Is it possible to route some apps through mobile data and some through wifi? Posted: 03 Feb 2020 07:50 AM PST This is kind of an out-there question, but is it possible to have a LTE and WiFi going simultaneously? I'd like to connect my phone to the WiFi to use as a hub for a raspberry pi device so I can do some data-heavy work on it, but I'd also like to keep my LTE connection open for other, more sensitive stuff that I don't want necessarily going over WiFi. Is there any sort of routing app or something I can use to tell apps to use WiFi or LTE? This is a really out-there request, so I won't be surprised if it's not possible lol. [link] [comments] |

Once my current (PHONE A) phone is repaired am I able to transfer my chats from my interim(PHONE B) phone to current phone(PHONE A) ? Caller ID and Spam protection notification keeps coming back Posted: 03 Feb 2020 06:17 AM PST I'm using a note 10+. I don't want this service, I do not use this service, it's turned off in my phone settings. But every few days I'll get a notification asking me if I want to turn it on. It looks like this How do I stop getting these notifications for a service I don't want or use? [link] [comments] |
How is Chrome still automatically downloading things even though automatic downloads are blocked? Posted: 03 Feb 2020 10:57 AM PST Before I convinced her to start using Samsung Internet with Adblock, one of my relatives often visited a Baidu-owned site in Chrome and the Google app. The site hosted many ads and popups that would open in the background, some of which led to apks for what we assume was adware or malware (luckily, she deleted the files immediately after they downloaded instead of installing them). I told her to block automatic downloads for Chrome in the settings but that seemed not to have fixed anything, as her notifications would still show that chrome has downloaded adware.apk or something without her doing anything. It should be noted that she had popup blocking enabled. She hasn't had the chance to test whether the downloads were still happening after blocking them were app dependent (Chrome vs. Google) or not. Videos on FB Messenger not sending correctly Posted: 03 Feb 2020 10:08 AM PST Not sure if my device or the app is to blame here, but the issue just started last week. Whenever I try to send a video to someone, it only sends one second of the clip. I've deleted Messsenger. I've cleared cache/data. Still happening. Using a Huawei Mate 10 Pro on ATT. Can't remember FindMyDevice password. Posted: 03 Feb 2020 09:55 AM PST Title pretty much says it all. I was in the middle of chemo, left my phone behind out of town, locked it with FindMyDevice and borrowed a phone. Got my phone back a couple weeks later and can't remember what password I used. I tried all of the usual passwords and only have 4 attempts left. I tried to go to FindMyDevice online and change it there, but can only get my current phone to show up. Does anyone know a way to make my old phone show up so I can reset that PW? (I'm assuming it used security questions or something, but really don't remember anything.) Would putting the current SIM card in the old phone mess anything up? [link] [comments] |

Can anyone recommend a LOUD phone under £150/$200? Posted: 03 Feb 2020 12:29 AM PST Been looking for a phone for my grandmother to stay in touch with family. She mainly only uses WhatsApp video and calls and currently has an iPhone 6 which is a bit low on the volume when using the speaker. Can anyone recommend an android phone that they've experienced has a reasonably loud speaker for calls? Did a bit of googling which only shows recent models which are a little out of budget. Thanks. "other" storage is high. Common problem but I couldn't find answer. Ran "diskusage" app... Posted: 03 Feb 2020 11:44 AM PST "other" storage is high. Ran "diskusage" app and it lists "SdCardBackup" at 9gb. What's that? Is it separate from my SD card which has most of my videos and photos(and which only has 20.5/59.6 used)? Internal is 55.04/54 used, of that 55, 37.86 is "other". Can I delete this SDbackup or will it affect the sd card? Is the 9gb actually a backup of my SD card and do I need it? All of my photos seem to back up onlne to google photos, I don't think I need them on the card, in the cloud and also in a backup file on phone. Or am I confused?? I tried to post a screenshot, but apparently images aren't allowed on here. [link] [comments] |

Secure folder mode for apps (or secure the OS from an app) Posted: 03 Feb 2020 05:00 AM PST So, I was looking at the "secure folder" function in my phone, and I feel android could benefit from a function that (kinda) does the opposite. A way to run apps away from other android functions. (like running browser in incognito) While in this mode the app is opened, but there are no options to
.... Where incognito mode would simply protect the apps history / not save what you're doing... The mode I'm thinking off would keep the rest of your phone safe from what you're doing, and prevent ways of distributing what you're doing. ...... Not sure if that sounds interesting, Or maybe there are ways to do this. [link] [comments] |
Sudden unresponsive screen with my fingers? Posted: 03 Feb 2020 10:38 AM PST Hello. I have a weird issue with my phone right now and there's no way I can find a solution in the web simply by googling it, I'm tired of looking at common solutions not related to my problem: I had a Samsung Galaxy S 6 for almost a year and I wanted to replace it because the screen started to act weird 6 months after I started using it. Sometimes when I pressed the screen the phone did not feel the touch, I blamed that phone because I expected it to be broken (the screen didn't look in good condition anyway for certain reasons). I got a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in december and got rid of my old phone. It's almost new, came inside his original box... nothing weird about it, it's really my best phone so far in my entire life. But weirdly enough, it has the same issue than my last one, and I started to experience it in day 2. The issue is that, for example, when I type in the keyboard I press a letter and nothing happens, I have to press it again for it to work and it happens constantly, basically every 10 seconds. I am writing this article in this phone and it is acting weird right now as you can imagine. It works perfectly with the S Pen, really not a single issue whatsoever so I am confused, I can even draw pefectly so it doesn't look like the touch is being redirected or something like that... Tried reboots, cleaning the cache, changed the Samsung keyboard to Swiftkey, disabled the vibration feedback of the keyboard just in case, I clean my fingers and the screen constantly, I don't use screen protector with any phone, the Note 9 almost never turns hot, etc. I have checked all that and none of those have solved the issue. This one has Android 8.0.1, by the way. Feels like when I switch to another keyboard the problem stops, but it only last some hours and the unresponsiveness comes back eventually. So, does anyone know anything about this? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Feb 2020 09:38 AM PST I've been seeing this icon pop up and immediately disappear randomly throughout the day in my notifications bar and I'm not sure what app produces it or what it means. Can someone help me ID it please? It looks like a cell phone with WiFi or sound waves coming out the side. I'm using a Galaxy S10+, and here's a rough idea of the icon https://imgur.com/rd6dD4G [link] [comments] |

Wireless Controller Isn’t Sustaining Connection to Device Posted: 02 Feb 2020 11:55 PM PST Hello, I'm trying to connect a duelshock 4 controller to my Galaxy Tablet A but it disconnects almost instantly after I pair it. I've tried the controller on apple devices and it seems to work so I assumed it was a problem with the tablet. Any help is appreciated as I really can't figure out what's wrong. [link] [comments] |
