Posted: 19 Feb 2020 08:52 PM PST As the title suggests, tonight I received an unexpected "Find My Mobile" notification on my Galaxy S10. I have never signed up for, or logged into, such a service. Should I be concerned? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 Feb 2020 08:57 PM PST I just received a notification from the Find My Mobile app but I've never signed into it or used it and all it said was "1." Can anyone explain to me what that means? [link] [comments] |
Gmail still not showing push notifications (been missing for months, almost a year) Posted: 20 Feb 2020 11:32 AM PST I've searched for fixes multiple times, tried just about everything I could think of or that I could find online... I still can't get Gmail notifications working. Notifications work for every other app it seems, just not Gmail. Phone is a oneplus 6, fully updated. So far I've gone through my android notification settings (all set to on), Gmail notification settings (all on), battery optimization settings (all off while testing)... Probably some other settings I'm forgetting about as well... Has anyone else been able to figure out the lack of Gmail push notifications? Most of the threads I can find online are almost a year old, with the newest being 5 or 6 months old. All of them offer different fix recommendations but none have worked for me so I'm at a bit of a loss, so now I'm here, haha. Thanks in advance [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 Feb 2020 09:37 PM PST For the first time ever I received a notification that said "Find my Mobile". The header and description of the notification were then "1" and "1". When I tapped it, as I was curious to see what it would open up, it went away. I am on a Galaxy Note 8 and do not have any "Find a Mobile Device" type apps active. Is anyone familiar with this type of notification, and does this mean the device was pinged? Example of what the notification looked like: Find my Mobile11 [link] [comments] |
Phone dropped. Started lagging until it froze and rebooted. Now it works fine. Is it damaged? Posted: 20 Feb 2020 01:04 PM PST Hi Yesterday my galaxy s9 fell from like a meter height. The screen and the exterior were pristine so I did not think much of it. I gradually notice that its becoming slower and slower and it starts lagging really hard. In a two day span it slowly but gradually became worse. At some point the application opened slower, then the camera stopped functioning. In the end I was unable to get anything other than the wallpaper on it and I could just unlock it with the fingerprint sensor and drag the notification menu down. But as i opened the settings or anything it crashed immediately to the wallpaper. At this point I tried to salvage some pictures from it so I connected it to the pc to export the DCIM folder but the pc recognized an empty 'galaxy s9' folder and nothing more. Samsung DEX didnt recognize any phone connected. At some point the screen started flashing the wallpaper and I thought well we are done so I left it like this. I return after half an hour and I try pressing the on/off button and the phone still was flashing the wallpaper. I did not hold it pressed or anything just clicked it and at a certain point the phone reboots. I did not think of rebooting it before because I thought I wouldnt be able to turn it back on. Once it rebooted it started working perfectly, even unironically seems quicker than before. I thought the fall may have damaged some inner component but it clearly seems that its not the case and it works fantastic now. What could have caused this all? Do you think it may happen again? Thank you [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Feb 2020 12:56 PM PST I've a type c to 3.5 adapter for my earphones. But adapter is inverting my left and right audio i.e. I'm hearing left audio from right earpiece. I can't just put my right earpiece in my left ear because earpiece have shape according to individual ear. Is there any app that can help me with my problem. Please Don't ask me to buy another adapter because this one otherwise works just fine. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Feb 2020 12:40 PM PST For some reason, whenever I have the USB cable plugged into my phone (either charging or Android Auto), the phone theme switches from dark mode to light mode. It's bizarre and very annoying. I'm sure there's a setting somewhere that I just can't find. Any suggestions? [link] [comments] |
Samsung customer support are absolutely useless. Please help! Posted: 20 Feb 2020 11:30 AM PST So I recently received my email from Xbox welcoming me into their xCloud beta test (Streaming xbox games to your phone and playing using a controller), it runs well when the controller is connected through bluetooth, however I read that the input delay can be substantially reduced by using an OTG cable/adapter to connect the controller to the phone. I tried connecting my phone to the controller using the OTG adapter and charging cable that came with my Galaxy S10+, however there was no response whatsoever from either the phone or the controller. I have also tried using my old OTG adapter that came with my old S8 and multiple other micro USB cables, all to no avail. Since discovering this problem I attempted to plug my phone into my PC, just to check MTP was all working, however my phones notification bar told me that it was simply cable charging and clicking this notification simply took me to the charge settings, not the USB settings as it should when connected to a PC, this was all while using the data cable that came with the phone. Samsung support took me through some steps including dialing *#0808#, none of which solved my problem. They then abruptly ended the conversation after 60 minutes of failing to identify the problem. I am now at a loss, any help would be appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Oneplus 7t pro locked out of device Posted: 20 Feb 2020 07:31 AM PST Hello guys, I will keep it very simple: I have a Oneplus 7t pro. I cannot get it to boot (Corrupt device message) but I can access fastboot and recovery mode. With my stupid head I thought it was smart at this point to relock the bootloader to maybe get it to boot again. Now I am stuck with a device that cannot boot and cannot be flashed from my pc because I locked the bootloader and do not have access to any flash commands. I also wiped the device already through recovery mode. It's not from any carrier btw. Is there any way to still it? :( edit 1: extra info [link] [comments] |

Drop down menu configuration button Posted: 20 Feb 2020 10:14 AM PST Hi everyone, I would like to know if it is possible to hide the configuration button on android 8.1.0 or to remove its functionality, These are the terminals that employees use at work and it would be perfect to find a solution ; thank you very much in advance! Having trouble ending a call - Pixel 2XL Posted: 20 Feb 2020 09:57 AM PST I am using a Pixel2XL with Android 10, and most of the time after I talk to someone on the phone, the screen stays black, like the proximity sensor doesn't notice I am not holding the phone to my head anymore. When this happens, I can't end the call, or do anything else with the phone. I tried enabling "power button ends call", but I am also having issues with my power button, it takes extra force to press it, so that's not ideal... Has anyone else had this issue? Any suggestions? Posted: 19 Feb 2020 09:38 PM PST I tried tapping on it and nothing happend, it just dissapeared. I changed my samsung account password and enabled 2 step verification. I also scanned for viruses with malwarebytes, but it said it was clean. Should I be worried about this? I cant find the app in the google play store or the galaxy store. [link] [comments] |
Did they get rid of the "pin" option in the share menu? Posted: 20 Feb 2020 05:05 AM PST I used to be to long press one of the share options then pin it, but now the only thing that comes up when I long press is "app info." [link] [comments] |
An extremely basic question about sending gifs Posted: 20 Feb 2020 08:28 AM PST I am frustrated that I cannot figure this out myself. [I have an LG Risio 2, android version 6.0.1] I use giphy to download and send gifs. I will download a gif and it will appear to work correctly when I view it in my gallery. However, when I send it in a text, some gifs appear as static images while others appear as, well, gifs. If you don't believe this is an android issue, let me know and I'll delete this post. Android 10 FRP Bypass Help Needed! Posted: 20 Feb 2020 07:50 AM PST I recently bought an S10+ (SM-G975U) in good faith from an auction. It was advertised for parts hence FRP bypass needed. The seller does not know the google account password. I installed Odin and found and downloaded the proper files (Android 9) from Sammobile. My problem comes from Odin, I have put the files in their respective places but to no success. I believe that the problem comes from Odin not recognizing the .pit file within the CSC .md5 file. When I try to add the CSC file to the .pit space I cannot add it because it is not in the correct format ( it is in .md5 format) Any suggestions on how to extract the .pit format file from inside the CSC .md5 format? Any other suggestions for bypassing FRP? TL;DR in FRP bypass on android 10, Odin is not recognizing the .pit file from inside the CSC file to downgrade to android 9 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 Feb 2020 09:56 PM PST So I recently used Find My Phone or Mobile on my laptop to look up where my phone was and that was about a month ago. Now, today I got a notification from Find My Mobile and it just says "1". Any idea what it is? I got paranoid so i changed my pw and turned on 2-step. [link] [comments] |
Oneplus 8, 7Pro, 7T Pro, Note10+, Note10 Lite, or Note20 Posted: 20 Feb 2020 07:29 AM PST Hey guys I'm thinking about upgrading my phone after Samsung ditched support for my note8. Which one of these phones would you reccomend? [link] [comments] |
How do you prevent screen from turning on when receiving notifications? Posted: 20 Feb 2020 07:03 AM PST I have my phone set up to no lock screen. I like being able to hit the power button and it just turn on, however, that means that any notification I get brings my phone to the home screen, and the screen won't automatically turn off until the screen time out timer is up. This means set ups for accidental presses in my pocket, and other such situations. So is there a way to make it so that when I get a notification, it just makes a sound and doesn't turn on the screen at all? I tried using the always on display thinking it may just put the notification on it instead of waking my phone, but it still wakes the screen. Assistant no longer gives muted responses with hands-free selected Posted: 20 Feb 2020 06:45 AM PST Maybe with the last update that this started but choosing hands-free only for Voice output no longer works and answers are now spoken every time I use it. It's extremely annoying. Can this be stopped? My assistant version is 0.1.187945513 on the OnePlus 6T running Android 10. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Feb 2020 05:46 AM PST Yesterday evening, I suddenly noticed the built-in speaker of my phone was emitting a hissing sound that can best be described as very similar to radio static. I don't remember what exactly I was doing at the moment - either reading an ebook file or, less likely, browsing a website on Firefox - but I certainly hadn't been changing any settings nor using the built in radio or voice recognition (the latter, I don't use at all). The sound reacted to me pressing volume up/down buttons, wasn't as loud as other sources with the same media volume level (I tried playing a YT video and using a virtual piano app for comparison) but still noticeable at anything above 50% volume. Reviewed all the open apps, none appeared to be playing any media or displaying any Android or in-app notifications. Closed some of the recently opened Firefox tabs, no change. I was feeling a bit sleepy at the time and decided to take a nap for a few hours, so I set the media volume to 0 and did so. Upon waking, I wanted to check if the issue still persisted - why yes, it did. Now I'm thinking "Some kind of weird glitch, let's reboot this thing". Upon rebooting, the sound resumes just as before. As it happened, yesterday I had received a notification about an available Android update, so I download and apply that too. Still no change - the sound resumes immediately after the update/reboot. Now I'm definitely weirded out. On a whim, I decide to speak into the microphone - something of no consequence, must have been "blablabla" or something. Lo and behold, the static ends. Not instantly, but within 10-20 seconds or so. Any ideas what might have caused this unusual occurrence? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Feb 2020 04:45 AM PST I have a Samsung S9 and even when sending pictures and videos taken with my very high quality DSLR, I've found that the quality lowers much much more than if I send the same files using an iOS device. Anyone know a possible solution? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Questions and strategies around losing your device/device manager Posted: 20 Feb 2020 12:50 AM PST This weekend my phone (Pixel 4XL) slipped out of my pocket just as I was getting in to my car after a day of skiing. I realized shortly after, and turned the car around towards where I knew I had my phone last. It was a quite busy parking lot, so my wife got out her phone to try to activate Find my device with my google account on her phone, in case someone found the phone and took it with them. I managed to log in to my account, since I had printed backup codes with me in my wallet fortunately. The location of the device was off by quite a long distance, however, I went to look for it where I thought it would be, and found it buried in the snow. The phone is OK, but the episode definitely got me thinking...
Many thanks for any input. [link] [comments] |
I don't care why FMM sent that notification... Posted: 19 Feb 2020 10:23 PM PST ...after tonight, I want the ability to disable it and remove it from my phone completely. Considering how easy personal information can be datamined, I want nothing to do with an app that tracks my phone without my consent and can't be bothered to give an official update on why this notification was sent.
