, what I like is to watch movies in UHD on my beautiful screen. However, this has not always been the perfect experience I would expect. So far, only the internal player, launched via "Network Media" is giving me the best experience. VLC or Kodi either do not work properly, or the image is not as good as with the native player. Even, the native player often stop during playback, or buffer, while the same movies play fine on a PC running VLC on the same LAN (all connected by ethernet). Would anybody recommend another option? Software? [link] [comments] |
Mibox s updated to Android Tv 9 not playing videos when bluetooth headset is conected Posted: 03 Feb 2020 12:47 AM PST I have a cheap bluetooth headset which I use in the late evenings to watch content which was working quite fine untill the updated (This past Saturday 01/02/20 - South Africa). All works ok so far untill I connect my bluetooth headset, then videos don't play. Youtube would start playing a video and get stuck on the first frame, Netflix loads slowly to 24%, similar issues with emby and all other services (I haven't tested with local videos). Once I disconnect the headset all works well again. I have tried re-pairing the device, restart the Mibox etc. Could anybody provide some help with this. [link] [comments] |
Old Purchases No Longer Compatible? Posted: 02 Feb 2020 02:20 PM PST I put a tv in my daughter's room and wanted to load some of my old purchases on the box and found that they will only install to my phone now. Examples: MinecraftLego Jurassic WorldMickey Mouse Castle of Illusion What gives? Is there a way around this? The simpler the better. The devices I'm trying to install to are an old Asus Nexus Player and 2017 Shield TV. Thanks for any assistance [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Feb 2020 10:28 AM PST I have 4k enabled in all my settings on the fire stick but the superbowl pregame isn't outputting at 4k or HDR. I read an article that the pregame as well as the game will bee displayed in 4k but don't know how to get it to work. EDIT: I read another post and figured it out for anyone else wondering the same thing, I went into display settings on the firestick and had to set it from auto to always 2160p and under dynamic range settings to always HDR and now it displays correctly, you'll just want to change those settings back after the game. Mi Box 3 + HD HomeRun = no 1080i/50 Hz Posted: 02 Feb 2020 12:24 PM PST Hello, I recently bought a HD HomeRun Duo for Europe channels DVT-T/T2 (France). I use it on my international version of the Xiaomi Mi Box 3 running on Oreo firmware (8.0) on official Android TV. After having everything installed perfectly, I noticed :
Thank you for you answers. [link] [comments] |
Mi Box S - no wifi or bluetooth Posted: 02 Feb 2020 10:05 AM PST Hi, my Xiaomi Mi Box S has just lost all connectivity - neither BT remote does connect to it, nor it can discover or connect to any WiFi network. When I plug a WiFi dongle from another remote (Wechip W1) I can control the device, but it obviously doesn't repair the WiFi issue. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Answering possible questions: - yes, I've tried system reset, no changes, - the remote itself does work, I'm able to pair it with my phone and operate there. [link] [comments] |

Sony Android TV - app for viewing pictures Posted: 02 Feb 2020 12:03 PM PST So here's the thing: I have a big hard drive with hundreds of folders, some of which contain pictures I want to view on my Sony XF9005 (X900F). It's important that I'm able to browse through the original folder structure on the drive, because otherwise it's just a mess. The apps I've used so far (the preinstalled album, PhotoGuru, Photo Gallery, Kodi) mostly don't have that or are just unable to display the pictures I want to view. They are often over 30 Mpx, therefore bigger than the native resolution of the TV. That means that the picture is either displayed wrong with horrible digital artifacts), takes forever to load and often the whole app just crashes. Is there some app that supports folder structures on USB-connected drives and can manage to relatively quickly browse through (and properly downscale) big pictures? My previous slightly cheaper Panasonic smart TV had no problem with that out of the box, so come on, Android has to have something - right? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Feb 2020 06:57 AM PST Both the YouTube app and smart YouTube app are not working. Heck I have a Roku and it's not working there either. It gets to the home screen without anything loading. I can't navigate the app or anything. It looks like this. Anyone experiencing something similar or have any ideas? I'm using a shield 2015, it will work if I cast videos to it, but that's a poor workaround imo. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 02 Feb 2020 11:11 AM PST FYI, I am using FuboTV, a mibox S and a Vizio 4k tv (M55, 2017 model) and I am getting the superbowl broadcast in 4k (yes I know it's upscaled) and HLG HDR!!!! I didn't know the mi box S supported HLG, but I knew some of the vizios did....and was pleasantly surprised when it popped up on the info bar! [link] [comments] |
