| Posted: 16 Feb 2020 09:06 AM PST OnePlus 7 pro on Verizon. I have up to date software for everything I'm aware of and have tried different builds of messages to try and fix the issue. It's not that I can't turn chat features on, it's that I'm not given the option in the first place. I've tried searching for answers and have not gotten anywhere yet. | Volume Lowers by itself? Phantom Notification? Posted: 15 Feb 2020 11:47 PM PST I have a Moto g7 power. The volume when I listen to Spotify or YouTube has a weird quirk. It will lower slightly, then raise back up to the volume I was listening to, as if I got a notification. However, when I check to see my notifications there's nothing new there. Anyone else having this phantom notification problem? It's strange, and it happens pretty frequently. Ideas to what this is? Could it be a sign of a threat or an app doing something in the background? [link] [comments] |
| Galaxy S10 Plus constantly notifying me when it's locked and charging Posted: 16 Feb 2020 11:03 AM PST This only happens when my phone is locked and it started happening maybe a couple weeks ago. But basically, when it's plugged in, charging, and locked, I get constant notifications for what my battery percentage is. Like every other minute. It's so annoying, I don't know why it started doing this or what setting to adjust to fix it. If anyone else has run into this problem or knows how to help, your advice would be greatly appreciated. | Messages RCS keeps creating new Group Chats when hitting "Start a chat" Posted: 16 Feb 2020 09:53 AM PST Hi, I have my entire family using Messages with RCS enabled and we have a family group chat. Often, this group chat gets buried and instead of scrolling, I usually just find it by hitting "Start a chat..." and typing in the names of my family manually. After typing in all the names, when I hit the arrow to continue, this would previously bring up the previous group chat that had all the members. However, now with them all having RCS, it creates a new group chat each and every time. It's quite annoying, as I can still see the old group chat if I scroll down and find it (wanted to confirm it wasnt overwriting it) so id have thought everything would still have worked. Everytime I have to send a file across the personal file manager to the work profile one, I have to use a cloud service or a pendrive. I'm running with the stock Phone and Contact apps from Samsung, and in the past I was able to show contacts that were in a specific Google Contact group. A while ago, whenever I got Android 9, I believe the Samsung Phone and Contact apps changed. Is there a way to restore this behavior? For example, I have a group of contacts that are work related and I rather not show these in my contact list, but I also don't want to delete them. In the past, I would just hide the "work" group from my contacts from showing up. Do I need to change phone/contact apps? [link] [comments] |

| A Storage Problem. Please Help. Posted: 16 Feb 2020 11:17 AM PST Over the past few days my Samsung Galaxy Tab A tablet has had a problem with storage. The storage capacity has been slowly diminishing. I haven't downloaded any new apps, taken any new pictures, taken any new videos, or downloaded any files, yet the storage keeps decreasing. Also whenever I go to Device Care and try to clean out my cache data ( I do this daily) there is no longer the option to do so. The "clean now" feature does not appear anymore. After losing 1.5 gigabits of storage I did a factory reset and it still hasn't resolved my problem. Does anyone know what is going on? [link] [comments] |

I noticed today that the screen is bulging out in the middle (the light leaking out from behind it in this photo). Is this something to be concerned about, is it about to explode or something? | Did my phone die? Restart Loop Posted: 16 Feb 2020 10:49 AM PST Hey, I have a Lenovo P70 phone, been using it for 5 years till now. A week ago it randomly went into a restart loop and I googled solutions and found I can go into safe mode, opening factory mode and opening the boot menu (all didn't work out). It frequently logged into the device but didn't pass one minute until it went to the loop again. I've took it to a trusted shop and had them reflash it and after a lot of flashing tries (they said my phone resisted flashing) it worked and my phone operated normally, until I took it out of the store to find it went back to the loop. Now it just stays on a black screen with "Fastboot mode" written in the bottom after a couple of self-restrating. Should I give up on it or is there is something to do? [link] [comments] |
| Recovering photos from a device that didn't have a gmail account open Posted: 16 Feb 2020 10:43 AM PST My aunt is currently on a trip in Europe and she ran out of memory to store more photos. I was able to access her gmail account to download them for her through google photos, but I had to change the password because she didn't remember it. After I finished downloading them today, I told her she could delete some off her phone since they were on my computer, but she deleted pictures from today and I had downloaded the backup yesterday, so those pictures were not included. Moreover, It didn't occur to me that since I changed the password, her account logged off and those pictures were not being synced with google photos, so they were not backed up, and they also don't appear on her trash in order to be restored. Is there any other place they could be restored from? I found an app that supposedly works for data recovery, but she doesn't know a thing about cellphones or computers (thus why I'm trying to save them remotely), and she doesn't understand how to use it to recover them. She triggered the lock screen message on my phone rather than her own by mistake. I now have a permanent notification that displays the message to contact her and there seems to be no way to get rid of it via my actual phone or find my phone app. Can someone please tell me how to mark it as found I can still use it, it's just doing my head in. Interestingly enough when I place a phone call on speaker, I can hear the person through the bottom speaker like normal. However the earpiece is totally dead and the bottom speaker doesn't work when I play media... Basically as if I had an aux cable plugged in.... I checked to make sure nothing was stuck in my aux port and it seems normal.... I did two or three phone reboots and nothing.. any ideas how this could happen? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 16 Feb 2020 09:34 AM PST So in order to activate my google pay UPI system, my phone needs to be able to send a text message from my sim to do verification. But the catch is that the screen cannot be changed from when I press the verify button until the number is verified. I'm unable to find anything of this sort on the Internet. Basically, what I need is for my phone to send a custom SMS to the caller whenever I don't answer the incoming call. That's it. A second best would be an answering machine that plays a voice message to the caller when the phone is set to "Do not disturb". I woke up this morning to a message that said "Google is verifying your number for Chat features" with a code at the end. I've had my phone since August and haven't known about chat features and thus never initiated a verification for it. My biggest concern right now is if my SIM was hijacked/cloned and someone else activated chat features, especially since my phone was on, and it happened in the middle of the night while I was sleeping. Help please? Update: Dug through my carrier forums, they have been phasing in RCS/"chat features" on android for about a month. Mine just got phased in. [link] [comments] |

We were sending messages, and suddenly, my messages wouldn't send and nothing was being sent from them either. A few minutes later, all of their messages came in in a nonsensical order.
